Fighting Anime

Along the lines of Tenjou Tenje or Dragonball Z, more towards unrealistic strengths but normal fighting all good

Saint Seiya, Getbackers, CCS, black lagoon, Samurai 7, utawarerumono, ROD, Slam dunk. i really hated Tenjou Tenje. Fate/stay Night is way overrated. Samurai Champloo is quite boring as well.

I disagree, both Fate/Stay Night and Samurai Champloo are outstanding series, and if I understand what CCS is, I would Hardly classify Card Captor Sakura as a fighting anime, and I doubt its what he's looking for.

Yuu Yuu Hakusho (Imagine DBZ, but everything done right)
Bleach
One Piece
Hunter x Hunter
Rurouni Kenshin (would reccomend manga though)
Utawarerumono

The stuff listed above are all fantastic serieses. Also, I don't know how good the anime is, but the Flame of Recca manga is keeping me entertained.

well i have to disagree with your disagreement. A fight doesn't neccessarily mean exchange of fists, swords, guns, tackles etc. 2 or more people/party oppose the other in any possible way = a fight. To me, the kick Suzumiya Haruhi did to the Com Society Prez in ep11 gave me more excitement than the whole FSN show. Samurai Champloo have good amount of fights but the quality is average. By average, i mean not up to Rurouni Kenshin level, better than Samurai Deeper Kyo. There arent' many good moments in general. Cardcaptor Sakura is an unique MAGIC vs MAGIC fighting anime. Most fights in CCS are TACTICAL battles.

except he's looking for something like DBZ, so tactics arn't really the most important

Just wanna say thanx for all the suggestions, most of them I've already seen tho and have been watching for a long time now, in the case of naruto, Bleach, One Piece and f/sn

Yuu Yuu Hakusho so far looks to be a great series, or has the basis to be. Only watched a few eps, around 20odd, so I can't really tell with it being a long series.
