The good news: S3 is going to be the much-revered Circus Arc. The bad news? Series composition by Yoshino Hiroyuki. Though if you're anti-Okada enough, maybe you see that as good news. There's also going to be a "Book of Murder" OVA. Old-school's Old-schooler Abe Noriyuki steps in as director.

It'll be very interesting to see how the anime extricates itself from the untidy mess Okada left it in. Will it simply pretend the last 1+ seasons never happened? I can say this much - it's going to be a test for the censors. That arc is a dark ride.

Wow. I never expected this. So is this like FMA where the anime will follow the manga regardless of how the second season ended?

Well, if they only intend to cover circus arc only without adding some unnecessary stuff, I guess it's alright having Yoshino Hiroyuki. His Magi S2 actually quite decent (then again, Magi' S2s problem was more animation budget than directing).

I think we can safely say that they're going to ignore whatever changes they did in S1 and S2 never happened.

Second season was pure filler so it doesnt matter where it ended. Heck look at how the first season ended

Im stoked for this. More Sebby and Ciel is always good and Circus arc is FINALLY getting animated.

Just a reminder that Yoshino Hiroyuki was on the staff of the 1st season and wrote a few episodes for it.

Being Okada Mari's tea boy isn't the same as being in charge of series composition, though.

If we get the Yoshino of Magi S1, it's a problem. If we get the Yoshino of Magi S2 it should be fine. He's perfectly capable of adapting material straight if he so chooses (and I'm not sure Okada is).

It wasn't filler, it was its own thing separate from the manga and it had a definite ending so they cant just pick up from there.

Most people consider stuff like that "filler", as the events didn't appear in the manga.

I'm really looking forward to this.
Season 2 wasn't as good as I used to think it was, especially the ending, in my opinion, but even so, I believe they can do something about it later on.

Anyway, this season looks really fun, I hope it is as fun as season 1!

Any news on the release date?

Decent start, though it was just a filler episode. The real story begins next week.

Wonderfully executed. I expected that the setup would be the same as the first episode. Did anyone else get the notion A-1 was showing off their special effects with those glasses? Also, is it just me or does the quality seem different from the previous 2 seasons?

Well, not bad, I guess, as an Introductory ep...especially for someone who knows nothing of either the manga or the previous adaptations other than the fact that they exist. I definitely appreciate the "learning curve".

It is kinda hard to tell whether or no I will pick this one up, though, so I will it a few more eps. At the moment nothing really grabs my interest nor push it away....
