^Thanks for the link (^,^). It looks just like the animation of the original, just cleaned up, which is good, because the animation was superb for the 1st OVA, but quickly when to shit in the 2nd and 3rd ones =0\.

Hope this makes it to the GI arc, otherwise it'd be a waste.

Gon's new voice sounds pretty good and fitting, thankfully.

Animation style looks perfect for the series.

I am also glad the newcomer's voice for Gon sounds good! Very close to original.

Well think of the target age for shows like this, now think how old they would be now. How many of them would still be watching anime after that long? Starting from the start allows them to appeal to a brand new audience who never watched the series in the first place. Could also really give the manga a jump in sales as well.. maybe push it past Naruto to be the second best selling Jump title.

If it wasn't for all the hiatuses I bet HxH would be competing with One Piece right now. It has so much potential. Even now the volume releases sell really well.

Yeah I don't think some people realize how big Hunter X Hunter is, I saw some RK fans bitching about how this is getting a full remake and they're only getting 2 OVA episodes from an alternate perspective. Well the HxH manga is more popular than Kenshin ever was and it's still being serialized. The point of an anime is to push another product and you still have the HxH manga coming out whereas Kenshin is finished.

If this is a hit with a new generation of fans you can expect the older tanks for HxH to start selling pretty decently... and that would make the next volume break a million copies in a month...

The trailer got me excited (and I am not even the biggest HXH fan) but I am disappointed in lack of Killua (well maybe the next trailer).

Still not sure if I have it in me to follow a longer series, but we'll see.

Yeah, I agree. Especially if youngsters go wild for HxH this could be a real big step on making this more popular. Just look at how much OP sells. It's unbelievable. Nothing comes close in WSJ. I really hope this does well. The commercial wasn't bad, so I still got my hopes up. Just don't mess up the HxH feeling the first series had. Even though GI FINAL had shit animation, it still was entertaining. HxH is just awesome.

Was Kenshin even that popular when it was being released? Trust & Betrayal was really something else. Never watched the TV series till the end, cause the first 15 episodes bored me to death, so I ended up watching just the nice animated fights

I want to hear the other characters talk now

^ Kenshin: I was told the anime was cut short in the last season because it wasn't popular(?) Not sure if this is true. I know the manga and anime were quite popular back in the day, both Japan and with western fans. I really enjoyed the prequel OVAs

Thanks for uploading the trailer! Looks promising. Although the bgm sounds a tad 80s.

A news article came up and HxH was mentioned. Can anyone read this?

ANN has updated the OP and ED themes for the 2011 adaptation.

Opening Theme:
#1: "departure" by Masatoshi Ono (eps 1-)
Ending Theme:
#1: "Just Awake" by Fear, and Loathing in Las Vegas (eps 1-)

For those not familiar with the bands, despite their names in English, they are based in Japan.

Masatoshi Ono's website: http://onomasatoshi.com
Galneryus official website: http://galneryusyumacher.com/
Fear, and Loathing in Las Vegas official website: http://www.lasvegas-jp.com/

EDIT: Turns out OP1 will be performed by Masatoshi Ono, who does vocals for his band named Galneryus.

I liked this 2011 opening more than the 1999 opening because it really fit with the series' tone.

I like this new opening, it gives me a very nostalgic feel which I do think works for Hunter X Hunter.

This opening gives me strong 'kids show" vibes. I guess all that talk about the remake being toned down was true..
