I am almost surprised someone hasn't made her into Haruhi Suzumiya for those scenes.
I've been attempting to read the manga to find out some things that are missing in the anime. Specifically the Italian based team's tanks. I think I found it: 1 x Carro Armato P 40 4 x Fiat M13/40 2 x Semovente 75/18 and 3 x Carro Veloce CV-33 (Why?) I could be off by one. Yukari says there are ten Italian tanks, but I only counted nine. I am assuming the missing tank is off panel and is a fourth Fiat M13/40 since they specified the group had three tankettes and a P40. The last tank might be a third Semovente instead. I don't think the tankettes can even hurt the Type 89, and that is saying a lot considering how bad the Type 89 is generally considered. Anyone know for sure what the tenth tank is (gotten farther in the manga than I have)? Also I have no idea which tank they are using as their flag tank. Also given those odds verses Oarai's six tanks (the Char B1 is ready by then as is gun upgrade on the Panzer IV), what is the though on that fight? (Oarai tanks are all undermanned save the Type 89 since they have to move three girls from other tanks to use the Char B1 as the Morales Committee isn't with them yet). A difference is also that the StuG III is the flag tank for some reason.

Hi everybody! A little late to the party, but hey the last two eps didn't air yet so this party is far from over Since I am still late, I've put my thoughts on this series so far up in this post here, should be a pleasant read in my typical perverted humor
But I truly love this series, to the point where I don't have the heart to change my sig . Who cares if there's not much bounce or practically no pantsu, at least we got bath scenes ahem I mean a beach OVA, now that was fun. Can't wait for the last two eps, and hopefully more seasons to come! Especially a timeskip where the girls are all growed up with bomber bodies and bigger tanks to fit into Quote:

Gee, this is one of the few anime out there I wished had more episodes. Maybe they thought the Saunders match looked better animated than the Pizza girls. Well, there will be more OVA's, right? Hopefully the Pizza girls will have one to themselves

I'd say the Pizza match would make them look too invincible.. which doesn't fit with the "underdog" theme that they have going in to every other match and the entirety of the plot. The "Italy is one of the favourites!" and then them getting stomped is more in line with using "Hetalia" as a comedic foil ..

Wow... somehow I'd not been paying much attention to GuP and it's turned out to be a fabulous show.
Not just the best of this season but one of the most significant anime of the last few years! First it's got some of the strongest storytelling I've seen in any anime, with character, setting, and plot, all revealed through action not through exposition. This is notable for any action show, but practically unheard of in a sport show. While there's only been time to develop a few characters we've seen far more plausible and honest development of thoose few than in almost any anime I've seen. From the prez's initial stereotyped portrayal revealing both good intentions and a willingness to trust and modify her ways, to Saori's initial flighty boy-obsession giving way to an investment in her own skills and growing self confidence, we continually see characters develop beyond the typical 2D anime chara-types and most of all that development makes sense. No where is this more evident than in Miho herself who's obvious plot conflict about disliking Sensho-do is resolved in the very first episode. Yes it's the 'friendship-conquers-all" trope, but unlike the typical version where friendship is simply declared an ideal (girls hold hands giggle inanely), here we see what friendship means when Saori and Hanna are willing to give up their desire for the sake of their friend. And that's only when her character story starts for crying out loud! Second we've got a serious action show with well executed fight scenes that make sense. This is rare enough in science fiction where fights seldom follow the rules of their universe (or even basic common sense tactics). No the best you can usually hope for is a kind of action ballet where dramatic things happen with beautiful choreographed explosions all according to an expected short hand. Our heroes are winning, our heroes are on the ropes, our heroes get fired up and kick butt, etc. Yet GuP not only stages battles that make sense - they actually make sense given the bizarre combination of WWII hardware and highschool girls operating them in a kill-the-king format contest. Third, no gratuitous panty shots. Which somehow seems to be the trigger that makes this show broadly acceptable as an ambassador of anime. The show is immensely popular in Japan, which will translate to worldwide exposure. Honestly if you'd asked me to think of the most niche, long tail, bizzare, anime fetish combo - WWII hardware and school girls would have been at the top of my list. Yet this show is going to make that combination only slightly less quirky than steam punk. Huh... I didn't mean to come on here and rave quite so much... (^_^);; Actually I came on to ask if anyone know of a good wiki resource where someone's recorded all off of the info on the various tanks, matches, and crew members? I'm sure that info scattered through the 200 pages of this thread but I'd really rather not dig through it all...

Thank's that's quite useful!
Though I didn't mean to ask someone to do the work for me, I was only wondering if there already was a good comprehensive resource online (like the Strike Witches wikia is actually pretty good, or the Touhou ones are excellent).

Unfortunately TV Tropes (while amusing) is not as good a format for organizing all of the detailed information as a nice wiki is. I want entries on each team, each girl, each episode and each battle.
In particular right now I'd like the complete TOE for each battle - not that my budget can actually handle buying all the miniatures required to fully re-enact them, but it's nice to have a goal!

A TO&E for everything?
That would be difficult since most of the other teams aren't fleshed out all that well. Though I think you can get all the tanks and tank destroyers in 15mm (not sure about the Tiger (P)). Some questions would be: What are the names of the other schools in the tournement? Who beat whom? What do they use? (answer is unlikely at this point). And how was the tournament structred these last 20 years without the Oarai team participating? Did another school drop out after last year? Did they have an odd number of schools? Do some schools not participate every year, or get left out in the drawing process (wild card slots)?

We know there are at least circuits for this sport starting as early as middle school and it seems to be on the international level (if Miho's twin-tailed friend is really from Germany rather than another school ship named "Deutschland").
We know Miho's been around tanks since she was about six. I've not quite figured how much older Maho is than Miho, since she aways seems much older even though they are probably only a year apart. Maho was MVP in middle school championships and beat the "Deutschland" team. (with some foreshadowing to Miho's time at the finals against Pravda it would seem). We know Miho's been at least unofficially a tank commander since she was ten. We know her family has at several privately owned tanks (or at least it seems that way), including an early Panzer IV and a StuG III. We know that because of her family name, Maho can't lose. To lose would be an unthinkable disgrace. Even in practise. Though I wonder if she would fire on her sisters tank if it was the one in the river? Miho doesn't seem to really care about winning at first. She just want to have fun with her friends (like she finally gets to do at Oarai). The problem we have right now with Maho, is that we can't gauge her verry well. We know she's serious, and she will do whatever it takes to win. But she seems like a very different person when things are not about tanks and her mather is not around. Curious that. She is willing to lend aid to people in need...outside of battle. She seems like she's a kind sister...but we can't tell for sure if that remains true. We don't know where Maho was during the Pradva fight. Was she in another larger tank, or was she is what I guess was a Panzer III that was trying to cover Miho's tank?

The good news is I'm already only a trivial-to-acquire Type 89 away from having Oarai's original team... though I guess I should double up so I can do the original paint scheme. Getting a Tiger (P) and a Chu-Ro in 15mm is harder...
I have Saunder's and St Gloria's schools already, at least enough to field what Oariai fought against, but I'm more than a few T34/85's short of the Pravda battle... holy cow that's a lot of very tough tanks! Yeah, I've got no Italians... and for Black Forest I guess we have no confirmation of what numbers exactly they're fielding yet? I have enough Tigers Panthers and King Tigers I think, but would need to invest in all of the tank destroyers.
