436 TB?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_bitmap

Assuming it's a windows bitmap, that's about 12 million x 12 million pixels! What the hell was Haruhi thinking?! And does Haruhi know what JPEG is to begin with?!

Just kidding.

NO! Yuki said 436 Peta Byte.

This episode reminds me of Mushi King.

So that's what Itsuki said back then! I must have replayed that scene a good 10 times trying to hear what it was. Really, the first line what was got me... since both are so left field

So, a little over 1.2 billion x 1.2 billion pixels.

Another thing that continues to surprise me is the attention to detail in even tiny places. This frame of Itsuki's watch is on screen for 8.4 hundredths of a second(at least, counting by the raw I got). And they drew sunlight glinting off the edge of the watch band.

You're right, she said petabytes. I remember it was terabytes in the novel so I assumed it was the same here and didn't listen carefully.

...Then again, coming this far, I don't think a few more zeros matters anymore. ^^;

The actual file size of the image, according to Kyon, should be less than 100kb ("less than 10kb" for the novel).

(He's right)

Actually, I'm sure that the logo is a gif, not a bitmap. See the scene where Kyon was dragging it to the folder.

Heh, my wallpaper at the moment consists of just that SOS Dan logo, I'm still waiting to be sucked into an alien created dimension so I can get myself rescued by Yuki.

In terms of fascinating, Yuki ranks just behind Haruhi. I began to like her when
Spoiler for volume 1:
After seeing the scene of her looking lonely, I liked her even more. Then when I read volume 4, I simply melted.

So, we're going back to Lone Island Syndrome again next week? I'd better get working on the translation as soon as possible. I was hoping they would show the main arc instead so I could buy myself one more week.

Does anyone have a vectorized, Illustrator version of that logo?

Also, would episode 8 then be considered an "original story" by the author? Or a rewrite of sorts?

Lastly, that "The Scarab Beetle has performed wound treatment on you!"... could someone check to see if that has anything to do with Dragon Quest?

Just another thing...

When the animation camera first examined the books that the computer-club president has in his room, the first book on the far left was that of "Densha-Otoko".

Kyo-Ani likes to be current with their references.

The format of the episodes in Suzumiya Haruhi really reminds me of Madlax...

Actually, it read Dentaku Otoko. Yes, it's a pun on Densha Otoko. But whereas Densha means "train," Dentaku means "calculator." Whoa, that'll be interesting. A love story between a nerdy accountant and a sincere woman nick-named Givenchy perhaps?

What sort of strange behavior are you noticing? I haven't noticed anything too odd. What are you seeing?

I don't see the last post in the index, well sometime I see that and sometime no (and the last posts seem to vanish from the forum)... I tried to refresh the browser (and to use different ones) and to clean, the cache but what I see is total random @_@ (the forum seem to time leep )

But of course, the problem probably don't lay on my/mine Pc(s)

Edit: Here an example, what I see after this post

Ahhh...I see what you mean. Hmmm....I'll keep an eye out for it. I know there were some changes to the forum over the weekend. Not sure if that's where the problem lies or of the forum servers are out of sync. Now that I think about it, it's probably that...it probably depends on which forum server you're logged into.

Hrmmm...well, thanks for the info. I'll ask around for ya. Cheers.

Kyon should just go take a picture of Haruhi's sleeping face "to show future generations Her snoozing loveliness" (or to place at his bedside table)

With that image Haruhi had just invented the most efficient image compression method known to man and aliens! When can we start using Haruhi-fied jpgs?!?!

(wow that made NO sense)
I believe Yuki said 436 Petabyte of data. 1 Petabyte = 1000 Terabye. WoW. Is that logo 11 dimensional or what? XD

Speaking of number, I found the number of episodes in the website is divisible by 14 (which is the number of anime's episode). It's 15498 / 14 = 1107. I wonder if it's actually the total number of "Parallel Universes" created by Haruhi XD. In our universe there are only 14 episodes, but there are still 1106 universes out there that have their own MoSH with different story, maybe?

Edit: Sorry Sushi-Y, the petabyte thingy has been pointed out by other before
