Ah finally the redhead that they kept teasing me with in the OP has finally shown up. Cracked me up how her version of her childhood memories where so sweet while kaname's was a nightmare.

Plus Geass like powers of seduction are just too great for words.

I like Maaya, she's a perfect foil to Amuro. And, I guess potential romantic competition. She seems to like Kaname quite a bit, where he seems to be afraid of her.

Yes KiNa I miss the yoko siggys...

And I think its probably in kaname's best interest to stay afraid of this one...Until amuro's persistent cheerfulness grinds her down she'll be quite dangerous for him to be around.

seeing how no one mentioned it, the thing Maya did to make the boys obey her was a reference to Code Geass. {mayb they took it from elsewhere, but Code Geass is the only place i noe of]. That said Geass power seems to be often imitated

Poor Momoko, having to deal with all of them all the time. I seriously thought that she was going to deck Maaya at some point but having the captain bare himself in front of her made up for it.

'Ono-chan' winning the race was a WTF moment, but then again, the beachball blowing up moment was also just as big.

Shizuoka never ceases to amaze me. She's the most perverted "pure type" character ever XP. she isn't all that pure at all haha. funny thing is, i've known a person like that before ^^

the only reason why I knew, i fixed her computer once ^^

Shizuoka is really, really a hilarious character - that's some perfect voice work there. The scene in the "gallery" was one of the funniest things I've seen in ages.

Amuro is so treacly-sweet that I really should find her terribly annoying, but she's so clueless and moe that I can't help but loving every minute she's on screen. Again, great voice work there - this show isn't anything brilliant or world-changing, but the voice-acting is top-notch all around and some of the laughs are real side-splitters.

Is it my imagination or is Shizuoka getting a lot more prominence in the anime than she did in the manga? I don't think her visit to that "horny" items shop was in the manga. Maybe they felt the series needed more fanservice, Amuro swimming in the nude wasn't ecchi enough...

As for Amuro & her dad, his magic mushrooms, the freeloading, the easy attitude to nudity, it seems they're thoroughbred hippies, maybe Amuro should be wearing daisies in her hair instead of crosses..

I think this show is getting pretty poor at this point, but it still gives us some great characters, as you say.

Shizuoka is played by Fukui Yukari, 24, who began her seiyuu career at 16 with a role in KareKano, but has done as much as a photo idol and in live-action TV drama and movie work as she has in anime, according to Japanese Wikipedia. The photo is from a page dedicated to her as an idol.

I am actually more impressed by Toyosaka Aki, who plays Amuro in such an open, sunny way. She is just 20, and has had bit parts in Red Garden, Manabi Straight, etc., but is slated for another lead role this autumn, in Shugo Chara.

I love their take on goldfish scooping in ep.10! All the breast fondling is pretty silly though, I can't imagine Maaya going in for that kind of thing somehow. Amuro is as cute as ever, Kaname doesn't seem to realise how lucky he is to have such an attentive and non-violent would-be girlfriend (unlike the anime norm).
