A number of the importers are able to use all 16 slots for artes but then again, they're tales veterans for a reason.

On another note, can anyone explain to me how to use Alvin: he's too slow for my taste despite his tanking ability.

I didn't bother with more than 8 slots for Xillia 1. You couldn't combo that much anyway in Xillia 1, and I was just being braindead by Shouha Majinken-ing everything after I got it

Having 16 slots are useful later in Xillia 2 for combo-ing, and where combo actually matters a lot

20000 exp from Gaius... On moderate difficult and spicy chicken roll that gives me 100% bonus Exp

you could've just purposely lost then restart the battle. Retrying brings out the menu so you can eat a Spicy Chicken Roll or some other cooking you wanted for that battle

I've did that for quite a few times where I didn't expect a boss battle and forgot to save

Does anybody know how to reliably use Alvin's charge ability? Sometimes it doesn't work and I have to use the ability again before it could charge...

EDIT:

Nvm, I figured it out lol- don't take your finger off the 'X' button even during the attack animation.

Alvin is voiced by both Sugita and Troy Baker- There's no way you could go wrong with that

Alvin's not bad really, just that Sugita is more awesome(subjective mode full burst :P). The one I don't like is only Milla's VA(haven't heard Tippo and Elise so can't comment on them).
