The 8 greed kings appeared 500 years ago as mentioned in vol. 5.

Also the period is every 100 mentioned by characters from that world as the time when gods descend, iirc.

As you see, there was a record of centennial summoning from Yggdrasil.
600 years ago - Six Gods of Slain Theocracy
500 years ago - Eight Greed Kings (kill last of Six Gods still alive)
400 - ???
300 - ???
200 - 13 heroes (at least 2 players)
100 - ???

Players with unassigned time appearing:
* Minotaur - obsessed with earthly medical practices over healing magic and home appliances
* Player vs Dragon - as mentioned above, possibly from 300 years ago.

As I have written previously, I suspect the Minotaur Sage was 100 years ago since he is still remembered despite a world with terrible record keeping. And if the player killed by a dragon was 300 years ago, that would leave the 400 years ago mark to be answered. But more players could have been summoned at those time periods who just stayed silent.

That's certainly possible, as Ainz lamented how poorly explored the map of the world was. Combine with terrible record keeping and history being nonexistent beyond a few centuries, they very well could be.

I think all the JPN anime studios are booked till 2021

I do think we will get a season IV of 13 episodes adapting LN volumes 10, 11, 12 and ending on its cliffhanger but it is at a minimum 2 years away

and hopefully by then Madhouse has gotten their shit together!

ideally - a season IV should be 20-21 episodes adapting volumes 10-13 but I doubt Kadokawa will ever give Overlord a 2-cour season

I certainly hope they remake the Katze Plains massacre.
I think the Paladins arc could be 2/3 to a whole season itself. I think that's why they should wait on more volumes because the paladins arc of 12-13 combined with vol 10 & 11 would be too much for a 13 episode season. If they get 2 more volumes complete, then that is two seasons of complete story they can work to adapt without a cliffhanger.

Spoiler for first 2 chapters:

Ainz was not in his guild hall when it counts to zero, so he was teleported to the New World alone. He found himself in a city filled with low level zombies that ignores him. He didn't attack any of them because he believe they could all aggro on him if he does that. But then he detected a small figure running away from him, and he chased her down.

After talking to the girl, who told her what happened to the Kingdom and how she was the princess and sole survivor who became a vampire while everyone else were zombified, she begged him to revert what HE had done. That she would do anything for forgiveness whatever that caused offence. Ainz then realised she had mistakenly thought that he was the cause of the zombification decades ago.

He cleared up the misunderstanding, making it clear that he just got here. And he ended up agreeing to aid her in her quest to resurrect her parents, even though he knows it is not actually possible. He decided she deserves hope the same way he deserved to hope to see his own old guildmates again.

The two of them then went on multiple years of secret murderous undead-on-undead rampage, chasing down powerful undead casters where ever they could find, hoping that one of them either was the culprit or know someone who was.

A secret society of undead casters was caught in the crossfire. Night Liche Lords and other powerful undead, one of them even figured out level 8 magic, had been banding together to protect peace between each other. They were loosely connected and many rarely even attend the once a year meetup.

But then, one of the powerful members vanished, his hideout ransacked, and there was not even a sign of any struggle. The Society did a headcount, and realised that 40% of their members had already disappeared without realising it.

The powerful Undead lords freaked out. Their meetings became more frequent, first monthly, weekly, to now once every two days. Each time, they were terrified of who is going to go missing next. And some started moving in with each other for protection.

One thing they agreed on, is that there is no hope of fighting their way out of this. Their only path is to beg for mercy, to who ever is doing this to them.

But they still had no idea WHO is doing this...

That's all the translations have gotten to at this point. This is just a quick synopsis.

Also, separately, EvilEye's creation was explained elsewhere in the book.

EvilEye had a unique Talent. She could copy and store any single spell that she either sees or had been cast on her. Any spell at all. Even Class restricted, item resticted or level restricted spells can be learned. The down side is that she can only store one spell at a time, that the stored spell can only be cast once, and that she needed to cast that spell before she could store another different spell. Also, even though she could cast any copied spell, the spell power would scale down to her own level in magnitude.

When her city was cursed with a massive spell that tried to siphon all the souls out of the country to the enemy (and turn everyone into zombies in the process as a side effect), the princess instinctively re-casted the curse that was attacking her. This cause HER to be the one to actually zombify her own country, while sucking all the souls into herself and making her into a powerful True Ancestor Vampire Princess.

So, in a way, she DID destroy a country. She DID turn a city into a land of undead. She was technically justified for being called Landfall.
She just did it by accident.

Also, note that she is technically still casting that zombie spell and maintaining it. This means she can no longer use her Talent as the spell is ongoing and can't store any other spell. If she ever intentionally turn it off, then the original attack would activate and she would instantly become a Zombie like her parents, her soul taken away to the enemy.

Why do I get the feeling that Climb will do something stupid?

I mean, I'm kinda skeptical that his thinking that Gazef let himself die to give information to them might be too much. I hope Climb doesn't start a war between his Kingdom and Ainz's.

Especially the King, Ainz would not approve of resurrecting the Chief Warrior. That would offend him.

Climb can't do shit, he is just a commoner knight, and even if he can, Renner and none in the Kingdom will let him do that, the massacre of Katze Plain had already scare them out of their wit, there is no way they let him do something stupid to incur Ainz's wrath

This is because the Emperor needed to have justification for why he betrayed humanity.
Think of it this way:

• The Empire just declared support for some new sorcerer king
• The Sorcerer King turns out to be undead and releases a spell that slaughters thousands
• The nations rally and realize why the Empire capitulated and notice the intel they are secretly feeding to the alliance against the Sorcerer King

However, he underestimated the effect of Ainz's 'most powerful spell':

• Slaughtering over a 100,000 men makes it look like the Empire wanted this outcome to weaken the Kingdom rather than capitulated out of fear.
• Now the other nation will never believe they are secretly fighting the Sorcerer King.
