As the old saying goes, trying to squeeze scientific realism into a fantasy-style story just doesn't work, so MW and Earth having the same time is pretty much a given.

The difference between a Martian and Earth solar day is only one hour different, so for a society which lives on a largely idealized planet with a mild environment and enjoys a certain level of overall sophistication with the technology of its choice, seasons aren't too relevant.

They could very easily keep a Earth-like calendar and disregard the seasonal drift.

What I'm curious about is when these events are taking place, in the 'past' relative to Negi or in parallel?

Yep, about 19 days until we get any spoilers for 288. Probably about 3-4 days until we get the rest of the spoilers for 287.

What's there to know?

Her mom died/disappeared on some "mission" and her dad seems too be a behind the scenes info/tech magi... nothing much really... I guess Akamatsu could "epic" it out with some connection to what's happening to Negi and the gang now... but I don't think we are gonna get too many details.

Since this hasn't been mentioned yet: the results of the 8th Negima Popularity poll have begun to show up online. So far, the only information out so far is the top five, which are as follows:

1. Yue
2. Setsuna
3. Nodoka
4. (tie)Asuna/Ako

lol negi isn't even up there, Ako and Yue are honestly surprising, didn't expect Yue to get 1. Top 10 sure but 1 is surprising, admittedly she has had a lot of screen time lately.

Negi not being in the top ten doesn't surprise me, his story is being put on hold quite a lot recently, been drawn out and made to the point it's almost boring. He's also becoming a kind of "untouchable" in means that he is, in his fight to become stronger, losing all of his endearing traits and becoming nothing but a straight edged military leader who has a harem and a tendency for more unorthodox, merciful ways.

After being fleshed out so well, Negi's becoming a paper cut-out as the other's get inked in. Poor guy.

As for Yue, She's got an interesting and realistic story to tell, and her connection with reality hasn't been lost in the face of her growing power.

I'm not sure that Negi has ever ranked highly in the polls really. The students have always attracted the most attention.
