Has Funimation stopped producing FMA DVDs? I can't find them for sale anywhere anymore.

FUNimation are going to re-release the series. The first 20 episodes are due for release on the 18th Septment 2007. The rest will follow shortly I'm sure. Link to AoD.

On-line shops still seem to have a number of the DVDs still available, for example DVDPacific

Fullmetal Alchemist: Season 1 18th Sept, $28.21

Fullmetal Alchemist Volumes 8 to 13, $17.08 each

As announced in this forum, the Fullmetal Alchemist forum has been retired. This is just a natural part of a forum's lifespan. It has been a while since the new episodes of the show were aired. Over the time since then, the show has seen a great reduction of posting and attention. As a result, it is no longer meaningful to have a gadzillion threads to discuss the show.

This thread is one of the few remaining where discussion can still be posted. By concentrating discussion into a few threads it may be possible to actually have a semblance of interaction once more. Please continue to show Fullmetal Alchemist your enjoyment interest in these threads.

Since it seems to me that the Fullmetal Alchemist section is dead right now I chose to ask here. In episode 15, why does Scars arm absorb the red stone. If the stone is incomplete and his arm is to absorb souls, then why? Red Stones have no souls. Also, happy first thread/first post to me!

Here's the rundown, as basic as I can make it:

Two brothers, Edward and Alphonse Elric try to bring back their mother after she dies, using Alchemy. No. Conqueror of Shamballa was the end of it. There is no post-Shamballa storyline.

Arakawa designed Isaac for the Director, because apparently the Director wants to start with an anime exclusive character to introduce a bunch of the cast at once.

If this season heads at a different direction compare to the first season. Why don't they change the name to distinguish? FMA: The XXXX, for example, instead of FMA 2

Normally, people would not want to have a try at S2 before finish S1, no?

You're wrong, the official title of the new season is Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood --- not Fullmetal Alchemist 2.

I haven't seen the first anime adaptation and i plan to watch this. I've only recently started to read the manga as well.

Just adding to that. Even then, Brotherhood is just the international title and in Japan the new series is simply called "Fullmetal Alchemist".

Actually its called

Hagane no Renkinjutsushi Fullmetal Alchemist.

The original was known as Hagane no Renkinjutsushi

Which means Alchemist of Steel.

For some reason Hiromu Arakawa gave her manga two names one in Japanese and one in English.

Actually, if you want to be that pedantic, the first series was technically subtitled as "Fullmetal Alchemist" in Japan as well, so the first series and the remake series technically have the same title.

Instead of saying remake of the first series, it's a closer adaptation of the original manga.
