I'll man it up and say it now: never have I instantaneously cried tears of joy until the moment Nagisa opened her eyes. I was supporting my head on the desk with my hands while watching the episode, seemingly fully aware of what was going to happen.
Things is when she opened her eyes my arms buckled, face meets keyboard, and I immediately and instinctively reached for my shirt to wipe away my tears that haven't even begun flowing yet because I didn't have a towel ready.

It actually didn't fully hit me until redid the shot of them getting ready for their trip and how they faded in Nagisa and Tomoya around Ushio. It might have been the music though, but the completion of the circle was nice.
Well that and Dango Daikazoku, but that's become an almost auto cry.

i felt the ending was well done but it just didn't seem to close with the impact of some of the better episodes toward the end. It caused my heart to waver when scoring but I just felt like a little of the momentum was lost. My favorite scene was when Tomoya called out to Nagisa and ran up to her and hugged her, it was amazing, like a soldier coming home to greet his loving wife after surviving the horrors of the unknown. Also I felt that Kyoto Ani was a little too damn blunt about the Illusory world and its connection to Tomoya. Another choke point for me was when the girl said papa, as the robot gets shreded by the collapsing of the illusory world as Tomoya's wish is being granted.

It's kinda hard to forget... feels like there's a massive void in your life now, like an important part of life has been ripped away. But I guess that's the lesson of Clannad. :P
Ahh... it's nice being able to finally enter this thread after resisting for two years! :D |

I forsee this thread still being useful for another three to five weeks, perhaps longer as the Widescreen versions come out three weeks later and there is one, possibly two episodes left...plus translation time for the widescreeen episodes for those that refuse to watch anything other than WS subbed.

I'm still waiting for the 16:9 versions of episodes 17-22 so that I can watch them all in one go and see if I can resist BAWing.
http://corey.blogbus.com/logs/30378051.html I just found this excellent Chinese blogger's attempt in interpreting the ending of Clannad, maybe I'll translate this when I have time. Other Chinese-speakers are welcome to do that as well, so instead I can concentrate on playing Little Busters (Ecstasy version) before Kyo-Ani decides they're gonna adapt that. |

You can't help but trying.
But then again, the choice wasn't available back then, right? Edit @ithekro Yeah, I kinda feel that's what I'd do too. Maybe I'll carry her straight home. It wasn't so clear in the VN IIRC
