From what I understand, this is pretty much the standard practice for most production companies. Since no single animation studio could keep up with the 1/week pace, episodes are doled out to several studios. There is probably a thread buried somewhere in this forum, or in the general forum that has more specific details.

The fights aren't all that long, how long was the battle between Kagashi - Zabuza, Sasuke/Naruto - Haku? It wasn't all that long, the longest battle was (i think) the 3rd vs Oro. But when Naruto fought Gaara, the pace went up A LOT.
Have you seen Dragon Ball (Z/GT)? Since you think these battles are long, DON'T watch the Dragon Ball series

Well, it seems like at least some people answered on my post. Last time I put up one of these posts on a site some people started with the "i'm going to beat the $hit out of you because we have different opinions" stuff. I'm really glad that this haven't happened yet on this thread.

Before I'll start writing some new upsetting lines then I'll answer the question about what I think is a good storyline.

Answer: I don't know! If I would have known a very good storyline then I would have done something with it (like telling someone about it). There are some cool ideas around, but most movies, animes and mangas are built on a quite boring storyline. Don't take me wrong now, I'm not a depressive person who hates everything and everyone, this is just my opinion. Naruto is simply built on the story about one dude having a daemon inside his body, and his way through life (in short). Full Metal Alchemist: two brothers trying to get their limbs/bodies back that they ahve lost in an experiment. It sounds quite boring when I says this, but it's true. When you cuts down something then it is quite boring.

And about the slow battles: I have just watched until... don't really know. I ahven't watched the battle between 3rd and Oro since I have found some other series to watch instead.

And what don't I like about Sasuke and Naruto? Naruto is loud, irritating (my thoughts once again) and... well, not the kind of character I like. Sasuke is a character without personality. You've seen the likes of him over and over again (even thought I ahve to say that I thought he was quite cool in the beginnning). More I can complain about.... Nope, I think that's it . If I comes up with anything more to complain about you'll probably hear it sooner or later :P

Now I will bring up an other subject: what do you people think is so good about Naruto? Oh, and can someone tell me what's happening in the anime? Have Itachi been introduced yet? I really liked him in the manga so I'll probably download some eps where he shows up.

Yeah Itatchi just showed up the past 2 eps (maybe 3) but in ep 85 you see him retreat and disappear again

I think Naruto is funny he's is so stupid, yet he knows how handly other peoples feelings, since he had a sad history of his own. Funny joke with the whole frog thing and Jiraya.

One thing i hate about Naruto is that he's so stupid not to know Hinata love him DAMN YOU Naruto, your wasting an opertunity of a lifetime!!!!

Well, about Hinata I must agree, she's just too cute! Almost as Chii in Chobits (if you have no idea of what I'm talking about then download a few pics). First time I watched the anime they have forgot to sub something Naruto said to Hinata (ep 58..... maybe). I was irritated about that for about two weeks since I couldn't find an other sub group that have translated that part

Like others have said, this current arc has all fights and no character development. Can we honestly say we know a lot more about Naruto or Kiba than we did before? Remember the big controversy when Lee came back? That was a LOOOONG time ago - which is an indicator of just how long this is going.

I said this in another thread, but here goes again:
If you go back to the Kakashi/Zabuza fight, round 1, when Kakashi was freed from the Water Prison, that was the true "oh sh*t" moment of the series. In it,
• we saw teamwork
• we saw that weaker people, if smart enough, can overcome strength and experience
• (this is vital) we saw new ways to use existing jutsus. Everything was already in place; we had already seen Kagebunshin and Henge, but never did we consider that they could be combined like that.

What do we have now? Curse Seal lvl. 1, lvl. 2, the pill that makes you 10x stronger, the next pill that makes you 100x stronger, the next pill that makes you 1000x stronger, new jutsus that come out of nowhere. It doesn't feel as...clever...as smartly written as it used to.

I have to half-agree with this. The point of Sasuke's character is that however much he changes, he really doesn't - not in mis motivations, which are still an integral part of who he is. It is a good question, though - why hasn't Sakura really gone anywhere with her character? Remember the Forest of Death, when she protected Sasuke and Naruto, and cursed her own weakness and inability? What happened to her? (It should be noted that this is not Sakura-bashing, but a question as to why the mangaka has chosen to do nothing with a main character.)

I would say that of all the characters, Shikamaru and Neji have grown the most as people. Shika finally turns around and "gets it" - being a shinobi isn't a game that you can half-ass. IMHO, it would make a better character if Neji still hates the main family - he's trying not to, but still does - much like if a racist person tries to turn themselves around. You'll still look at the world through a racist view for a LOOOONG time, even though you're trying to make yourself more tolerant of others. Neji's hatred of his uncle isn't something that should vanish after a 5-minute man-to-man talk.

The progression of the missions:
• The lives of your teammates are at stake
• The village is at stake
• The WORLD is at stake (but still most notably the village)

What's next?

I will say on the record right now that I think the Akatsuki were thrown in to extend the series. Now, you have eight New and Dangerous™ villains to fight - villians that are extensions of Itachi and have really not affected the storyline so far by virtue of their existing. Unless there is some sort of historical or mythological "9 soldiers of the red moon" deal, then I really don't see a good reason why they should be here.

In conclusion?
I like Naruto - not nearly as much as I used to, but it still makes a decent read. There's better stuff out there - I'd take HnG over Naruto any day of the week. I haven't seen very much of One Piece yet, but it looks like good watching.

The drawn out scenes are there to make the anime longer, so the show will have more episodes, and ultimately make more money. I dislike them, but i'll live with it because I like it when stuff actually does happen.

And as a question for you: have I ever said that I don't like anime? Have anyone else said that they don't like anime? If they have then I've missed that part and then I'll apologize. I'm quite a fan of both manga and anime, why would I be on this site if I wasn't?

But for watching Naruto I can tell you one thing: I don't. I read the manga though I think I have to download some eps with Itachi. So why am I watching/reading Naruto? Simple; I wish to know what will happen next. I'm reading the books of Robert Jordan which is at ten books atm, but I'm just reading his books because I want to know how things are going to end. As simple as that. Probably some of you won't agree that this is a reason to continue watching/reading/whatever but I think it is. Yesterday I downloaded all the manga that I've missed and I will probably buy them as soon as I have the money, since I own the rest of the volumes it would look rather silly if I cancelled collecting in the middle of the collection, wouldn't it?

You would think so...but no. A series like Ranma lasts for....I don't remember how many volumes, but I'm pretty sure it's well over 20. This isn't counting however many VHS/DVD tapes there are, the two movies, and the twelve-episode OVA. If you were to go over to a friend's house and see the first seven manga and that's it, it wouldn't be an uncommon thing.

This is something I learned as a comic-book fan - it's okay to stop a series that you don't want to spend the money on anymore. If you come to my house and browse my comics, you'll see series with a really random number of issues - say, 142-156. After issue 156, I would have decided that "hey, I don't really like this series enough to blow $2-3 an issue every month." And that's fine.

Yes, I want to see how things end. That's not a convincing enough argument for me to actually spend tons of cash on it. I can just as easily go to a bookstore and read the series and know what happens. Is this a series you must own or a series that you are content to see only once or twice?

Consider this: Naruto is currently at volume 25 and counting. At $10 US a manga, you're talking at LEAST $250 for this series - I hope you love it.

Referring to my post above: We have no clue when the series will end - especially with the introduction of eight New and Dangerous™ villians. It could easily extend past the 30-volume mark.

Ryota, are you saying that I wouldn't like One Piece? *shrugs* Maybe. Maybe not. Only one way to find out, right?

YES! I long for high quality animation. Where the pictures actually MOVE, instead of just seeing one frozen shot, on the featured character(s) over and over again. Animation means moving or motion of a picture doesn't it? Well, I know Naruto could and SHOULD be better animated (because in the beginning IT WAS) however why it isn't is because of greed...not wanting to spend time and money on more artists working on Naruto.

I did love the fight between Gaara in Badger form fighting the frog boss.... one of the highlights of my life Better yet was Sakura being held against the tree the entire time without enough air to say "sasuke-kun, naruto-kuin" AMEN..... however yet annoying still was Sasuke-kun's stares of disbelief watching Naruto kick some ass or what ever... If the little brat hadn't been off working on some last minute touch up on his Chidori he would of seen the Naruto .vs Neji fight and would of "had a clue" blehhhhhhhh

I wish Naruto would be animated in a higher quality of art (lack of knowing proper word here-sorry) and I wish that Naruto anime would follow the Manga to the letter ... however I doubt it will change. so I either have to except it and keep watching and/or also find a nother "fix" to watch .... (watch a different anime series) or shut up.... (yeah, well, sort of)

I'm done complaining because it makes no difference.
