Funny slice of life comedy

I'm looking for SOL's that are genuinely hilarious.

Ones I've liked:
Ichigo Mashimaro (Most hilarious series ever)
Honey and Clover
Kannagi

Iffy:
Nyan Koi
Baka Test (Although not really SOL)
Seitokai no Ichizon

Not very funny:
Lucky Star
Working
K-ON!
Genshiken
Minami-Ke
Manabi Straight

I know it's a lot to ask, but a show with impeccable timing for its jokes (Like Ichigo Mashimaro) would be ideal. Thanks.

Nodame Cantabile. Its sense of humor is heavenly. (I guess it can be considered SOL, right?)

Great Teacher Onizuka (lots of comedy, some moderate drama involving students problems, but if you can take Honey and Clover, then this should be fine)

I was going to suggest that... but since he didn't like Working!! it made me hesitant. Its worth a try though - one episode will tell whether you like it or not. The comedic timing is very good in Seitokai Yakuindomo so its more a matter of whether the content is amusing to him or not.

He *might* like Sketchbook ~Full Colors~ (though that has a very ARIA-like feel, it does have many hilarious moments).

Kyounogononi (either adaptation: the tv series or the OVA-four set) might be to his liking if he liked Ichigo Masimaro)

I've seen Nodame Cantabile. The first season was good, but the other two were lacking.

And I dropped Seitokai Yakuindomo. The humor was really, really bad. (The jokes just weren't funny)

Azumanga Daioh. The feeling is somewhat similar to that of Ichigo Mashimaro.

What the hell? WORKING!! is one of the best SOL's out there! It's really funny too!

Other than that, I second Azumanga Daioh.

There are a lot of similarities between the two. But me personally, I almost had to force myself to finish Azumanga Daioh where as Ichigo Marshimarow quickly made it into my favorites list. I would say that Azumanga Daioh is almost more like K-on, even though K-on has a bit more plot (if you tilt your head 90 degrees).

The most funny anime I've seen easily has to be Green Green. It's definitely worth watching, it's not long either. I think it was around 13 episodes.

Kodomo no Omocha (Child's Toy) maybe? It does get more serious halfway through though. But overall the main character and most of the side characters are pretty unusual.

My Neighbors The Yamadas (Studio Ghibli). I think the series "Atashinchi" may also be related but don't know much about that.

Chi's Sweet Home and Chi's New Address. More cute than funny, but a humour aspect usually comes via the 'kitten antics'. If you liked the cats in Nyan Koi you may like it, plus each episode is very short.

Kaichou wa Maid-sama! has some nice moments.

Definitely GTO, though manga is better from what I saw.

If you will like Green Green, then try Love Hina. Though I liked Love Hina much more, manga also is better for this series.

Maybe Toradora?

And definitely check Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu even though it isn't 100% slice-of-life comedy because main guy is from military but in this season you can kinda ignore that fact.

Haven't seen B Gata H Kei mentioned. Your mileage may vary, esp. if you don't like ecchi jokes which it seems maybe you don't. I can't say too much for verbal, conversational humor, but other interactions between the characters are great.
Also, not exactly SOL but have you tried Love Hina?

Omgz, how can Seitokai no Ichizon be "Iffy"?! That cracked me up for life...best comedy anime on my list.

Maybe watch GTO, it has its laughs here and there.

I've seen some of the suggestions, Toradora, B Gata H Kei, and Kaichou. Most are hit or miss for me, though Toradora was good as a romance.

I picked up Azumanga Daioh after looking at suggestions, but after 9 episodes, it's really not....funny. I don't know, I guess I'm not too big of a fan of 4-Koma adaptations.

I'm very picky...

Higepiyo (I guess this is slice-of-life; it's definitely funny.)
Hidamari Sketch (Cute and amusing, though not really LOL funny.)
Welcome to the NHK! (Sometimes funny, sometimes deadly serious.)

Funny, but not necessarily "slice of life" (unless you live a very weird life):
Abenobashi Magical Shopping Arcade
Jungle wa Itsumo Hale nochi Guu
Kure-nai (some slice of life, some comedy, some drama)
Oh! Edo Rocket (really off-the-wall, but often very funny)

Usually School Rumble gets mentioned in threads like this.
