IIRC most fight were extended in the Buu saga (rather than the typical filler stuff like let's have Ginew take over Bulma's body stuff or let's focus on Chi Chi) Still at the current pace the 69 episodes count does seem rather hard to believe, not that I'm doubting the source it's from Toei itself.

I thought 50 episodes would be enough to cover Buu saga. But 69 episodes does seem too much for it. Original TV series had like less than 100 episode for Buu saga as a whole.

Yeah, if we exclude the Celestial Tournament (since it was completely cut), it was only 98 episodes. Even including that, it was only 103 episodes. They're barely cutting anything from it.

At this point they may as well "Kai" the Movies and GT.

I'm sure GT would be more accepted if most of the "Filler" stuff was cut as the show didn't really get going until the Baby Saga.

Cuts? That's to be expected. I wonder how much they'll cut from the Tournament which ended with 18 giving up the win so she got a lot of money?

The US started with the Baby Saga, and it's even more hated here than in Japan.

Are you sure? I remember watching in English when Goku went into space and eventually landed on that machine planet after certain... Adventures that are best forgotten.

This lot-drawing bit was incredibly long in the original, so kudos for the big cut!

Next the battles begin! I always wondered why Supreme Kai (who is apparently manipulating the draws so Gohan can fight Kibito) allows for the Spopovich fight with Videl to play out as it does. Why not let Gohan fight right off the bat?

That was a good call. I still have the VHS we got here in Portugal for the first 3 episodes of the show. They released them straight to video after much build-up and started broadcasting at about the same time. I remember being extremely hyped to get Dragon Ball back and then being extremely disappointed by Goku immediately turning into a kid again.

I didn't expect this week episode to begin the match between Videl and Spopovitch. The pacing is good so far.
Now I want to see if they'll keep things like Videl getting her teeth broken.

So last episode we had Vegeta getting a hardon at the prospect of fighting Goku and on this episode we have Piccolo practically crapping his pants... yep just as funny as I remember it

But I have to say that Videl's fight with Spopovich is way more brutal than I remember it half-way through it I was already wishing for Gohan to go SS2 and jus annihilate the guy.

So let me get this right, Krilling is the strongest human on earth by earthling standards? Cool, after him it's androids and aliens, after that we begin touching Saiyan territory and after that are the gods, is this right or am I missing something?

Well, this is Kai. In the DBZ it took 17 episodes to come at this point. Kai is actually more than 2 times faster than that.
