That was awesome, start to finish. Really exciting and suspenseful, and I love the way each manga was presented. I especially thought "Hideout Door" looked interesting - the art really was beautiful. It's hard to root against Nakai knowing how hard he's worked just to get a shot at the glory.

Damn, now I really want to read "Hideout Door". If they could do a spinoff from "Genshiken", maybe they could do the same here. Between Nakai's beautiful art and the concept, there was just something really intriguing about that manga.

haha I was thinking about the same thing about having a spinoff like Genshiken did with Kujibiki Unbalance. But didn't think about Hideout Door being the spinoff though but the mangas Mashiro did.

One of the manga inside Bakuman (the best of them all, might I add) did get a spin-off. Sadly, it was only a one-shot, for now at least. And no, it wasn't Hideout Door.

I 100% agree with this. The anime only viewers shall see it first hand in the second season.

I'd read Hideout Door, though if we wanted to see it's full potention, then it would have to be in a different magazine. Aoki obviously changed it from her original idea to fit the JUMP standards, which i don't have a problem with, though with cases like this i'd rather see the original work.

With all the buzz about people wishing Bakuman mangas to get spin-offs, am I the only one who would like a Gitantei TRAP one? It's a detective story, so just the genre is something that already pleases me. But above all, no matter how much Mashiro looks down on his art, I find the concept and visual of their main character, Trap, just insanely cool. It really portrays well the whole "shady" adjective they used to classify the sort of techniques the detective uses to capture the culprits.

Besides, they even went as far as making that animated OP for Chou Hero Densetsu, so who knows. Here's hoping we're able to get at least something like this in the following season(s) for other mangas in the show!

Animated TRAP would be awesome for the reasons you've stated, yeah. It would be cool to see some short OVA's of the manga we see in Bakuman.

When reading the manga I was the same, I really wanted them to make some spin-offs based on the manga within the world of Bakuman. Trap, the work by the other characters and eventually (probably shouldn't say this as it's a spoiler) I think are really good and would love to read them. Even some of Muto's one shots before Trap like that Money and Intelligence.

This was another of my favorite arcs adapted from the manga.

The adrenaline rushed with excitement as the serialized manga titles were revealed one per each passing week.

Kiyoshi Knight is grotesque and yet remarkable for letting the readers to immerse straight into the characters.

Gitantei Trap a quality, concrete story narrative fill with a rich, mysterious protagonist.

Hideout Door a beautiful manga with eye candy visuals and a fluid narrative.

I'm loving how JC Staff keeps teasing us with "unknown" employee. More lines this time; and as others have mentioned, seems like it's more certain to me from the voice that it's Morita. Initially, I thought Yoshida might be meeting him at the coffeeshop from the phone conversation, but seems unlikely given that he just learn about screentone in the train scene later (though then again, why did they bother with that phone scene?). Looks like the season is going to conclude with the end of the serialization meeting. And I'm betting that there will be more appearances of "unknown" employee in 25.

Yeah i just love how the anime keeps teasing viewers with the unknown character, plus it's nice for me because he's my favourite character in the story .

Ending the first season after the serialization meeting is a good idea. Sure there's no closure, though who needs it when there's a second season starting in Fall.

Just finished watching it, another very nice episode. I particularly liked the interaction between Azuki and her mum, it was a sweet moment and Azuki's resolution definitely made it seem like if it's up to her, she definitely won't let her relationship end the same way her mum's did. And we all know how Mashiro is where Azuki is concerned, so... haha.

I gotta say, I'm not a manga reader but I see people seem to love this unknown employee guy. From what I was told, it seems like the anime is actually giving out some extra backstory compared to the manga? I gotta hand it to Kasai, despite a lot of people complaining about the pacing, being an anime only viewer who exchanges information with some manga readers makes me realize just how many of these subtle original bits in the show are actually well placed and add to the overall experience.

That said, it's looking like we're going to end with the serialization meeting, and I can't wait to see if TRAP is actually going to make it. I hope so, because they've worked so hard on this and the main character just looks so charismatic that it'd would be a shame for Trap to be yet another "failed" project!

That would certainly have me laughing , though would make a large selection of anime only watchers rather angry.

Hah, well, what I meant is that it seems like they're trying to link his whole "finding a magazine and deciding to start being a mangaka" to the other main characters. It isn't something big or very important, but it sort of works, I suppose?
