Lyrical/cantabile music recommendation
Hello!!
I'd appreciate if you could give me some recommendations of lyrical/cantabile J-pop songs, whether they're from anime or not. What I mean in general is... songs that have pretty melodies, not that loud of a volume, and not that heavy of a beat (i.e. little or no percussion at all). Examples of this type are...
I suppose you know what I mean by now? ^.^ So please drop some recommendations into my hat, please? |

It's hard to think a song with no percussion but i get what you mean, you want something that is not loud.
Try Maaya Sakamoto's song like Loop, midori no Hane, Pocket o kara ni shite ...etc. Rie Fu- i wanna go to a place, life is like a boat, Rose Ayumi Hamazaki's - Dearest ( Inuyasha's ending song) BoA- every heart Fiction Junction Yuuka- Honoo no Tobira, Nostalgia, Akatsuki no kuruma Zard- Natsu o Matsu Sail no yo ni |

Hmmm
Nostalgia-Changin My Life. Yes, it is from Full Moon but was never played in the anime series. I bet you've never heard it unless you're a hadcore CML fan. Michiyuki-Hikita Kaori from Loveless. This is the definition of the song you want. Very slow but emotional. You might even shed a tear-it has a very sorrowful feel-the lyrics are sad too. Add a point if you love piano. Very pretty song. Morning Grace-Okazaki Ritsuko. From Princess Tutu, it's an enchanting little tune. Anata Ga Ita Mori-Jukai from Fate/Stay Night. And last but not least! Aka No Seijaku-Ishida Youko from Shakugan No Shana. This song is one of my faves right now Youko's voice is really beautiful, ah this is just a beautiful song in general. She gets stronger on the refrain but the song is still slow and relaxing. I love the lyrics.

Thank you, everyone!! *bow*
I listened to most of your recommendations, and liked quite a few of them! To Zero Shinohara: Hikari no Rasenritsu is a lovely song, but it sounds nothing like the "Yakusoku" I mentioned. I looked up "Yakusoku" as a song name and there are around 10-15 anime songs with that name, so you might have been thinking of another one! Oh, and after seeing your post, I looked up "Rozen Maiden" (I didn't know of this series before) and downloaded both seasons. I like it! To xxanimefan4_ever: The Fruits Basket opening song is very pretty! I prefer the Yui Horie (Tohru) version over the original though because I can hardly hear Okazaki Ritsuko's voice in the latter. I must say the same of all Okazaki's songs: they're wonderful, but I can't hear the melody! How sad, though, she died of septic shock... rest in peace. (The name "Okazaki" and her cause of death remind me of my Biochem/Med studies, heh. Okazaki fragments, anyone? Remember DNA transcription?) To Chiibi: And thank you once again!! This is the nth time you've helped me, I think. Michiyuki is a tad too sad :-< |
