Just wanna ask if there are any programs that can scan all my pictures and could tell if i have more than 1 copy of the same pic? i have quite many images here, and i'm pretty sure there are some that have duplicates..

Curious, how much does it communicate with Google's servers? If it communicates with Google's server AT ALL, it has the same problem that Google Desktop has, notably a privacy-related one.

I'm just curious because I'd love to know if there are any decent alternate shells out there, especially for Vista and the forthcoming 7. Ideally, I would love to have something like IBM's Workplace Shell that was the default shell for OS/2, but was also available for Windows briefly. I also liked the launchpad that came with OS/2 Warp when it first came out. If nothing like WPS is available, something like its launchpad by itself would be great.

If worst comes to worse, at least I can beat Vista into operating the way I like it with stock software, but I can't entirely say the same for 7. That's why I'm asking about alternate launchpads and even full shells.

I don't use alternative shell on Windows Vista, but I do use a Finder replacement called Path Finder on Mac OS X which have more powerful features than Finder.

I don't like Finder that much because it lacks a lot of power user features.

Edit: Quicksilver does the same exact functions like Launchy on Mac OS X.

If its to replace standard windows functionality in windows, I would suggest trying RocketDock or if you dont mind using keyboard shortcuts Launchy is really great when you have a lot of programs.

Hm. Two antivirus programs on one system? I never though of that as a good idea. Spyware programs are like system tweaks, so you can have as many of those as you wish.

Powershell (unless I'm mistaken) uses object streems instead of text streams; he might not like it.

Any alternative sourcecode editor out there? (something like Notepad++ but not it)

Features:

• Tabs
• Some option for encoding (UTF-8 with out BOM, for example)
• Basic code highlighting (I only really use 2 colors)
• Very light (just the basic stuff like word-wrap, not some IDE monster)

Oh and needs to work in Windows.
