Also, something I found in my fic folder: Note, this was never proof-read, so it's most likely full of grammar holes. It's also something I did as a stress relief, so it's a mild stomp. But then again, it's something appropriate for the most ass-kicking mech in history.

Madoka grumbled as the newest “addition” to their team roared past her ears. She gritted her teeth in irritation. How would this oversized hulk of metal take on the I.S units? It seemed slow, cumbersome, and most of all, it didn’t seem to have any sort of a proper forcefield.

At very least, she reasoned, it could have been used as a meatshield, but even then, it would probably die too soon to be of any real use.

“…Why do I even bother. Command must be nuts to think that this guy…”
“…can what, love?” A deep voice interrupted her musings, and Madoka clicked her tongue in annoyance.
“It’s rude to spy on a lady.”
“It’s rude to talk behind a guy’s back. Especially when he can snap your spine with his left hand.”
Madoka laughed mirthlessly. “You’re welcome to try. You wouldn’t be able to even get my M side going, prick.”

The man on the other side laughed, in a deep, booming manner. “Oh, I like you sweetheart. I think we will get along just fine.”

Anything more was interrupted by Autumn: “If you have the time to flirt, then maybe show us how you’d deal with that I.S Academy forcefield!? Thanks to your chit-chat, the entire Academy knows we’re coming!”

Madoka rolled her eyes. It was very unlikely that the conversation gave them away; more like, I.S Academy’s sensors were *that* good…but she wasn’t about to argue with her superior. Again.

The man however, was willing to bite.

“Oh, come on fruitcake. Novem, what’s this thing again?”

Slithering, seductive, but also somewhat robotic voice answered his query. “Assesment: A large-scale Anti-Energy and Anti-Ballistic defense shield, interwoven with smaller shield patterns throughout the designated area. Difficulty level: Insulting.”

As she said that, the bi-pedal machine unholstered some kind of…is this…a howitzer? A triple-barreled one?

Autumn scoffed. “A mere gun won’t-“
*BOOMBOOMBOOM*

The shield didn’t just collapse – it was ripped apart in a flash of massive energy fireballs that could have consumed an apartment block by themselves.

“Holy Shitfuck.” Madoka muttered. “If you show me this gun in detail, I’ll let you do me in any way imaginable.”

Ichika panted as he dodged another beam volley. With a scream, he charged in, firing his beam cannons in a salvo, as he drew his blade. Several beams smashed into their target, chipping off or melting armor plates. But at the last second, the machine swiftly pivoted vertically, Ichika’s blade missing it by centimeters.

“Dammn!” He cursed mentally. “Something this big should have no right to move this fast!”

Around him, the situation was dire: His teammates were pinned down by the Phantom Task pilots, and this…this thing was not just stalling him – it was pushing him back, despite being larger than a Golem.

“How did this get so bad!?” He despaired, as he neutralized another beam shot with his sword, before unleashing another particle cannon barrage, only to hit air.
The first line of defense of the Academy was gone – The on duty teachers were missing, with dreadful presumption that they have been killed. Tatenashi was lying down there somewhere, bleeding and barely kept alive by Kanzashi’s first-aid, and her I.S nanomachines, after being hit directly by that …thing’s particle howitzer. Although Ichika was able to force it to drop the gun, it only served to lighten its load, and make it faster.

“Why!” He shouted to no-one in particular. “Why me!? What the hell do you people want!?”

The black-and-red golem stopped. Suddenly, a deep male voice rang out, like it was broadcasted through some sort of mic.

“Hahahahahahahaha!!! That’s a good one kid! You? This isn’t about you any longer!”
Ichika narrowed his eyes. “What?”
“I said: This isn’t about you. It never was. And now…Nineball? Light ‘em up.”
Ichika didn’t understand what was happening – in a second, the back of the golem expanded like a fan, revealing dozens of missile launchers. He immediately dived – but realized that his I.S HuD was not displaying any missile locks. Were they unguided rockets then…?

Then, as he turned around, he realized.

“NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!” He shouted. But it was too late.
“Get stuffed kids.” The man sneered, and the golem unleashed its barrage – straight into the I.S Academy’s residential block and classrooms.

It was a pandemonium.

The once vibrant campus was now on fire, lush forests and parks being devoured like leaves before hungry ants. The once serene air was now filled with screams of students and teachers in terminal agony.

Ichika looked on with hollow eyes.

Nothing was spared. Cluster warheads ripped through the mess halls, bunker-busters rammed into designated shelters – opening the way for more guided, anti-personnel munitions. Explosive warheads turned warehouses into shrapnel traps.

By the time the machine ended its barrage and dumped the empty bins, there were maybe a dozen, two- left in the entire Academy.

Ichika felt his world crack. He didn’t even notice was he crashed into the still-intact grass.

“No pilot = no problem” the man smugly declared, before aiming his rifle at Ichika’s back. “As for you-“

There was a bloodcurdling yell, and the machine was forced to dodge hard to the right, as a broadsword narrowly missed its cockpit.

Orimura Chifuyu, the world’s most powerful I.S pilot, was furious. Someone killed her students. Someone was trying to kill her brother. And they were gloating about it.

She would make them pay.

But the man just laughed. Clapping sounds soon followed, as if he was admiring the performance.

“Exemplary! Novem?”
“Threat Assessment: This might actually be worthy of our time.”

For the first time in many, many years, the man, a living mercenary legend known only as Hustler One, felt thrill.

“Nineball Seraph.” He intoned quietly. “Target Verified. COMMENCING HOSTILITIES!!!!”
He fired. Chifuyu charged. And after that, nothing would be the same.

This spec ops team is called Volume 8.

As for Nineball....I rather have Pulverisers from last raven, but one can said the Golems are pretty much similar.

I'm trying my best to write Future Imperfect, but (unfortunately) seeing IS season two just makes it harder due to my penchant for deconstruction. Unless I want to make the kids look mildly psychotic they're going to be asking why exactly Ichika/Their dad is being abused on a daily basis and why exactly the Cinderella play was 'harmless' and 'funny'. Girls will then say that it's all harmless and Ichika really isn't being hurt (Blatant lies), which leads to kids emulating behavior due to their young age.

Result: Female kid attacks male kid due to perceived offense, male kid gets pissed and hits back, fight escalates and both end up injured in the infirmary with none of the parents having the right to get mad since they're no better.

It's not fun and games, Senpai: Some of the kids already act psychotic and I wonder if I can keep the T rating - Celeste (Laura's kid) is rather verbally abusive to Charles while Usagi is already taking after her mother Tabane. The guys are no better off - Kazuma attacks Usagi with a shard of glass when she tries to experiment on him and Saito attempts to choke Aria when she tried to do the 'playful hitting' to him. Most of the cast are REALLY horrible parents in the future without character development and it shows.

Yeah, and the genre is romance/humor >.> Ah well, there's a segment where Tabane tries to see if Ichika can resonate and he ends up catching sight of future him and Tabane doing the, ahem, deed. He becomes scarred....and yet he's somehow disappointed he didn't get to watch to the end.

Instead of Inventing I.S., Tabane invented Plavsky particles, which cal be used to create a temporal reality... for plastic model.

In short, you have kitbashed plastic model beating the shit out of each other in real time. Cue serious business and unashamedly straight faced grade schooler plot.

Do note that in this series, suit model doesn't always decide everything. Assuming same quality model of same generation,a better-built model or with better pilot will always win. A shoddily built QAN-T is a shoddily built QAN-T that will get stomped merciless, and a well crafted Zakus are awesome Zakus.
