Anyway, it was a very fun first episode, although a bit embarassing at times, considering the whacky lines pulled left and right. I really liked how Yuuta was a reactive tsukkomi, without the need of breaking a nerve and yell like some slapstick series abuse, while Rikka is really in her own little world.
Art direction is definitely another strong point and yet still distinctly different from Hyouka, and the other characters still feel "alive" as usual.

There is a good dose of cuteness/moe, but I'm quite satisfied it is mainly a comedy show, instead of a "just moe chars doing moe stuff".

The only problem I had with this was the opening: it is not only distracting, but quite straining to watch at some point, although I did get the point of 2 points of view switching all the time (along with Rikka's eyepatch), but that's really annoying. I sure hope it won't be the definite OP, otherwise it will just a sure skip every week.

That's some really annoying/awful editing they have going on in that OP. Not only did they manage to make the visuals worse than the song, they managed to actually make it physically uncomfortable for me to watch it! Great.

Promo OP for life.

Oh wow.. How could I ever forget this.. I should be incarcerated for forgetting a childhood anime.

If I were to joke about the OP. It's a sloppy try for subliminal messaging.

Anyway ED UP

Wow it almost makes Monogatari look like it's got a steady cam thing going on by comparison. Though it's kind of the type of opening one ought to expect from Kyoani by now. For as much effort as they sometimes put into the direction of certain key scenes in their shows they're pretty underwhelming when it comes to opening and closing themes aside from that they usually have dancing in them. It helped spark a meme back when Haruhi first aired and the dance theme craze wasn't as prominent but when you now literally have at least a few shows a season with dancing in them and with every increasing levels of detail and choreography it kind of becomes hard to stand out the way that one did. Especially when it looks like your opening was edited in windows movie maker.

As for the rest of the opening, man does it feel like they went over a checklist of everything you'd expect to see included in a textbook Kyoani anime. You've got the sparsely cloudy skies (check), the light bloom effects (mega check), the 360 zoom around of the character (check), girl eating and looking very puzzled by the fact she's doing so and like she wants to discuss the intricacies about what she's about to consume at length (check), girl in cheerleader outfit (fan service check), CATS!! (check-zunyan), girl with silly hat dancing, (check) sunlit windows and hardwood school floors (double check), guy riding a bike really fast uphill (check), girls having fun at the beach (check), purple tinted sunset to establish atmosphere (check), and last but not least girl striking a sassy pose (triple check). Did they miss anything? Maybe the sakura petal bloom effect? Anyway looks like an attempt to recreate the conditions under which K-On became popular at first glance, I'm sure it will be a very successful and meaningful show for people that have loved Kyoani in the past, it looks to have that specter about it immediately that they are to deliver EXACTLY what one would expect content wise.

Sorry; dynamic content not loaded. Reload?
The ending has strong resemblance to K-on!! ending style, with many "music cover" vibes left and right.

Apparently you're supposed to only watch one half of the OP, as though you have an eyepatch on.
If that was the intention it's still really goddamn epileptic.

Who in the world said that? It doesn't help in the slightest and you're supposed to miss half the credits?

You have to close an eye and switch them all the friggin them, it is just as tiring.

I just realized after watching a second time that Rikka has to be a closet nerd, as she knows the Konami code
