I have a few ideas... but it's a little corny, so it's harder to work it out.

The idea revolves around them meeting in an edged-desert world or at least something far-off the track a little, in both TSAB-assist and NGO-work. I've got some sort of 'watcher's narrative' on how it works in Astra's side a little already, but others are harder.

We'll see.

My biggest question for you guys: What do you think Vivio will be like as a 14-year old? I'm playing it safe and showing very little of a personality right now other than just being a teenager, but as the story continues I'll be showing more of it. I'm guessing some mix of Nanoha and Fate, along with typical teenage mannerisms thrown in for good measure.

And also, Syn Virage isn't my creation. She's one of Keroko's OCs that was posted pages ago.

Ohh~ nice. I didn't like so much of the foreshadowing part, but the 'school' thing was nice.

As for Vivio... I'd see her as a more conscious, preppy child Nanoha, really. Nanoha was quite mature-ish for a 9, but she did come across as being a little dense, and I don't really see Vivio like that older. She's probably the type that will 'sigh' at some things her mother would do, but at a neccesary time when her mother or anyone important is insulted or hurt, she can probably go 30% of White Devil Mode herself.

Kinda like 70% child Nanoha, 40% Yuuno, 30% White Devil, 20% Fate or something.

Remnants of the old war decades and decades ago. The way it's constructed, only the central parts of Cranagan City seems to be fully rebuilt and furnished like a city.

Either restoration of old blocks are not neccesary due to usage as training grounds or no need due to population, among other things. It's not clearly explained.

Story-wise, it's just an excuse to have the battle in Mid-childa without having to resort to 'omg we destroyed public property.'

15 years ago, a fire broke out at a high energy plant running an experiment it wasn't supposed to run. We all know that as the Precia incident, the one that killed Alicia.

This is where Rebuilt comes in. My crack says that fire was no mere accident, but a manipulative effort to create the spark that would ravage through vast areas of land. Several leylines that conduct power across had their failsafes sabotaged, and thus reacted violently to an otherwise isolated event.

The final effect was the sacking of by magical fire of several towns and provinces within a 50mile radius, and a slow spreading magical plague that corrupted all life and rendered many more areas inhabitable. Those destroyed in the fire included Renault, Kha's town of birth and hence the last stronghold of Ancient Belka, the original Sankt Alexei Convent.

We now call those places sealed within towering walls of concrete the Plaguelands.

Anatomy of a Plagued Town: Cerulean City

A short drive from the Scarlet Temple that monitors all of the Plagued's activity within the Plaguelands, Cerulean City of Renault is the first abandoned city one encounters. The tall destroyed buildings may be barren on the exterior, but in the daylight that is just a facade that hides the tortured and twisted beings within. At nightfall, these former human beings that we call the Plagued come out to hunt and feed. As they lack the rudimentary intelligence to make tools or do any complicated actions, the wall barriers starting from Scarlet Temple and spreading Westwards and Northwards to the next outpost managed by other groups is enough to contain the threat.

Reclaimation of the Plaguelands

Due to the threat of corruption and from mutated lifeforms, reclaimation of the destroyed areas have been at best slow in progress. Over 15 years, TSAB authorities and Belka officials have worked hard to only reduce the size of the Plaguelands to 45% of the maximum extent. The stubborn core of the Plaguelands still encompasses the provinces of Renault (Southern Plaguelands), Ferrari (Northern Plaguelands) and the Ground Zero of the accident that's sandwiched by the Plaguelands, the magiengineering industrial and residential center, Stratholme.

Reclaimed Lands

Due to safety concerns, no civilian movement are allowed on former Plagueland as the TSAB has imposed a 100 year cooldown on the area so as to be completely sure the land has gone benign. However, the several stretches of abandoned airports and cities have since been earmarked as training ground for TSAB personnel, letting their sometimes wanton training crumble the buildings into powder.

Knights, as part of their training, sometimes make forays into the Plaguelands to complete quests and earn Stars that boost their licence ranking.

Consequences for Late StrikerS

Several other sites, along with some areas within the Plaguelands, soon became the battlegrounds for the Battle of Cradle in late MC 0071. Jail had discovered several weaknesses in the TSAB's ground deployment due to the Reclaimed Lands, and used them to maximum effect, forcing personnel to battle in dangerous no-man's lands. The Reclaimed and Plaguelands also proved to be havens in hiding his stealthed equipment.

By the height of the brief civil war, the TSAB were all but stunned by the sheer amount of resources that Jail had at his disposal, as well as how much he had denied the Midchilda forces.

The Forsaken

Within the last 10 years, a new group of humans emerged in the Plaguelands. Living in the sewer network of Ferrari City, these fortunate individuals who retained their sanity despite the corruption, or had broken free from the Plague's Chaos taint called themselves the Forsaken, and carved out a meagre existence from their new home they call the Undercity.

For years the Scarlet Crusade, a branch of Radical Belka aimed at destroying all of the Plagued, crossed swords with the Forsaken, and it is only recently that under Carym and Kha's brokering, and Celestial Being's repeated intervention, that the Scarlet Crusade and Forsaken were reigned in. While the civilized world continue to hold distain for the contorted Forsaken, at least a fragile peace has settled in on the Plaguelands for the first time in over a decade. And Kha, even though a Cleric-knight himself, is on good terms with the Forsaken leader Lacus Lamperouge and continues to be one of the loudest voices for Forsaken reconciliation in the civilized world.

Forsaken sometimes do show up in the Reclaimed Lands, but as long as they don't get in the way of the TSAB, this truce shall continue...

Nanoha actually gets worse as Vivio slowly follows, but both of them reach this point (that won't be discussed for spoiler purposes), when the whole thing explodes. Episode 6 is when I'm planning on a lot of major stuff happening, though it all requires the lead-up to it as well.

For those who are out of the loop, Fate had that disease with afflicts all clones born without blessing of the Naaru. In order to fix it, as part of Kha long fight against his destiny, he sacrificed the indomitable "Augen des Gottes", his only attack spell that really had bite and went through great lengths to "rebirth" Fate.

Needless to say, he succeeded. But losing that spell, and having stressed himself to near-unconciousness later almost cost him his life.

Like Mwu la Fllaga. Length of time spent "dead" included.

This is turning out really awesome.

Thanks. Things will happen... big things, that begin to unravel the ties that bind and causes bonds to break.

As for Syn... maybe a polearm of some sort? I suggest a Glaive, since you don't see any here in Outer Cadia and because it may fit (not to mention subtle Sailor Saturn references XD ).

As for Vivio... I'd see her as a more conscious, preppy child Nanoha, really. Nanoha was quite mature-ish for a 9, but she did come across as being a little dense, and I don't really see Vivio like that older. She's probably the type that will 'sigh' at some things her mother would do, but at a necessary time when her mother or anyone important is insulted or hurt, she can probably go 30% of White Devil Mode herself.

Kinda like 70% child Nanoha, 40% Yuuno, 30% White Devil, 20% Fate or something.

Vivio's life is important to her own feelings concerning her mother, so it'll play a huge role in the story.

As for your thoughts on Vivio, except for the "preppy" part, that sounds pretty close. She hates things that seem embarrassing to her. And that last sentence made be lol: 70 + 40 + 30 + 20 = 160. Throw in some Keroko and Hayate for good measure and you have 200% Woman.

Personality:
- Alignment: Chaotic Neutral, whether good or evil depends on whom she’s talking to.

Some things change, some things remain the same. Syn is still every bit a sleepy-head as she used to be, she still has trouble waking up in the mornings and generally takes a little while before she is fully awake.

However, as her closest friend grew and changed over the years, so did Syn. As the taunts grew with the age of those who threw them, so did Syn’s retaliations. Her tongue became sharper, her attitude blunter. Her ‘give others what they give onto you attitude meant that insulting her usually results in getting twice what you threw would end up in a rebound.

Being the ‘toughest victim in the class’ Syn became somewhat of a beacon for those who were constantly bullied. However, it also made her a perfect target for said bullies, and during the years Syn learned the hard way that sometimes you need the punch to back up your mouth. Considering that weapons were forbidden in and around school grounds, this meant meeting said bullied fist-to-fist. The utilization of what little of her affinity she had mastered gave her a desperately needed edge in combat against the tougher bullies. On the flipside, it taught her valuable lessons in the art of combat, even though they were little more impressive then regular school brawls.

As Vivio spiralled more and more down the path of depression, mistrust and self-doupt, Syn worked her way in to the girl, becoming the sole exception to the attitude she radiated towards others. Of course, this did nothing but strengthen the already powerful rumours of the ‘lesbian freak couple’ that surrounded the two, but Syn did not care. Her first priority was getting Vivio back on her feet.

Device: Kyouka is an armed device Syn begged Vivio, who in turn asked Aurion, to create. When activated, Kyouka appears as two gems on the back of black gloves, one for each hand. Kyouka’s main purpose is enhancing Syn’s offensive and defensive capabilities. Kyouka is an intelligent device, addresses Syn as ‘danchou’ when talking, Kyouka generally exhibits a ‘less talk, more action’ personality. Kyouka is also the prime communication link between Syn and Gyou, Syn’s secondary device. Gyou, also created by Aurion, disguised as the eye patch she always wears. In reality Gyou is a data gather and analysis device. Its primary functions include scanning and analyzing opponents, keeping track of target data, and gaining access to more high-secured locations through hacking.

Syn’s combat style is full frontal up close melee. When in combat nothing beats a good pair of limbs. Syn’s combat methods are somewhat special as opposed to what most people practice, though. She has trained her Field-type spells extensively, to the point where they have become her main type of defense, as opposed to Barriers and Shields. There are several reasons for her doing so, the first being that with Field spells, Syn is still able to move as usual while maintaining full body protection. Another reason is that she is able to channel more energy to specific parts of her body to either increase the defense in that area or to release all the energy for extra attack power. All in all Syn is like a bulldozer in melee, of course this specialization resulted in her ranged abilities suffering, but with the resulting power that was a willing price.

Barrier Jacket: Syn’s Barrier Jacket appears as a long black coat with blue linings. The sides of the coat near the hips have armored plating. The coat is always worn open, underneath she is wearing a black shirt and black pants, accenting her already very tomboyish appearance and personality.

Spells:
Attack:
Force Burst: A favorite of Syn, this spell combines a melee punch with a powerful magic shockwave, blasting the enemy away. The punch does not need to hit for the shockwave to work.

Deadly Strave: A magically powered punch, signified by a glowing red aura around Syn’s hand.

Big Bang Impact: Syn’s most powerful spell, it utilizes a combination of magical empowering the punch and gathering as much energy as possible of a Field spell into the fist, before forcefully releasing the Field energy alongside the magical burst. The result is a near explosive melee attack that rivals Divine Buster in strength, and is growing every day.

Quad Burst: Standard multi-target shot. Its range is limited, and Syn can fire and control only up to three shots simultaneously.

Wing Blazer: Standard siege type ‘buster’ attack. Syn forms a magic circle from which the attack is fired.

Support:
Area Awareness: Often confused with Area Search, and with good reason. Similar to Area Search, Syn scouts the area for the targets with the use of magic. The difference is that Area Search uses active search spheres, while Area Awareness relies on sensing the opponents mana, making the spell harder to detect. It is also used to alert Syn of enemy presence in case of combat, hence its name.

Deep Search: In conjunction with Gyou, Syn performs a search into a book, network, database or any other form of information storage. The information extracted is saved into Gyou, and filtered by Kyouka, after which the desired information is displayed to Syn.

Feint Mirage: This spell allows Syn to hide her presence from some forms of scanning equipment or abilities. While it does nothing to hide her from visual, or many of the life sign confirmations, it does allow her to remain undetected to scans from a magic source, and has been known to hide her presence from those who could ‘sense’ it as well.

Drive Move: A speed enhancing move delivering a burst of speed, perfect for closing distances.

EDI: Antagonistic Timeline

FIRST DAY, JUST BEFORE NOON
1: Edi Introduced to characters and explained.
2: Crash convinced to Wing with EDI in mock survival Battle with Nanoha and Fate.
3: Battle Occures, Edi proves to be quite impessive, and attempts to stack the odds in his favor, but ultimately fails against Fate. Crash ends up drawing even With Nanoha, but tagged out by Fate after Crash Effect moment.
4: Edi 'studies' and calculates combat data he recieved from the fight in background of other scenes.
NIGHT
5: Edi hacks internal database for ways to improve performance and comes across mission data for his project. Discovers he is an expendable drone device.
DAY LATER
6: Crash has conversation with EDI. Edi takes this information in.
7: Crash Effect 'breaks' EDI in a sense. EDI finally concludes from parts of his conversation with Crash that he would not like to be considered Expendable.
LATE NIGHT
8: EDI hacks the base network, finds information on Riot Force Six's HQ.
9: EDI takes control of the transporter system in his hanger and finds the Butterfly missiles in storage, loads them.
THREE AM
10: EDI blasts out of his hanger, alerting the entire base Staff. Takes off and is engaged by Yellow 12 and 13 on Patrol. (Both flying MagiTomcats)
11: EDI shoots down Yellow 12 and 13 after short engagement, (Luckly they eject) flies off towards RF 6 HQ.
12: Crash catches up with EDI, attempts to talk him down. EDI explains his logic that if he can engage and defeat some of the TSABs best aces, he can prove that he is not an expendable drone.
13: EDI Goes Hypersonic and outruns CRASH. Shuts down his IFF Transponder. Crash calls back to McGreggor and asks for direct connect to LongArch.
14: Alto picks up at Long Arch, is informed of impending attack. Alert goes up. Nanoha and Fate are actually out on a duty mission for the night.
15: Edi knocks out forward watch station fifty miles out, slows down from hypersonic and comes in low and fast through the Abandoned City. Tracked only by thermal signature Crash sent in to base by MIDSAT B.
16: Crash almost catches up with EDI. Edi forced to engage Shamal and Zafira's barrier defense, uses Butterfly missile to penetrate barrier. First strike hits communications tower with impunity and shocks all defenders.
17: Crash only just catching up, somehow spots Vivio in Nanoha and fate's quaters as EDI fires second butterfly missile directly at the window. Crash panics and Double Mach Strafes for insane last second grab and run. Crash screams at Edi that he's engaging Non Combatants at the same time.
18: EDI discovers via Crash, via Vivio, that Nanoha and Fate aren't there. Hacks LongArch mainframe and discovers their duty position. EDI disengages RF 6 HQ and turns to engage in BVR combat against them, flying off into the distance.
19: Nanoha and Fate have been alerted to the situation up until the com tower's destroyed and are returning.
20: Air Combat Occures mid-way. Edi engages in BVR assault before merging and attacking directly. Intensive study of their actions from the previous fight allows the quantum computer to outpace them from one action to the next, but not overpower them.
21: Fox arrives on scene and intterrupts with another F-14 M, but doesn't last long against the Superior aircraft despite excelent flying skills. Ejects.
22: Edi catches Fox in the auxiliary cockpit unit and claims a hostage and instructs Nanoha and Fate to capitulate the fight, engages in active attack again, only this time Nanoha and Fate cannot return fire.
23: Fox sets to work jacking with the cockpit controls inside the MADCAP, manages to get to a point where she dissables his stronger weapons and jetesons the remaining butterfly missiles.
24: EDI and Nanoha Circle, Nanoha starts reasoning with Edi.
25: Nanoha finally convinces EDI that he has proven himself, and to stand down. EDI Surrenders aircraft control to Fox.
26: Followup scenes discuss entire unfolded scenario...
END OF EDI as Antagonist.

15 years ago, a fire broke out at a high energy plant running an experiment it wasn't supposed to run. We all know that as the Precia incident, the one that killed Alicia.

This is where Rebuilt comes in. My crack says that fire was no mere accident, but a manipulative effort to create the spark that would ravage through vast areas of land. Several leylines that conduct power across had their failsafes sabotaged, and thus reacted violently to an otherwise isolated event.

The final effect was the sacking of by magical fire of several towns and provinces within a 50mile radius, and a slow spreading magical plague that corrupted all life and rendered many more areas inhabitable. Those destroyed in the fire included Renault, Kha's town of birth and hence the last stronghold of Ancient Belka, the original Sankt Alexei Convent.

We now call those places sealed within towering walls of concrete the Plaguelands.

Anatomy of a Plagued Town: Cerulean City

A short drive from the Scarlet Temple that monitors all of the Plagued's activity within the Plaguelands, Cerulean City of Renault is the first abandoned city one encounters. The tall destroyed buildings may be barren on the exterior, but in the daylight that is just a facade that hides the tortured and twisted beings within. At nightfall, these former human beings that we call the Plagued come out to hunt and feed. As they lack the rudimentary intelligence to make tools or do any complicated actions, the wall barriers starting from Scarlet Temple and spreading Westwards and Northwards to the next outpost managed by other groups is enough to contain the threat.

Reclaimation of the Plaguelands

Due to the threat of corruption and from mutated lifeforms, reclaimation of the destroyed areas have been at best slow in progress. Over 15 years, TSAB authorities and Belka officials have worked hard to only reduce the size of the Plaguelands to 45% of the maximum extent. The stubborn core of the Plaguelands still encompasses the provinces of Renault (Southern Plaguelands), Ferrari (Northern Plaguelands) and the Ground Zero of the accident that's sandwiched by the Plaguelands, the magiengineering industrial and residential center, Stratholme.

Reclaimed Lands

Due to safety concerns, no civilian movement are allowed on former Plagueland as the TSAB has imposed a 100 year cooldown on the area so as to be completely sure the land has gone benign. However, the several stretches of abandoned airports and cities have since been earmarked as training ground for TSAB personnel, letting their sometimes wanton training crumble the buildings into powder.

Knights, as part of their training, sometimes make forays into the Plaguelands to complete quests and earn Stars that boost their licence ranking.

Consequences for Late StrikerS

Several other sites, along with some areas within the Plaguelands, soon became the battlegrounds for the Battle of Cradle in late MC 0071. Jail had discovered several weaknesses in the TSAB's ground deployment due to the Reclaimed Lands, and used them to maximum effect, forcing personnel to battle in dangerous no-man's lands. The Reclaimed and Plaguelands also proved to be havens in hiding his stealthed equipment.

By the height of the brief civil war, the TSAB were all but stunned by the sheer amount of resources that Jail had at his disposal, as well as how much he had denied the Midchilda forces.

The Forsaken

Within the last 10 years, a new group of humans emerged in the Plaguelands. Living in the sewer network of Ferrari City, these fortunate individuals who retained their sanity despite the corruption, or had broken free from the Plague's Chaos taint called themselves the Forsaken, and carved out a meagre existence from their new home they call the Undercity.

For years the Scarlet Crusade, a branch of Radical Belka aimed at destroying all of the Plagued, crossed swords with the Forsaken, and it is only recently that under Carym and Kha's brokering, and Celestial Being's repeated intervention, that the Scarlet Crusade and Forsaken were reigned in. While the civilized world continue to hold distain for the contorted Forsaken, at least a fragile peace has settled in on the Plaguelands for the first time in over a decade. And Kha, even though a Cleric-knight himself, is on good terms with the Forsaken leader Lacus Lamperouge and continues to be one of the loudest voices for Forsaken reconciliation in the civilized world.

Forsaken sometimes do show up in the Reclaimed Lands, but as long as they don't get in the way of the TSAB, this truce shall continue...

My View: One idea is that the area around the GC base is basically a dumping ground of old structures- basically, Kha's ideas has the best application so far.

*In front of the new TSAB Council (acutally these guys are the so called "Middle Council", the hidden intermediate between the High Brains and TSAB in general, now elevated due to the "expected" vacuum)*

For those who are out of the loop, Fate had that disease with afflicts all clones born without blessing of the Naaru. In order to fix it, as part of Kha long fight against his destiny, he sacrificed the indomitable "Augen des Gottes", his only attack spell that really had bite and went through great lengths to "rebirth" Fate.

Needless to say, he succeeded. But losing that spell, and having stressed himself to near-unconciousness later almost cost him his life.

Like Mwu la Fllaga. Length of time spent "dead" included.

This is turning out really awesome.

Light-years away, a different door opened.

Vivio stepped inside her home and slid her shoes off, muttering a soft "I'm home." Stepping around the shoes, Vivio thought about walking straight to her room, but thought that maybe she should at least give her mom a cursory hello before starting her homework. Still my mom. She thought to herself as she walked through the corridor to the living room, heading to the kitchen in the back. The TV was on and muted, usually an indicator of Nanoha watching something she didn't like... this meant that she'd be in an even worse mood than normal.

Stopping at the threshold and peeking inside, she saw Nanoha sitting at the dining room table with her back to her daughter, reading a paper; probably work-stuff. This came as no surprise to Vivio; ever since Nanoha had come back from off-world, she landed a desk job in the TSAB facilities here in the city. Though she didn't quite understand it (having heard Nanoha's stories about flying and training others since she was six), she figured that whatever had happened had something to do with her... well, her.

For a while, Vivio said nothing as she watched her mom read. Nanoha was silent as she read, a hand playing with a strand of hair absently. Vivio imagined strained, half-squinted blue-purple eyes peering at the report, analyzing its contents and processing them for future reference. It might have been something for logistics, troop movement on the planet, or simply a memo reminding Nanoha about something important. Regardless, she was totally absorbed into it.

Vivio slowly walked up behind Nanoha, keeping her movements soft and her footsteps light, until she was totally behind her mother. She stretched up on her tiptoes, trying to get a good look at the paper.

April 4th, MC0080? she read. This report is three years old! What's she reading it-

Medical Report on Subject VT-001, Sankt Kaiser

Vivio was suddenly a lot more interested. A medical report about me? What, is there something wrong with me? And why are they calling me by my ancestor name? Narrowing her eyes, she began to read.

Captain Takamachi Nanoha,
This report is classified information, dated April 4th, MC0080, concerning the state of your adopted daughter's physical well-being. No one is allowed to see this report, not even your daughter, nor any higher-ranking friends or family. As such, this document is classified under Code OMICRON, For Your Eyes Only.

Your daughter's physical on March 21st has given the medical department some concern, believed to be related to her status as a biological copy of the Sankt Kaiser. The problem lies within her body's cellular structure; she shows the same problems as subject FT-001 (see the report on Harlown, Fate T. that we have sent you), though at an accelerated rate. We believe this to be because of prisoner JS-823543; he did not create your daughter to be a-

Nanoha suddenly started, grabbing the folder the report came in and throwing it over the papers she was looking at. "How much did you see?!"

The sudden shift in attitude caused Vivio to jump and back away from Nanoha. "Wh-what-"
"How much?!" Nanoha repeated, trying desparately to hide the documents. "You shouldn't do stuff like that, Vivio!"
"What's that report about?" Vivio reasserted herself and took a step forward, quickly shifting from surprised to suspicious. "Why is it calling me 'Sankt Kaiser'? What's wrong with my body?"

"It's nothing for you to worry about, Vivio!" Nanoha answered, picking up the last of the papers and stuffing them in the folder. "It's better if you just forgot about it, okay?"

"What's it about, Mama?" Vivio pressed. "Why won't you let me see? It's about me, my body, don't I deserve to know? Please!"

"..." Nanoha paused, looking away. "Listen, Vivio... I don't want you do know. You don't need to know. I wish I didn't know, either."

"Why is Fate-mama mentioned too?" Nanoha's weak defense had already collapsed; not surprising, as that was far too easy nowadays. "What's this stuff about celluar structures and accelerated rates? Mom, answer me!"

Nanoha simply looked away, unable to meet her daughter's eyes. "I... I can't tell you... I'm sorry."
"Stop apologizing!" Vivio shouted at her, clenching a fist. "Why do you always do this?! Why can't you be normal anymore?!"

"I..." Nanoha seemed on the verge of tears... again. "Vivio, I... I can't, okay? I can't show you."
"..." Vivio narrowed her eyes and lowered them to the ground. "Why are you doing this, mama? What happened to our family? Why are you pushing us all away now? What gives you the right to hurt my feelings this way?!"

"...it will be easier... in the long run," Nanoha said unconvincingly. "For you, and for me."
"Liar," Vivio said, her voice cracking slightly. "I hate this... you've been like this for years... I want my old mama back... not you!" Vivio turned around and stormed out of the kitchen, her hair like fire trailing behind her. Nanoha didn't watch her go, but as she heard Vivio run up the stairs and slam her door shut, she sank to her knees and put a hand to her mouth. The papers she so desparately hid from Vivio dropped to the floor, forgotten, as she sank into deep despair.

"I'm sorry..." she whispered to the air. "I can't protect you anymore... I can't stop destiny, Vivio... and I can't make it less painful," she looked to the floor, her hair falling across her shoulders like water. "I'm so sorry..."

In her room, Vivio, in her rage, threw her satchel at the far wall. She screamed, a cry of sadness of anger, and clenched her fists as tightly as she could and rammed one into the wall next to her door, cracking it vertically and splintering the drywall, forming another sore spot on a wall that already had dozens. Finding solace in the throbbing pain in her hand, Vivio dropped down on her bed. Holding the hand gently, she fought back tears of two different kinds of pain.

"I'm just like her..." she said to herself. Mama, I just want you back... but I can't even look at you without either getting angry. What's wrong with me?! What are you hiding?

Vivio clenched her eyes shut and purged the thoughts from her mind. She was in no mood to think about this; the burning in her chest and the pain in her hand faded as she tried to focus on things that made her happy. Her friend, Syn, her mother, Fate, her sister, Keroko; anything that would take her mind off of the woman who was just below her, letting herself fall into despair.

Vivio swore not to be like that. If she had problems, she would talk about them! That's what family and friends were for! She would refuse to fall into sadness. That was not her! ...right?

Sitting up, Vivio nodded to herself. "Right. I am not her. I am not Nanoha Takamachi. I am Vivio Takamachi," it was the same speech she had given herself hundreds of times. Usually it helped. "I'll be damned if I will end up like that. I don't know what it's going to take, mama, but I know that one day, you'll get out of it..." she looked around her room as she said this - at the holes in the wall, the destroyed objects that littered the floor, the ripped posters and the computer that didn't work because Vivio had decided to throw it at Nanoha one day - and promised herself, not for the first time, that she would stop. "I have to... for her... for Fate-mama... and because it's not worth it, ne?"

She walked over to her satchel and picked it up. "Mama... I love you... really, I do... I just want to work things out between us... between all of us... before something bad happens..." setting the satchel down on her desk, Vivio pulled her cellphone out of her pocket and dialed a number, one that she had memorized. Calming herself down and trying desparately to feel normal, she sat down to do homework. As the phone rang, she picked up a pen and set it next to her left hand. While she reached in her satchel for a book, the other line picked up.

"Hey, V," Syn greeted. "...are you okay?"
"...I did it again," Vivio said after a pause, opening a science text and flipping to the correct page.
"Ah," Syn said. "Who was the victim this time?"
"The wall again," Vivio said almost casually. Pulling a piece of paper from the desk, she began to write and talk at the same time. "I'm sorry, S... I told you I'd stop this."

"And I told you it wouldn't happen overnight, V," Syn said in an almost scolding way. From the sounds in the background, Vivio decided that Syn was at a bus stop; usually the one she took home. "It's only been two weeks since you asked for my help in this. You have to give it time; like I said, you have to vent your anger, talk yourself down, and then talk with someone else about what's wrong. So, spill."

"..." Vivio paused and leaned back in her chair, sitting on two legs. "Well... I saw something today. It was a report from three years back," At the thought of the paper, Vivio felt her anger rising again, but shoved it back down. "It was... about me..."

"Oh?" Syn sounded curious. "What was it about?"
"I'm not sure... Nanoha-mama kind of tried to hide it from me." Vivio began to chew on the end of her pen. "It's really weird... but I wanna know what's in it..."

"That does seems odd," Syn agreed. "What did you see on it?"
"Something about cellular structure, a relation between me and Fate-mama... and something about 'Omicron'-"
"Woah," Syn interrupted. "Omicron? That's one of the highest levels of TSAB security!"
"Is it? I don't know... maybe I read it wrong." Vivio suddenly became worried. What is it? Am I dangerous? Do I have a disease or something? "They listed me as 'Vee Tee dash zero zero one.'"

"I'll look into it," Syn assured her. "If I find out anything, I'll let you know."
"How are you going to find out?" Vivio asked, though she was fairly certain she knew.
"Same way I find everything out! Dad's computer!" Syn said. From the sound of her voice, Vivio knew she was smiling like a Cheshire cat.

"Just don't get caught, S," Vivio told her as she sat the chair back down on four legs and stared at her science book.
"I won't! Trust me, V!"
"...okay." Vivio sighed. "One day, I'm gonna have to bail you out of jail, aren't I?"

"Nah," Syn assured her. "You won't be able to! You'll be sitting next to me in the cell!"
Vivio's eyes widened. "What?"
"Well, you know, I'm sure we'd get in trouble by having sex in the park-"
"Syn!" Vivio gasped, taking the bait. "Why would you-" Vivio was interrupted by Syn's full-throated laughter.
"You believed me again!" Syn said gleefully.
"...you know I'm not in the mood for jokes, Syn..." Vivio huffed.
"Yeah, but you feel better now, don't ya?"

Vivio paused, thinking. She realized that it felt like a small bit of weight had come off of her shoulders. "Uh... well, yeah... I do."

"See? I treat you well, V," Syn said. "Leave it to me to cheer you up, okay?"
"I don't wanna rely solely on you, S," Vivio deadpanned.
"I know, but it's nice to need each other, right?" Syn told her.
"...yeah." Vivio smiled.

"I'll tell you what I find out, V," Syn assured her.
"Okay. I look forward to it, S,".
"Bye, V,"
"Bye, S,"

Vivio hung up the phone and put it down on her desk. She always knows how to make me feel better. she mused as she dived into her homework. I wonder how?

On the floor below, Nanoha lay on the couch with a hand clutching the Sankt Kaiser report tightly. An arm rested on her closed eyes as she wondered if maybe, for once, she should go up to Vivio's room and talk to her.

No... she decided. It would cause too much grief, for either of us...

Rolling over onto her side, Nanoha used both her arms as a pillow, and tried falling asleep.

Damn. That's all I can say. This is just...moving.

I'm no good at putting my feelings into words, but...that's just so...heavy...

Take a scenerio with a single adjustable desk chair in an isolated room.

If TAIS sits in the chair, I'm pretty sure the chair will find some way to slip out from under him or topple unexpectedly.

If CRASH sits in the chair, nothing happens. HOWEVER... Upon finding the chair to be slightly uncomfortable, he'll reach down and grab the adjustment handle.
Now, with normal bad luck, you'd expect the handle to just snap. Not quite. Instead, the air canister that allows you to adjust the chair height will break at the connection point of the handle, causing the canister to depressurize instantly and the chair to settle/collapse under Crash. This in turn would trigger weaker components of the chair to break and snap, resulting in the chair seeming to just fall apart uncerimoniously.

Put these two in the same room together, and TAIS' luck would be the same. However, the resulting effect of that luck would push Crash's aptitude into motion, and trigger a chain reaction that would amplify the results of Tais' luck a hundred fold.


TAIS is a trigger, and Crash is an amplifier.

By himself, Crash is neutral. He destroys propperty, but it somehow never hurts anyone.

Now, if we have someone with GOOD luck, perhaps that could be used to advantage. Have a moment of good luck that seems bad at the start, sends Crash into a trigger for a chain reaction, and watch as it saves their lives by bringing something down on an opponent they hadn't noticed.

In any scenerio case, the whole MOUSETRAP effect would be entertaining to watch. Pure comedy gold.

So these guys together either:

A - Cause cataclysmic destruction by accidentally tripping, etc.
OR
B - Causes the enemy's master setup to randomly and cataclysmically fail?

Hmm, not bad. Must commit that to memory.

Nanoha actually gets worse as Vivio slowly follows, but both of them reach this point (that won't be discussed for spoiler purposes), when the whole thing explodes. Episode 6 is when I'm planning on a lot of major stuff happening, though it all requires the lead-up to it as well.

Asagi was born into the inner circle of wealth via parents Allen and Amelia Colwell, the 4th generation heads of Colwell Heavy Industries, one of the largest manufacturers of heavy industrial and commercial equipment and vehicles in Midchilda. As the only child, and with no male siblings forthcoming, Asagi became the sole heir to her family’s legacy; as such was raised with all the expectations of the day when she would take over responsibility for the multi-million dollar family business.

This decadent and secure lifestyle of preparation and study did not appeal to the young Asagi, who seemed to long for something more, a meaning and purpose to her life beyond the prospect of being heir to the family fortune. Eternally bored and hopelessly apathetic it seemed that she was doomed to a life of predictability and clockwork.

That meaning soon came knocking into her doorstep one day via a visit from her long-time friend Mayura Labatt, who had just returned with her family from a vacation on Earth, the 97th Administered World. Bearing gifts from her trip Mayura excitedly showed off her spoils to the normally uninterested Asagi, one of them being a DVD of an entire season of the live-action show “GoGo Sentai Boukenger” .

It only took 25 minutes. But a burning passion had been ignited. And when she found out that this was only the tip of the iceberg, Asagi was hooked permanently.

Her obsession known as “Super Sentai” was born.

Endowed with the newly inspired values of Courage and Justice, Asagi aspired to become like the transforming heroes she idolized. It helped that she had innate magical aptitude, and had been a prominent figure in sports, particularly the swordsmanship known as “Kendo”. And so despite her parent’s misgivings, she enrolled into the Time Space Administration Bureau Cadet Academy along with her friends Mayura Labatt and Julie Liu Ming to train as Bureau mages at the age of 13.

By this time the events of the Book of Darkness case had accelerated the revival of Belka-style combat magic, and the three girls were chosen to partake in study under the now three-year-old experimental Class 0061-Q, the first batch of cadets to learn the discipline to be known as Neo-Belka. It was here that they displayed their uncanny prowess in close combat and martial arts. Asagi in particular was known as the best swordfighter of the class, and was even considered to be close to the league of known melee specialists like Fate Testarossa and the Wolkenritter Signum… if only she didn’t have a penchant for Super Sentai-inspired theatrics and drama, which earned her and her friends - now calling themselves the “Belkarangers” - equal parts amusement, frustration and disbelief amongst their peers and superiors.

The most memorable of these incidents was during their final live-fire obstacle course, when Asagi, Mayura and Julie performed a 2-minute long flashy transformation and roll call complete with lighting effects and fireworks… in the middle of combat with hundreds of training rounds and ordnance flying everywhere. Incredulously enough, the three girls not only managed to complete the course completely unscathed, but also nabbed the 2nd fastest time for the class, losing only by a couple of seconds to Cadet Glock Heckler.

Nonetheless, Asagi, along with Mayura and Julie graduated with flying colors, and served under the 79th Ground Batallion under General Hiram Maxim’s command for 8 years, alongside squadmates Shinobu Nakajima, Darry Milfuelle, and underlings Remington Smith and Colt Wesson.

They were honorably discharged from service after their mandatory term ended in October MC0072 – only a few weeks before the 79th would be engaged in the “Hell Girl” incident, which would see the loss of many of their former comrades, including the devastating loss of close personal friend Shinobu Nakajima.

In memory of her fallen friend, Asagi has founded the Search Guard Successor Foundation (or S.G.S.), a secret privately-funded freelance organization working closely with the TSAB dedicated to searching for and cataloging Lost Logia (which Asagi refers to by the alternative term “Precious") in the hopes of preventing more Lost Logia incidents from happening. Recently the SGS once lent limited aid to the Bureau’s special taskforce Riot Force 6, providing anonymous tips and information regarding the location of various artifacts and Lost Logia.

Today, Asagi’s Belkarangers continue their hunt for Lost Logia, and fighting to prevent the valued artifacts from falling into the wrong hands… and looking cool, snip and awesome while doing so, in the spirit of the show long ago that changed her life forever.

Seriously, the story is only two chapters at this point. Only the 'starting characters' are unlocked, which is what, 3 out of the possible 40? Besides, I have more tricky and less clear choices comming up. The ones that require you to toss a dice and hope you picked the right one.

EDI: Antagonistic Timeline

FIRST DAY, JUST BEFORE NOON
1: Edi Introduced to characters and explained.
2: Crash convinced to Wing with EDI in mock survival Battle with Nanoha and Fate.
3: Battle Occures, Edi proves to be quite impessive, and attempts to stack the odds in his favor, but ultimately fails against Fate. Crash ends up drawing even With Nanoha, but tagged out by Fate after Crash Effect moment.
4: Edi 'studies' and calculates combat data he recieved from the fight in background of other scenes.
NIGHT
5: Edi hacks internal database for ways to improve performance and comes across mission data for his project. Discovers he is an expendable drone device.
DAY LATER
6: Crash has conversation with EDI. Edi takes this information in.
7: Crash Effect 'breaks' EDI in a sense. EDI finally concludes from parts of his conversation with Crash that he would not like to be considered Expendable.
LATE NIGHT
8: EDI hacks the base network, finds information on Riot Force Six's HQ.
9: EDI takes control of the transporter system in his hanger and finds the Butterfly missiles in storage, loads them.
THREE AM
10: EDI blasts out of his hanger, alerting the entire base Staff. Takes off and is engaged by Yellow 12 and 13 on Patrol. (Both flying MagiTomcats)
11: EDI shoots down Yellow 12 and 13 after short engagement, (Luckly they eject) flies off towards RF 6 HQ.
12: Crash catches up with EDI, attempts to talk him down. EDI explains his logic that if he can engage and defeat some of the TSABs best aces, he can prove that he is not an expendable drone.
13: EDI Goes Hypersonic and outruns CRASH. Shuts down his IFF Transponder. Crash calls back to McGreggor and asks for direct connect to LongArch.
14: Alto picks up at Long Arch, is informed of impending attack. Alert goes up. Nanoha and Fate are actually out on a duty mission for the night.
15: Edi knocks out forward watch station fifty miles out, slows down from hypersonic and comes in low and fast through the Abandoned City. Tracked only by thermal signature Crash sent in to base by MIDSAT B.
16: Crash almost catches up with EDI. Edi forced to engage Shamal and Zafira's barrier defense, uses Butterfly missile to penetrate barrier. First strike hits communications tower with impunity and shocks all defenders.
17: Crash only just catching up, somehow spots Vivio in Nanoha and fate's quaters as EDI fires second butterfly missile directly at the window. Crash panics and Double Mach Strafes for insane last second grab and run. Crash screams at Edi that he's engaging Non Combatants at the same time.
18: EDI discovers via Crash, via Vivio, that Nanoha and Fate aren't there. Hacks LongArch mainframe and discovers their duty position. EDI disengages RF 6 HQ and turns to engage in BVR combat against them, flying off into the distance.
19: Nanoha and Fate have been alerted to the situation up until the com tower's destroyed and are returning.
20: Air Combat Occures mid-way. Edi engages in BVR assault before merging and attacking directly. Intensive study of their actions from the previous fight allows the quantum computer to outpace them from one action to the next, but not overpower them.
21: Fox arrives on scene and intterrupts with another F-14 M, but doesn't last long against the Superior aircraft despite excelent flying skills. Ejects.
22: Edi catches Fox in the auxiliary cockpit unit and claims a hostage and instructs Nanoha and Fate to capitulate the fight, engages in active attack again, only this time Nanoha and Fate cannot return fire.
23: Fox sets to work jacking with the cockpit controls inside the MADCAP, manages to get to a point where she dissables his stronger weapons and jetesons the remaining butterfly missiles.
24: EDI and Nanoha Circle, Nanoha starts reasoning with Edi.
25: Nanoha finally convinces EDI that he has proven himself, and to stand down. EDI Surrenders aircraft control to Fox.
26: Followup scenes discuss entire unfolded scenario...
END OF EDI as Antagonist.

Acceptable firepower and plot line?

What troubles me is that they gave an AI access to conventional weaponry. Such things shouldn't even have made it past the planning stage, much less actuall production. I mean, this entire debacle shows the entire point of why the TSAB uses mages, as giving AI access to such deadly weaponry can lead to disaster. At least with devices, the device can't do anything without the mage.

Time for the first post of my new OC

Around the surface of the planet labeled Administered Planet 67, its inhabitants went about their daily business. Construction continued on the new high-rises around the major cities, the adults mingled to and from work, and children sat awake in their classrooms ready for another day of learning. Well, most of them anyway. The situation at the main TSAB research facility on the other hand was another story. Researchers, office personnel, and security were rushing about to prepare for the live demonstration of their Project DenLiner. What would have been a simple systems test was amplified by interest in the latest development by the higher ups in the TSAB. Thus they had been notified a few days prior that several TSAB officers would be arriving to oversee the test and report back their evaluation of the ‘revolutionary’ system. Needless to say that opened up a large can of worms.

The rising of the sun to its apex and the heavily escorted convoy of TSAB vehicles meant that they were out of time to prepare. Guards and the few TSAB members on site were quick to assemble and salute the approaching cars. Technicians scrambled around the testing field for final checks on the equipment for the fourth time. This would be the first time such high ranking officials have come to their lowly building and they weren’t going to screw it up.

Doors opened from the three cars, allowing the TSAB officials inside to meet out into the cool air. The security head was the first to greet them, dressed in his best uniform. To hold up appearances he personally escorted the trio through the building to the observation deck in the rear. He did his best to answer any question they might have along the way about their research or world, as well as struggling to maintain his professional and calm demeanor.

Normally the observation deck was untidy, littered with random readouts, cans, bottles, and miscellaneous data collection equipment. What greeted the guests was something radically different. Several padded chairs lined the protective shielding that overlooked the test field below. All the random clutter was cleaned out, revealing the highly polished floor that no one had been in ages. A lone figure stood waiting for them in the corner next to the shielding. She stood at an average height dressed in a dark blue blouse and black formal skirt. Her hands were tucked casually in the pockets of the lab coat, which her co-workers were unable to convince her not to wear, worn over her clothes. A smile formed on her lips as she welcomed the guests.

“Ah, good afternoon Admiral Janeway, Admiral Harlawown, and General Gaiz. Welcome to our humble facility.”

The trio nodded to the false-blonde.

“Thank you Doctor Akagi,” politely responds Chrono, “I believe you have something you would like to show us?”

“Yes, we do,” she quickly responds and gestures for them to sit, “As you are well aware, several years of research and testing on Project DenLiner have recently yielded fruit. Mages today face countless challenges in combat situations and are limited in what they can do because of their Devices. The limited capacity of modern Device AIs to process and support only one class of magic hinders a mage from expanding and finding their potential. Project DenLiner seeks to bring an end to those limitations. By incorporating multiple AIs into a Device, a mage is able to use multiple classes of magic at their peak potential without putting a lot of strain on themselves or their Devices. Although limited in its current state, we have managed to incorporate four independent AIs into a Device with three of them specializing in anti-AMF combat.”

“Anti-AMF combat?” questions Janeway.

“Yes, with the rise of use of AMFs by these Gadget Drones we sought to also find a solution. Rather than relying on the conventional use of mid- and long-range combat, Project DenLiner makes use of augmenting close-combat weapons with magic. In this way the user’s combat efficiency isn’t hampered by the standard AMF.”

That seemed to grab their attention as the trio nodded. Even the gruff Regius seemed mildly interested now.

“But words are merely words unless they can be proven. So if you would please turn your attention to the testing field in front of you…”

Three sets of eyes turned and found the empty field to be no longer as empty. A young man stood out in the middle of the artificially covered ground in a standard TSAB uniform. A black object was gripped in his right hand.

“Our testing field uses the same solid-holographic projection system of the TSAB training facilities. For today’s demonstration we will be using the default field so you may view the test without any obstructions.”

Red lights around the perimeter of the field flashed in sequence, announcing the start of the demonstration. In the middle of it all, Ryotaro held the pass to his side and took a breath. The belt materializes around his waist and he presses the red button with his free hand.

“Henshin.”

He swipes the black Pass over the Terminal Buckle, calling forth the red Barrier Jacket.

Sword Form.

Above the field, the spectators watch and look over the rather unique Barrier Jacket design. It was fairly distinct and unlike the Barrier Jackets they were used to seeing.

“Ore…Sanjou!”

All three turned to look at the nervously laughing doctor after seeing the mage pose rather dramatically.

‘I am SO gonna kill him…’

The demonstration continued with several groups of oval-shaped drones appearing from the edges of the field and easily being dispatched in close-range combat solely by the DenGasher. As he sliced cleanly through another drone, incoming fire forced him to roll to the side and assess the new threat. Several large spherical drones floated onto the field and fired. Ryotaro knew from previous training sessions that they had a reinforced shield and required a bit more ‘persuasion’ to take down. Rolling past another burst of fire, he presses the yellow button on the Terminal Buckle and swipes the Pass.

Axe Form.

Red armor segments shift and morph to their new yellow configuration with Ryotaro quickly rearranging the DenGasher to a different configuration. Satisfied with the axe in his hands, he charges the nearest drone and slams the magic-reinforced blade into its shielding. The yellow barrier strains for a moment before shattering, allowing the axe to continue on its way and cleave the drone in two.

“While not radically different than Sword Form, Axe Form specializes in barrier penetration and strength augmentation.”

The group continues to observe the now yellow figure cleave its way through the large drones with ease. As he bisects the last drone, several groups of aerial drones materialize above the field and start diving runs at their intended target below.

Rod Form.

Yellow gives way to blue in his new Barrier Jacket configuration. He quickly reconfigures the DenGasher into an almost 2 meter long rod with bladed edge and takes out a diving drone. Several more attempt to dive and fire, only to be skewered by the bladed edge at range. Finding the current tactic unsuccessful, three groups of aerial drones maintain their altitude and bombard the field with their blasts.

Gun Form.

The barrier Jacket shifts yet again to purple with two plates on the front folding open. Ryotaro returns fire with the now gun mode DenGasher at the drones above as they take evasive maneuvers to try and avoid the incoming fire.

“We also realized that ranged combat is just as important as close-range combat so we developed the Gun Form to fulfill this need. This form is also able to take out a large group from range.”

Receiving the confirmation command from above, Ryotaro swipes the Pass over the Terminal Buckle.

Full Charge.

The remaining aerial drone swing around for another strafing run high above the testing field. On the ground Ryotaro grips the DenGasher with both hands and takes aim. The two orbs on the open chest panels glow and channel magic to the front of the barrel.

Wild Shot.

He pulls the trigger and sends the almost meter wide sphere of purple, concentrated magic at them. They try to veer away, but the attack impacts an aerial drone on the end and detonates, enveloping them all in the massive explosion.

“That was quite an impressive demonstration, Doctor Akagi.”

“Thank you Admiral Janeway. Now, if you’ll follow me to the debriefing room…”

After the debriefing the officers received a full tour of the facility before departing. For everyone they were finally able to breath a sigh of relief. All in all, everything seemed to go well with no problems. Well...almost everyone.

"I said I'm sorry!" cries out Ryotaro as he skids around another corner with an angry false-blonde doctor hot on his heels with a broom stick.

"What the HELL was with that Sanjou crap?! I TOLD you not to DO THAT!"

… or at least, that’s what Asagi would want you to believe.

Asagi was born into the inner circle of wealth via parents Allen and Amelia Colwell, the 4th generation heads of Colwell Heavy Industries, one of the largest manufacturers of heavy industrial and commercial equipment and vehicles in Midchilda. As the only child, and with no male siblings forthcoming, Asagi became the sole heir to her family’s legacy; as such was raised with all the expectations of the day when she would take over responsibility for the multi-million dollar family business.

This decadent and secure lifestyle of preparation and study did not appeal to the young Asagi, who seemed to long for something more, a meaning and purpose to her life beyond the prospect of being heir to the family fortune. Eternally bored and hopelessly apathetic it seemed that she was doomed to a life of predictability and clockwork.

That meaning soon came knocking into her doorstep one day via a visit from her long-time friend Mayura Labatt, who had just returned with her family from a vacation on Earth, the 97th Administered World. Bearing gifts from her trip Mayura excitedly showed off her spoils to the normally uninterested Asagi, one of them being a DVD of an entire season of the live-action show “GoGo Sentai Boukenger” .

It only took 25 minutes. But a burning passion had been ignited. And when she found out that this was only the tip of the iceberg, Asagi was hooked permanently.

Her obsession known as “Super Sentai” was born.

Endowed with the newly inspired values of Courage and Justice, Asagi aspired to become like the transforming heroes she idolized. It helped that she had innate magical aptitude, and had been a prominent figure in sports, particularly the swordsmanship known as “Kendo”. And so despite her parent’s misgivings, she enrolled into the Time Space Administration Bureau Cadet Academy along with her friends Mayura Labatt and Julie Liu Ming to train as Bureau mages at the age of 13.

By this time the events of the Book of Darkness case had accelerated the revival of Belka-style combat magic, and the three girls were chosen to partake in study under the now three-year-old experimental Class 0061-Q, the first batch of cadets to learn the discipline to be known as Neo-Belka. It was here that they displayed their uncanny prowess in close combat and martial arts. Asagi in particular was known as the best swordfighter of the class, and was even considered to be close to the league of known melee specialists like Fate Testarossa and the Wolkenritter Signum… if only she didn’t have a penchant for Super Sentai-inspired theatrics and drama, which earned her and her friends - now calling themselves the “Belkarangers” - equal parts amusement, frustration and disbelief amongst their peers and superiors.

The most memorable of these incidents was during their final live-fire obstacle course, when Asagi, Mayura and Julie performed a 2-minute long flashy transformation and roll call complete with lighting effects and fireworks… in the middle of combat with hundreds of training rounds and ordnance flying everywhere. Incredulously enough, the three girls not only managed to complete the course completely unscathed, but also nabbed the 2nd fastest time for the class, losing only by a couple of seconds to Cadet Glock Heckler.

“You know what I’m gonna say about that Kay.”

“I didn’t say anything. See?”

With tongue in cheek, Kay continued typing.

Nonetheless, Asagi, along with Mayura and Julie graduated with flying colors, and served under the 79th Ground Batallion under General Hiram Maxim’s command for 8 years, alongside squadmates Shinobu Nakajima, Darry Milfuelle, and underlings Remington Smith and Colt Wesson.

They were honorably discharged from service after their mandatory term ended in October MC0072 – only a few weeks before the 79th would be engaged in the “Hell Girl” incident, which would see the loss of many of their former comrades, including the devastating loss of close personal friend Shinobu Nakajima.

In memory of her fallen friend, Asagi has founded the Search Guard Successor Foundation (or S.G.S.), a secret privately-funded freelance organization working closely with the TSAB dedicated to searching for and cataloging Lost Logia (which Asagi refers to by the alternative term “Precious") in the hopes of preventing more Lost Logia incidents from happening. Recently the SGS once lent limited aid to the Bureau’s special taskforce Riot Force 6, providing anonymous tips and information regarding the location of various artifacts and Lost Logia.

Today, Asagi’s Belkarangers continue their hunt for Lost Logia, and fighting to prevent the valued artifacts from falling into the wrong hands… and looking cool, snip and awesome while doing so, in the spirit of the show long ago that changed her life forever.

Some things change, some things remain the same. Syn is still every bit a sleepy-head as she used to be, she still has trouble waking up in the mornings and generally takes a little while before she is fully awake.

However, as her closest friend grew and changed over the years, so did Syn. As the taunts grew with the age of those who threw them, so did Syn’s retaliations. Her tongue became sharper, her attitude blunter. Her ‘give others what they give onto you attitude meant that insulting her usually results in getting twice what you threw would end up in a rebound.

Being the ‘toughest victim in the class’ Syn became somewhat of a beacon for those who were constantly bullied. However, it also made her a perfect target for said bullies, and during the years Syn learned the hard way that sometimes you need the punch to back up your mouth. Considering that weapons were forbidden in and around school grounds, this meant meeting said bullied fist-to-fist. The utilization of what little of her affinity she had mastered gave her a desperately needed edge in combat against the tougher bullies. On the flipside, it taught her valuable lessons in the art of combat, even though they were little more impressive then regular school brawls.

As Vivio spiralled more and more down the path of depression, mistrust and self-doupt, Syn worked her way in to the girl, becoming the sole exception to the attitude she radiated towards others. Of course, this did nothing but strengthen the already powerful rumours of the ‘lesbian freak couple’ that surrounded the two, but Syn did not care. Her first priority was getting Vivio back on her feet.

Around the surface of the planet labeled Administered Planet 67, its inhabitants went about their daily business. Construction continued on the new high-rises around the major cities, the adults mingled to and from work, and children sat awake in their classrooms ready for another day of learning. Well, most of them anyway. The situation at the main TSAB research facility on the other hand was another story. Researchers, office personnel, and security were rushing about to prepare for the live demonstration of their Project DenLiner. What would have been a simple systems test was amplified by interest in the latest development by the higher ups in the TSAB. Thus they had been notified a few days prior that several TSAB officers would be arriving to oversee the test and report back their evaluation of the ‘revolutionary’ system. Needless to say that opened up a large can of worms.

The rising of the sun to its apex and the heavily escorted convoy of TSAB vehicles meant that they were out of time to prepare. Guards and the few TSAB members on site were quick to assemble and salute the approaching cars. Technicians scrambled around the testing field for final checks on the equipment for the fourth time. This would be the first time such high ranking officials have come to their lowly building and they weren’t going to screw it up.

Doors opened from the three cars, allowing the TSAB officials inside to meet out into the cool air. The security head was the first to greet them, dressed in his best uniform. To hold up appearances he personally escorted the trio through the building to the observation deck in the rear. He did his best to answer any question they might have along the way about their research or world, as well as struggling to maintain his professional and calm demeanor.

Normally the observation deck was untidy, littered with random readouts, cans, bottles, and miscellaneous data collection equipment. What greeted the guests was something radically different. Several padded chairs lined the protective shielding that overlooked the test field below. All the random clutter was cleaned out, revealing the highly polished floor that no one had been in ages. A lone figure stood waiting for them in the corner next to the shielding. She stood at an average height dressed in a dark blue blouse and black formal skirt. Her hands were tucked casually in the pockets of the lab coat, which her co-workers were unable to convince her not to wear, worn over her clothes. A smile formed on her lips as she welcomed the guests.

“Ah, good afternoon Admiral Janeway, Admiral Harlawown, and General Gaiz. Welcome to our humble facility.”

The trio nodded to the false-blonde.

“Thank you Doctor Akagi,” politely responds Chrono, “I believe you have something you would like to show us?”

“Yes, we do,” she quickly responds and gestures for them to sit, “As you are well aware, several years of research and testing on Project DenLiner have recently yielded fruit. Mages today face countless challenges in combat situations and are limited in what they can do because of their Devices. The limited capacity of modern Device AIs to process and support only one class of magic hinders a mage from expanding and finding their potential. Project DenLiner seeks to bring an end to those limitations. By incorporating multiple AIs into a Device, a mage is able to use multiple classes of magic at their peak potential without putting a lot of strain on themselves or their Devices. Although limited in its current state, we have managed to incorporate four independent AIs into a Device with three of them specializing in anti-AMF combat.”

“Anti-AMF combat?” questions Janeway.

“Yes, with the rise of use of AMFs by these Gadget Drones we sought to also find a solution. Rather than relying on the conventional use of mid- and long-range combat, Project DenLiner makes use of augmenting close-combat weapons with magic. In this way the user’s combat efficiency isn’t hampered by the standard AMF.”

That seemed to grab their attention as the trio nodded. Even the gruff Regius seemed mildly interested now.

“But words are merely words unless they can be proven. So if you would please turn your attention to the testing field in front of you…”

Three sets of eyes turned and found the empty field to be no longer as empty. A young man stood out in the middle of the artificially covered ground in a standard TSAB uniform. A black object was gripped in his right hand.

“Our testing field uses the same solid-holographic projection system of the TSAB training facilities. For today’s demonstration we will be using the default field so you may view the test without any obstructions.”

Red lights around the perimeter of the field flashed in sequence, announcing the start of the demonstration. In the middle of it all, Ryotaro held the pass to his side and took a breath. The belt materializes around his waist and he presses the red button with his free hand.

“Henshin.”

He swipes the black Pass over the Terminal Buckle, calling forth the red Barrier Jacket.

Sword Form.

Above the field, the spectators watch and look over the rather unique Barrier Jacket design. It was fairly distinct and unlike the Barrier Jackets they were used to seeing.

“Ore…Sanjou!”

All three turned to look at the nervously laughing doctor after seeing the mage pose rather dramatically.

‘I am SO gonna kill him…’

The demonstration continued with several groups of oval-shaped drones appearing from the edges of the field and easily being dispatched in close-range combat solely by the DenGasher. As he sliced cleanly through another drone, incoming fire forced him to roll to the side and assess the new threat. Several large spherical drones floated onto the field and fired. Ryotaro knew from previous training sessions that they had a reinforced shield and required a bit more ‘persuasion’ to take down. Rolling past another burst of fire, he presses the yellow button on the Terminal Buckle and swipes the Pass.

Axe Form.

Red armor segments shift and morph to their new yellow configuration with Ryotaro quickly rearranging the DenGasher to a different configuration. Satisfied with the axe in his hands, he charges the nearest drone and slams the magic-reinforced blade into its shielding. The yellow barrier strains for a moment before shattering, allowing the axe to continue on its way and cleave the drone in two.

“While not radically different than Sword Form, Axe Form specializes in barrier penetration and strength augmentation.”

The group continues to observe the now yellow figure cleave its way through the large drones with ease. As he bisects the last drone, several groups of aerial drones materialize above the field and start diving runs at their intended target below.

Rod Form.

Yellow gives way to blue in his new Barrier Jacket configuration. He quickly reconfigures the DenGasher into an almost 2 meter long rod with laded edge and takes out a diving drone. Several more attempt to dive and fire, only to be skewered by the bladed edge at range. Finding the current tactic unsuccessful, three groups of aerial drones maintain their altitude and bombard the field with their blasts.

Gun Form.

The barrier Jacket shifts yet again to purple with two plates on the front folding open. Ryotaro returns fire with the now gun mode DenGasher at the drones above as they take evasive maneuvers to try and avoid the incoming fire.

“We also realized that ranged combat is just as important as close-range combat so we developed the Gun Form to fulfill this need. This form is also able to take out a large group from range.”

Receiving the confirmation command from above, Ryotaro swipes the Pass over the Terminal Buckle.

Full Charge.

The remaining aerial drone swing around for another strafing run high above the testing field. On the ground Ryotaro grips the DenGasher with both hands and takes aim. The two orbs on the open chest panels glow and channel magic to the front of the barrel.

Wild Shot.

He pulls the trigger and sends the almost meter wide sphere of purple, concentrated magic at them. They try to veer away, but the attack impacts an aerial drone on the end and detonates, enveloping them all in the massive explosion.

“That was quite an impressive demonstration, Doctor Akagi.”

“Thank you Admiral Janeway. Now, if you’ll follow me to the debriefing room…”

After the debriefing the officers received a full tour of the facility before departing. For everyone they were finally able to breath a sigh of relief. All in all, everything seemed to go well with no problems. Well...almost everyone.

"I said I'm sorry!" cries out Ryotaro as he skids around another corner with an angry false-blonde doctor hot on his heels with a broom stick.

"What the HELL was with that Sanjou crap?! I TOLD you not to DO THAT!"

"Help me!!"

EDI: Antagonistic Timeline

FIRST DAY, JUST BEFORE NOON
1: Edi Introduced to characters and explained.
2: Crash convinced to Wing with EDI in mock survival Battle with Nanoha and Fate.
3: Battle Occures, Edi proves to be quite impessive, and attempts to stack the odds in his favor, but ultimately fails against Fate. Crash ends up drawing even With Nanoha, but tagged out by Fate after Crash Effect moment.
4: Edi 'studies' and calculates combat data he recieved from the fight in background of other scenes.
NIGHT
5: Edi hacks internal database for ways to improve performance and comes across mission data for his project. Discovers he is an expendable drone device.
DAY LATER
6: Crash has conversation with EDI. Edi takes this information in.
7: Crash Effect 'breaks' EDI in a sense. EDI finally concludes from parts of his conversation with Crash that he would not like to be considered Expendable.
LATE NIGHT
8: EDI hacks the base network, finds information on Riot Force Six's HQ.
9: EDI takes control of the transporter system in his hanger and finds the Butterfly missiles in storage, loads them.
THREE AM
10: EDI blasts out of his hanger, alerting the entire base Staff. Takes off and is engaged by Yellow 12 and 13 on Patrol. (Both flying MagiTomcats)
11: EDI shoots down Yellow 12 and 13 after short engagement, (Luckly they eject) flies off towards RF 6 HQ.
12: Crash catches up with EDI, attempts to talk him down. EDI explains his logic that if he can engage and defeat some of the TSABs best aces, he can prove that he is not an expendable drone.
13: EDI Goes Hypersonic and outruns CRASH. Shuts down his IFF Transponder. Crash calls back to McGreggor and asks for direct connect to LongArch.
14: Alto picks up at Long Arch, is informed of impending attack. Alert goes up. Nanoha and Fate are actually out on a duty mission for the night.
15: Edi knocks out forward watch station fifty miles out, slows down from hypersonic and comes in low and fast through the Abandoned City. Tracked only by thermal signature Crash sent in to base by MIDSAT B.
16: Crash almost catches up with EDI. Edi forced to engage Shamal and Zafira's barrier defense, uses Butterfly missile to penetrate barrier. First strike hits communications tower with impunity and shocks all defenders.
17: Crash only just catching up, somehow spots Vivio in Nanoha and fate's quaters as EDI fires second butterfly missile directly at the window. Crash panics and Double Mach Strafes for insane last second grab and run. Crash screams at Edi that he's engaging Non Combatants at the same time.
18: EDI discovers via Crash, via Vivio, that Nanoha and Fate aren't there. Hacks LongArch mainframe and discovers their duty position. EDI disengages RF 6 HQ and turns to engage in BVR combat against them, flying off into the distance.
19: Nanoha and Fate have been alerted to the situation up until the com tower's destroyed and are returning.
20: Air Combat Occures mid-way. Edi engages in BVR assault before merging and attacking directly. Intensive study of their actions from the previous fight allows the quantum computer to outpace them from one action to the next, but not overpower them.
21: Fox arrives on scene and intterrupts with another F-14 M, but doesn't last long against the Superior aircraft despite excelent flying skills. Ejects.
22: Edi catches Fox in the auxiliary cockpit unit and claims a hostage and instructs Nanoha and Fate to capitulate the fight, engages in active attack again, only this time Nanoha and Fate cannot return fire.
23: Fox sets to work jacking with the cockpit controls inside the MADCAP, manages to get to a point where she dissables his stronger weapons and jetesons the remaining butterfly missiles.
24: EDI and Nanoha Circle, Nanoha starts reasoning with Edi.
25: Nanoha finally convinces EDI that he has proven himself, and to stand down. EDI Surrenders aircraft control to Fox.
26: Followup scenes discuss entire unfolded scenario...
END OF EDI as Antagonist.

Around the surface of the planet labeled Administered Planet 67, its inhabitants went about their daily business. Construction continued on the new high-rises around the major cities, the adults mingled to and from work, and children sat awake in their classrooms ready for another day of learning. Well, most of them anyway. The situation at the main TSAB research facility on the other hand was another story. Researchers, office personnel, and security were rushing about to prepare for the live demonstration of their Project DenLiner. What would have been a simple systems test was amplified by interest in the latest development by the higher ups in the TSAB. Thus they had been notified a few days prior that several TSAB officers would be arriving to oversee the test and report back their evaluation of the ‘revolutionary’ system. Needless to say that opened up a large can of worms.

The rising of the sun to its apex and the heavily escorted convoy of TSAB vehicles meant that they were out of time to prepare. Guards and the few TSAB members on site were quick to assemble and salute the approaching cars. Technicians scrambled around the testing field for final checks on the equipment for the fourth time. This would be the first time such high ranking officials have come to their lowly building and they weren’t going to screw it up.

Doors opened from the three cars, allowing the TSAB officials inside to meet out into the cool air. The security head was the first to greet them, dressed in his best uniform. To hold up appearances he personally escorted the trio through the building to the observation deck in the rear. He did his best to answer any question they might have along the way about their research or world, as well as struggling to maintain his professional and calm demeanor.

Normally the observation deck was untidy, littered with random readouts, cans, bottles, and miscellaneous data collection equipment. What greeted the guests was something radically different. Several padded chairs lined the protective shielding that overlooked the test field below. All the random clutter was cleaned out, revealing the highly polished floor that no one had been in ages. A lone figure stood waiting for them in the corner next to the shielding. She stood at an average height dressed in a dark blue blouse and black formal skirt. Her hands were tucked casually in the pockets of the lab coat, which her co-workers were unable to convince her not to wear, worn over her clothes. A smile formed on her lips as she welcomed the guests.

“Ah, good afternoon Admiral Janeway, Admiral Harlawown, and General Gaiz. Welcome to our humble facility.”

The trio nodded to the false-blonde.

“Thank you Doctor Akagi,” politely responds Chrono, “I believe you have something you would like to show us?”

“Yes, we do,” she quickly responds and gestures for them to sit, “As you are well aware, several years of research and testing on Project DenLiner have recently yielded fruit. Mages today face countless challenges in combat situations and are limited in what they can do because of their Devices. The limited capacity of modern Device AIs to process and support only one class of magic hinders a mage from expanding and finding their potential. Project DenLiner seeks to bring an end to those limitations. By incorporating multiple AIs into a Device, a mage is able to use multiple classes of magic at their peak potential without putting a lot of strain on themselves or their Devices. Although limited in its current state, we have managed to incorporate four independent AIs into a Device with three of them specializing in anti-AMF combat.”

“Anti-AMF combat?” questions Janeway.

“Yes, with the rise of use of AMFs by these Gadget Drones we sought to also find a solution. Rather than relying on the conventional use of mid- and long-range combat, Project DenLiner makes use of augmenting close-combat weapons with magic. In this way the user’s combat efficiency isn’t hampered by the standard AMF.”

That seemed to grab their attention as the trio nodded. Even the gruff Regius seemed mildly interested now.

“But words are merely words unless they can be proven. So if you would please turn your attention to the testing field in front of you…”

Three sets of eyes turned and found the empty field to be no longer as empty. A young man stood out in the middle of the artificially covered ground in a standard TSAB uniform. A black object was gripped in his right hand.

“Our testing field uses the same solid-holographic projection system of the TSAB training facilities. For today’s demonstration we will be using the default field so you may view the test without any obstructions.”

Red lights around the perimeter of the field flashed in sequence, announcing the start of the demonstration. In the middle of it all, Ryotaro held the pass to his side and took a breath. The belt materializes around his waist and he presses the red button with his free hand.

“Henshin.”

He swipes the black Pass over the Terminal Buckle, calling forth the red Barrier Jacket.

Sword Form.

Above the field, the spectators watch and look over the rather unique Barrier Jacket design. It was fairly distinct and unlike the Barrier Jackets they were used to seeing.

“Ore…Sanjou!”

All three turned to look at the nervously laughing doctor after seeing the mage pose rather dramatically.

‘I am SO gonna kill him…’

The demonstration continued with several groups of oval-shaped drones appearing from the edges of the field and easily being dispatched in close-range combat solely by the DenGasher. As he sliced cleanly through another drone, incoming fire forced him to roll to the side and assess the new threat. Several large spherical drones floated onto the field and fired. Ryotaro knew from previous training sessions that they had a reinforced shield and required a bit more ‘persuasion’ to take down. Rolling past another burst of fire, he presses the yellow button on the Terminal Buckle and swipes the Pass.

Axe Form.

Red armor segments shift and morph to their new yellow configuration with Ryotaro quickly rearranging the DenGasher to a different configuration. Satisfied with the axe in his hands, he charges the nearest drone and slams the magic-reinforced blade into its shielding. The yellow barrier strains for a moment before shattering, allowing the axe to continue on its way and cleave the drone in two.

“While not radically different than Sword Form, Axe Form specializes in barrier penetration and strength augmentation.”

The group continues to observe the now yellow figure cleave its way through the large drones with ease. As he bisects the last drone, several groups of aerial drones materialize above the field and start diving runs at their intended target below.

Rod Form.

Yellow gives way to blue in his new Barrier Jacket configuration. He quickly reconfigures the DenGasher into an almost 2 meter long rod with laded edge and takes out a diving drone. Several more attempt to dive and fire, only to be skewered by the bladed edge at range. Finding the current tactic unsuccessful, three groups of aerial drones maintain their altitude and bombard the field with their blasts.

Gun Form.

The barrier Jacket shifts yet again to purple with two plates on the front folding open. Ryotaro returns fire with the now gun mode DenGasher at the drones above as they take evasive maneuvers to try and avoid the incoming fire.

“We also realized that ranged combat is just as important as close-range combat so we developed the Gun Form to fulfill this need. This form is also able to take out a large group from range.”

Receiving the confirmation command from above, Ryotaro swipes the Pass over the Terminal Buckle.

Full Charge.

The remaining aerial drone swing around for another strafing run high above the testing field. On the ground Ryotaro grips the DenGasher with both hands and takes aim. The two orbs on the open chest panels glow and channel magic to the front of the barrel.

Wild Shot.

He pulls the trigger and sends the almost meter wide sphere of purple, concentrated magic at them. They try to veer away, but the attack impacts an aerial drone on the end and detonates, enveloping them all in the massive explosion.

“That was quite an impressive demonstration, Doctor Akagi.”

“Thank you Admiral Janeway. Now, if you’ll follow me to the debriefing room…”

After the debriefing the officers received a full tour of the facility before departing. For everyone they were finally able to breath a sigh of relief. All in all, everything seemed to go well with no problems. Well...almost everyone.

"I said I'm sorry!" cries out Ryotaro as he skids around another corner with an angry false-blonde doctor hot on his heels with a broom stick.

"What the HELL was with that Sanjou crap?! I TOLD you not to DO THAT!"

"Help me!!"

What's this? Admiral Janeway? What?

Remnants of the old war decades and decades ago. The way it's constructed, only the central parts of Cranagan City seems to be fully rebuilt and furnished like a city.

Either restoration of old blocks are not neccesary due to usage as training grounds or no need due to population, among other things. It's not clearly explained.

Story-wise, it's just an excuse to have the battle in Mid-childa without having to resort to 'omg we destroyed public property.'

Or maybe no one wants to live there.... like the refugee slums in GITS which used to be Tokyo & Osaka.

Just a note: your charecters need not be AAA or S or SS; the OFM is basically about a bunch of A and B-ranks.... the B-ranks are mostly the guys, the girls are almost all A and heading to AA, there's only one guy who's S and we don't write much about him... Master Chief is B. (Then again, he's so badass he doesn't really need magic.)

Thus, we've got two possibilities... the OFM doing Mandy a favor, which will be later cashed in for Master Chief, or Mandy calling in a favor from the OFM (which was Master Chief.) <.<

Me? I can't stand Super Sentai... at least, when they're taking themselves seriously. It comes across as corny, and I find the innate need to apply my skull forcefully to the nearest brick wall multiple times. I can take insane amounts of cuteness however and just shrug it off.

The whole point of Super Sentai is to laugh at it; none of us are really taking this seriously. I don't really like it myself, but I just laugh at it anyway. The whole point is to look at it, laugh, and don't think about it too much. Seriously, ATC, this is a loose, relaxed thread. We only get stressed over hax.

The whole reason, i think, that Sentai is being whole-heartedly embraced atm is that it's just another trend in OC (last trend was Zengar, then it was 200th Hour), and all of us just want some crack to laugh at. Even Lancenger, which started this whole crack, was just a one-off joke aimed at Glen.

EDI: Antagonistic Timeline

FIRST DAY, JUST BEFORE NOON
1: Edi Introduced to characters and explained.
2: Crash convinced to Wing with EDI in mock survival Battle with Nanoha and Fate.
3: Battle Occures, Edi proves to be quite impessive, and attempts to stack the odds in his favor, but ultimately fails against Fate. Crash ends up drawing even With Nanoha, but tagged out by Fate after Crash Effect moment.
4: Edi 'studies' and calculates combat data he recieved from the fight in background of other scenes.
NIGHT
5: Edi hacks internal database for ways to improve performance and comes across mission data for his project. Discovers he is an expendable drone device.
DAY LATER
6: Crash has conversation with EDI. Edi takes this information in.
7: Crash Effect 'breaks' EDI in a sense. EDI finally concludes from parts of his conversation with Crash that he would not like to be considered Expendable.
LATE NIGHT
8: EDI hacks the base network, finds information on Riot Force Six's HQ.
9: EDI takes control of the transporter system in his hanger and finds the Butterfly missiles in storage, loads them.
THREE AM
10: EDI blasts out of his hanger, alerting the entire base Staff. Takes off and is engaged by Yellow 12 and 13 on Patrol. (Both flying MagiTomcats)
11: EDI shoots down Yellow 12 and 13 after short engagement, (Luckly they eject) flies off towards RF 6 HQ.
12: Crash catches up with EDI, attempts to talk him down. EDI explains his logic that if he can engage and defeat some of the TSABs best aces, he can prove that he is not an expendable drone.
13: EDI Goes Hypersonic and outruns CRASH. Shuts down his IFF Transponder. Crash calls back to McGreggor and asks for direct connect to LongArch.
14: Alto picks up at Long Arch, is informed of impending attack. Alert goes up. Nanoha and Fate are actually out on a duty mission for the night.
15: Edi knocks out forward watch station fifty miles out, slows down from hypersonic and comes in low and fast through the Abandoned City. Tracked only by thermal signature Crash sent in to base by MIDSAT B.
16: Crash almost catches up with EDI. Edi forced to engage Shamal and Zafira's barrier defense, uses Butterfly missile to penetrate barrier. First strike hits communications tower with impunity and shocks all defenders.
17: Crash only just catching up, somehow spots Vivio in Nanoha and fate's quaters as EDI fires second butterfly missile directly at the window. Crash panics and Double Mach Strafes for insane last second grab and run. Crash screams at Edi that he's engaging Non Combatants at the same time.
18: EDI discovers via Crash, via Vivio, that Nanoha and Fate aren't there. Hacks LongArch mainframe and discovers their duty position. EDI disengages RF 6 HQ and turns to engage in BVR combat against them, flying off into the distance.
19: Nanoha and Fate have been alerted to the situation up until the com tower's destroyed and are returning.
20: Air Combat Occures mid-way. Edi engages in BVR assault before merging and attacking directly. Intensive study of their actions from the previous fight allows the quantum computer to outpace them from one action to the next, but not overpower them.
21: Fox arrives on scene and intterrupts with another F-14 M, but doesn't last long against the Superior aircraft despite excelent flying skills. Ejects.
22: Edi catches Fox in the auxiliary cockpit unit and claims a hostage and instructs Nanoha and Fate to capitulate the fight, engages in active attack again, only this time Nanoha and Fate cannot return fire.
23: Fox sets to work jacking with the cockpit controls inside the MADCAP, manages to get to a point where she dissables his stronger weapons and jetesons the remaining butterfly missiles.
24: EDI and Nanoha Circle, Nanoha starts reasoning with Edi.
25: Nanoha finally convinces EDI that he has proven himself, and to stand down. EDI Surrenders aircraft control to Fox.
26: Followup scenes discuss entire unfolded scenario...
END OF EDI as Antagonist.

Acceptable firepower and plot line?[/QUOTE]

This pretty much shows why the TSAB is not keen on AIs and stuff - unless that was your intention.

I'm not too keen on the idea of Stealth being redone for the Nanoverse, but it depends a lot on how it's portrayed and actually written. People were wary of Master Chief in Outer Cadia until TK3997's first draft emerged.

Also, conventional weapons, such as gatlings and missiles, are out, PERIOD. There was apparently a final war that devastated Mid-Childa, with the result that the TSAB has for the most part banned conventional weapons. That's why the OFM takes such pains to hide themselves (Joint Training 1 regardless- it's noncannon cracklulz, so don't take it too seriously). Mikhail Dornitz heading off to TDY with RF6 with his guns was suggested by Kha though, as a way to bring drama and shitstorms, which I complied with.

Erusia and World 82 only get passes on the no conventional weapons because they're 1) Out in the back of beyond; 2) there are nasty things in space - for World 82, it's the Goa'uld - hence their Stargate SG-1 style ships; 3) they're so far away, the TSAB brass doesn't really bother with what the backwater yokels are doing (and it's easier for the backwater yokels to hide what they're up to. Erusia is however, experimenting with more magitech conventional fusions, under watchful eyes of the TSAB, who remain wary of the planet after the Subjugation War). World 82, which joined the TSAB peacefully, has less supervision and thus more bigass guns and missiles.

@Lowe: Spartan Armor is crap (if 300, that is - utter manliness cannot hide that they didn't have enough armor). And if you give a normal human MJOLNIR Mk IV, they'll kill themselves. (Don't even think about V and VI). Or the dreaded MJOLNIR Alt Eisen modification (proposed by Shari and Lurch in MC0075). Also Sentai is good. Sentai is crack. Sentai girls are fun. But Sentai will NEVER surpass REAL MEN! Rearl men of guts, courage, hot blood! Against this man, the wave of sentai crashes and batters itself uselessly!

I have a few ideas... but it's a little corny, so it's harder to work it out.

The idea revolves around them meeting in an edged-desert world or at least something far-off the track a little, in both TSAB-assist and NGO-work. I've got some sort of 'watcher's narrative' on how it works in Astra's side a little already, but others are harder.

We'll see.

Good to know. BTW, are you still going to go through with RevivalS? I have it in indefinite hiatus. And frankly, the new profile of Aurion won't fit to the HAXXiness of that story. Though I could very well keep the frankly borderline-overall-SS-or-higher Aurion just in that story. (see why I'm going to do a lot of nerfing?)

He shouldn't know that Tiara = Reinforce (( not yet, at least )), but knowing her name is okay.

- Alignment: Chaotic Neutral, whether good or evil depends on whom she’s talking to.

Some things change, some things remain the same. Syn is still every bit a sleepy-head as she used to be, she still has trouble waking up in the mornings and generally takes a little while before she is fully awake.

However, as her closest friend grew and changed over the years, so did Syn. As the taunts grew with the age of those who threw them, so did Syn’s retaliations. Her tongue became sharper, her attitude blunter. Her ‘give others what they give onto you attitude meant that insulting her usually results in getting twice what you threw would end up in a rebound.

Being the ‘toughest victim in the class’ Syn became somewhat of a beacon for those who were constantly bullied. However, it also made her a perfect target for said bullies, and during the years Syn learned the hard way that sometimes you need the punch to back up your mouth. Considering that weapons were forbidden in and around school grounds, this meant meeting said bullied fist-to-fist. The utilization of what little of her affinity she had mastered gave her a desperately needed edge in combat against the tougher bullies. On the flipside, it taught her valuable lessons in the art of combat, even though they were little more impressive then regular school brawls.

As Vivio spiralled more and more down the path of depression, mistrust and self-doupt, Syn worked her way in to the girl, becoming the sole exception to the attitude she radiated towards others. Of course, this did nothing but strengthen the already powerful rumours of the ‘lesbian freak couple’ that surrounded the two, but Syn did not care. Her first priority was getting Vivio back on her feet.

Device: Kyouka is an armed device Syn begged Vivio, who in turn asked Aurion, to create. When activated, Kyouka appears as two gems on the back of black gloves, one for each hand. Kyouka’s main purpose is enhancing Syn’s offensive and defensive capabilities. Kyouka is an intelligent device, addresses Syn as ‘danchou’ when talking, Kyouka generally exhibits a ‘less talk, more action’ personality. Kyouka is also the prime communication link between Syn and Gyou, Syn’s secondary device. Gyou, also created by Aurion, disguised as the eye patch she always wears. In reality Gyou is a data gather and analysis device. Its primary functions include scanning and analyzing opponents, keeping track of target data, and gaining access to more high-secured locations through hacking.

Syn’s combat style is full frontal up close melee. When in combat nothing beats a good pair of limbs. Syn’s combat methods are somewhat special as opposed to what most people practice, though. She has trained her Field-type spells extensively, to the point where they have become her main type of defense, as opposed to Barriers and Shields. There are several reasons for her doing so, the first being that with Field spells, Syn is still able to move as usual while maintaining full body protection. Another reason is that she is able to channel more energy to specific parts of her body to either increase the defense in that area or to release all the energy for extra attack power. All in all Syn is like a bulldozer in melee, of course this specialization resulted in her ranged abilities suffering, but with the resulting power that was a willing price.

Barrier Jacket: Syn’s Barrier Jacket appears as a long black coat with blue linings. The sides of the coat near the hips have armored plating. The coat is always worn open, underneath she is wearing a black shirt and black pants, accenting her already very tomboyish appearance and personality.

Spells:
Attack:
Force Burst: A favorite of Syn, this spell combines a melee punch with a powerful magic shockwave, blasting the enemy away. The punch does not need to hit for the shockwave to work.

Deadly Strave: A magically powered punch, signified by a glowing red aura around Syn’s hand.

Big Bang Impact: Syn’s most powerful spell, it utilizes a combination of magical empowering the punch and gathering as much energy as possible of a Field spell into the fist, before forcefully releasing the Field energy alongside the magical burst. The result is a near explosive melee attack that rivals Divine Buster in strength, and is growing every day.

Quad Burst: Standard multi-target shot. Its range is limited, and Syn can fire and control only up to three shots simultaneously.

Wing Blazer: Standard siege type ‘buster’ attack. Syn forms a magic circle from which the attack is fired.

Support:
Area Awareness: Often confused with Area Search, and with good reason. Similar to Area Search, Syn scouts the area for the targets with the use of magic. The difference is that Area Search uses active search spheres, while Area Awareness relies on sensing the opponents mana, making the spell harder to detect. It is also used to alert Syn of enemy presence in case of combat, hence its name.

Deep Search: In conjunction with Gyou, Syn performs a search into a book, network, database or any other form of information storage. The information extracted is saved into Gyou, and filtered by Kyouka, after which the desired information is displayed to Syn.

Feint Mirage: This spell allows Syn to hide her presence from some forms of scanning equipment or abilities. While it does nothing to hide her from visual, or many of the life sign confirmations, it does allow her to remain undetected to scans from a magic source, and has been known to hide her presence from those who could ‘sense’ it as well.

Drive Move: A speed enhancing move delivering a burst of speed, perfect for closing distances.

The device abilities are not much of an issue. Though Gyou's capabilities would need more than just a request from Vivio to make. I suggest Syn also knowing Aurion personally and an acquaintance with her parents for better connection.

Around the surface of the planet labeled Administered Planet 67, its inhabitants went about their daily business. Construction continued on the new high-rises around the major cities, the adults mingled to and from work, and children sat awake in their classrooms ready for another day of learning. Well, most of them anyway. The situation at the main TSAB research facility on the other hand was another story. Researchers, office personnel, and security were rushing about to prepare for the live demonstration of their Project DenLiner. What would have been a simple systems test was amplified by interest in the latest development by the higher ups in the TSAB. Thus they had been notified a few days prior that several TSAB officers would be arriving to oversee the test and report back their evaluation of the ‘revolutionary’ system. Needless to say that opened up a large can of worms.

The rising of the sun to its apex and the heavily escorted convoy of TSAB vehicles meant that they were out of time to prepare. Guards and the few TSAB members on site were quick to assemble and salute the approaching cars. Technicians scrambled around the testing field for final checks on the equipment for the fourth time. This would be the first time such high ranking officials have come to their lowly building and they weren’t going to screw it up.

Doors opened from the three cars, allowing the TSAB officials inside to meet out into the cool air. The security head was the first to greet them, dressed in his best uniform. To hold up appearances he personally escorted the trio through the building to the observation deck in the rear. He did his best to answer any question they might have along the way about their research or world, as well as struggling to maintain his professional and calm demeanor.

Normally the observation deck was untidy, littered with random readouts, cans, bottles, and miscellaneous data collection equipment. What greeted the guests was something radically different. Several padded chairs lined the protective shielding that overlooked the test field below. All the random clutter was cleaned out, revealing the highly polished floor that no one had been in ages. A lone figure stood waiting for them in the corner next to the shielding. She stood at an average height dressed in a dark blue blouse and black formal skirt. Her hands were tucked casually in the pockets of the lab coat, which her co-workers were unable to convince her not to wear, worn over her clothes. A smile formed on her lips as she welcomed the guests.

“Ah, good afternoon Admiral Janeway, Admiral Harlawown, and General Gaiz. Welcome to our humble facility.”

The trio nodded to the false-blonde.

“Thank you Doctor Akagi,” politely responds Chrono, “I believe you have something you would like to show us?”

“Yes, we do,” she quickly responds and gestures for them to sit, “As you are well aware, several years of research and testing on Project DenLiner have recently yielded fruit. Mages today face countless challenges in combat situations and are limited in what they can do because of their Devices. The limited capacity of modern Device AIs to process and support only one class of magic hinders a mage from expanding and finding their potential. Project DenLiner seeks to bring an end to those limitations. By incorporating multiple AIs into a Device, a mage is able to use multiple classes of magic at their peak potential without putting a lot of strain on themselves or their Devices. Although limited in its current state, we have managed to incorporate four independent AIs into a Device with three of them specializing in anti-AMF combat.”

“Anti-AMF combat?” questions Janeway.

“Yes, with the rise of use of AMFs by these Gadget Drones we sought to also find a solution. Rather than relying on the conventional use of mid- and long-range combat, Project DenLiner makes use of augmenting close-combat weapons with magic. In this way the user’s combat efficiency isn’t hampered by the standard AMF.”

That seemed to grab their attention as the trio nodded. Even the gruff Regius seemed mildly interested now.

“But words are merely words unless they can be proven. So if you would please turn your attention to the testing field in front of you…”

Three sets of eyes turned and found the empty field to be no longer as empty. A young man stood out in the middle of the artificially covered ground in a standard TSAB uniform. A black object was gripped in his right hand.

“Our testing field uses the same solid-holographic projection system of the TSAB training facilities. For today’s demonstration we will be using the default field so you may view the test without any obstructions.”

Red lights around the perimeter of the field flashed in sequence, announcing the start of the demonstration. In the middle of it all, Ryotaro held the pass to his side and took a breath. The belt materializes around his waist and he presses the red button with his free hand.

“Henshin.”

He swipes the black Pass over the Terminal Buckle, calling forth the red Barrier Jacket.

Sword Form.

Above the field, the spectators watch and look over the rather unique Barrier Jacket design. It was fairly distinct and unlike the Barrier Jackets they were used to seeing.

“Ore…Sanjou!”

All three turned to look at the nervously laughing doctor after seeing the mage pose rather dramatically.

‘I am SO gonna kill him…’

The demonstration continued with several groups of oval-shaped drones appearing from the edges of the field and easily being dispatched in close-range combat solely by the DenGasher. As he sliced cleanly through another drone, incoming fire forced him to roll to the side and assess the new threat. Several large spherical drones floated onto the field and fired. Ryotaro knew from previous training sessions that they had a reinforced shield and required a bit more ‘persuasion’ to take down. Rolling past another burst of fire, he presses the yellow button on the Terminal Buckle and swipes the Pass.

Axe Form.

Red armor segments shift and morph to their new yellow configuration with Ryotaro quickly rearranging the DenGasher to a different configuration. Satisfied with the axe in his hands, he charges the nearest drone and slams the magic-reinforced blade into its shielding. The yellow barrier strains for a moment before shattering, allowing the axe to continue on its way and cleave the drone in two.

“While not radically different than Sword Form, Axe Form specializes in barrier penetration and strength augmentation.”

The group continues to observe the now yellow figure cleave its way through the large drones with ease. As he bisects the last drone, several groups of aerial drones materialize above the field and start diving runs at their intended target below.

Rod Form.

Yellow gives way to blue in his new Barrier Jacket configuration. He quickly reconfigures the DenGasher into an almost 2 meter long rod with laded edge and takes out a diving drone. Several more attempt to dive and fire, only to be skewered by the bladed edge at range. Finding the current tactic unsuccessful, three groups of aerial drones maintain their altitude and bombard the field with their blasts.

Gun Form.

The barrier Jacket shifts yet again to purple with two plates on the front folding open. Ryotaro returns fire with the now gun mode DenGasher at the drones above as they take evasive maneuvers to try and avoid the incoming fire.

“We also realized that ranged combat is just as important as close-range combat so we developed the Gun Form to fulfill this need. This form is also able to take out a large group from range.”

Receiving the confirmation command from above, Ryotaro swipes the Pass over the Terminal Buckle.

Full Charge.

The remaining aerial drone swing around for another strafing run high above the testing field. On the ground Ryotaro grips the DenGasher with both hands and takes aim. The two orbs on the open chest panels glow and channel magic to the front of the barrel.

Wild Shot.

He pulls the trigger and sends the almost meter wide sphere of purple, concentrated magic at them. They try to veer away, but the attack impacts an aerial drone on the end and detonates, enveloping them all in the massive explosion.

“That was quite an impressive demonstration, Doctor Akagi.”

“Thank you Admiral Janeway. Now, if you’ll follow me to the debriefing room…”

After the debriefing the officers received a full tour of the facility before departing. For everyone they were finally able to breath a sigh of relief. All in all, everything seemed to go well with no problems. Well...almost everyone.

"I said I'm sorry!" cries out Ryotaro as he skids around another corner with an angry false-blonde doctor hot on his heels with a broom stick.

"What the HELL was with that Sanjou crap?! I TOLD you not to DO THAT!"

"Help me!!"

Ooohh!!! Melikes! The test was straighforward but allowed to show the different forms. "Ore, Sanjou!" was GOLDEN!!!! Though wasn't that the AI's fault?
