That scene still bugs me, but then I realize another reason why. What authority does TU goons have to invade a territory and kill its citizens without provocation? If it was a battle, or if this was their land, then I can understand. However, there just would not seem to be any justification for them to kill Toori, and it would deminish any lawful claims they might have later on.

It was definitely the case, Tadakatsu even said in this episode that he had his wife's soul put in that gem that he took from Kazuno's tongue.
Also his wife appeared in that pseudo final moment segment offering him the drink.

From episode 5 we learned the Deadly Sin weapons were all made from Horizon's emotions and that apparently they are all weapons of mass destruction / crazy powers. Also having them can stop the apocalypse or something according to Motonobu.

NOES~! KAZUNOOOOOOOOOOO~!!! I knew this was coming cause I was in the LN thread before hand asking questions and sticking my nose where I shouldn't have but I needed to know when concerning her. I was hoping for it to never come but it did and I'm one sad little puppy now, total bummer. Still she was total boss in her fight and handling that bullet shell! On the bright side I still have Mushashi, altho I doubt we'll see much from her Still Tachibana GIn is <3, really liking her, those are some really big guns I wonder why we didn't see more of the class go after Toori but at least we got some following after him. I have to admit I total loved the melodrama here, it was backed by some great music so makes it all the better. So this is now turned into "man with a mission!(rescue the girl)" I can't wait!

Okay... so the crazy president guy started a war just for the "lol" by blowing up the reactor. And now TU is in deep shit and their totalitarian rule will fall apart. Oh, and they needed Horizon as scapegoat for this mess. At the same time, Horizon was the main source of creating "Deadly sins weapons".
From the looks of it, the rest of the series will be heading to: 1) Toori's group trying to save Horizon 2) Revolution; each fraction and country trying to take back their lands... as a result, war will erupt Please enlighten me if I have missed anything or some of the things that I mentioned is wrong.
