No, Mion and Rena dugged the body back up and hid it somewhere else

Hauu and WinD are the only ones still subbing Kai (Well Hauu finished). WinD is on episode 14 and recently subbed Nekogoroshi. Hauu said he's not going to sub that special and WinD is so behind on everything else that there's no way they will.

Not at all.
They only announced that Season 3 will be aired this year 2008, but absolutely not set date.

Most likely, this season will be aired in summer or fall 2008

Another guess is that they are gonna try to line it up with Saimoe 2008 and 2009 which would mean Klashikari's prolly right about summer or fall 2008 since Kai's already qualified for 2008 they might be gunning for 2009...

And then again, I could be L-5 and completely off my rocker ^__^

Saimoe is just a fan-run contest in which only a couple of thousand people actually participate; I highly doubt that a studio would actually schedule its releases using it as a criterion.

PS: I was wondering what some of the things Dark Rika says after winning in Higurashi Daybreak mean; does anyone know what she's saying in the following lines?

1. The frog inside the well plays in the well. It's intresting to jump in once in a while, huh.
(Frog refers to the poem from Tatarigoroshi-hen. There are different interpretation as to what "frog", "outside the well", and "you" refers to.)

2. There's no need to know who I am. It's a world that will end anyway.
(Dark Rika after all)

o Satoko: "Huh? Rika, did you happen to say something just now?"
x Rika: "It's okay to be defeated any number of times. You're gaining experience, right? *giggle*"
o Rika: "It's okay to lose over and over again. At least you won't remember it. giggle*"

Sad and cynical words from Rika...

Is there any other way to Rip the text out of Daybreak other then just typing it out?

Indeed. That's where I got them from. It also has transcripts of everything the characters say in game.

Running some of these through Google Translator gives amusing results. Natsumi Kimiyoshi's name turns into "serious public beam weapons".

Sorry if this sounds bothersome, but I know someone will think this belongs in the thread for the PS2 game, when I don't really want information about Miotsukushi-hen (the final PS2 arc) itself.

I just want to know whether it's true the author directly said that new PS2 arc is the "true end". Nothing else.

I keep seeing people repeating this everywhere but with no source or explanation (or just "it's in Wikipedia"), it's just assumed as such and I'd like to see some confirmation.

Again, I personally don't think spoilers about the arc or the PS2 game are necessary at all in order to answer this...

Miotsukushi-hen is the "True-End" but that doesn't make Matsuribayashi-hen any less canon it's just that Miotsukushi-hen is as canon as the "Good-End" Matsuribayashi-hen

Also Miotsukushi-hen can't really be considered a Good ending like Matsuribayashi-hen

I understand that, more or less, but I wonder if the author did say that it was a "true end" just like that, or if he explained things a little bit more (again, without spoilers, that's not what I want to know or remember).

A lot of games in Japan have a "good end" and a "true end", it's sort of a convention. The latter is generally a lot darker and sometimes more meaningful.
