Anime like Fushigi Yugi?

Any anime that have a very similar setup to Fushigi Yugi? Really enjoyed that series...a LOT. Was my first anime ever.

Hiiro No Kakera > 2 cour and I find the ending good,,, It's reverse harem like Fushigi.

Story of Saiunkukou


Best heroine ever. And the male cast are great as well.

Harukanaru Toki no Naka de for sure. The premise is almost the same. Girl is summoned to another world, becomes some sort of priestess flanked by bishounens who one by one start to fall for her.

Also Neo Angelique Abyss and Pretear.

The girl transported to another world theme is a fairly common one. It appears in the excellent Twelve Kingdoms and also in Escaflowne which I have not watched.

More generally, fish-out-of-water stories are an anime staple. The currently airing Suisei no Gargantia concerns a male teen-aged space pilot who gets transported from a battle with aliens to a very different world.

In Ikoku no Meiro Croisee a 16-yo Japanese girl travels to late nineteenth century Paris to become a shop girl. Those French people eat the strangest foods like cheese.

Preteen Arusu ("Alice") falls off a building into a magical world in Mahou Shoujotai Arusu.

The first two of these have some romantic touches; the last one does not, nor does Twelve Kingdoms.

Though it doesn't include being transported to a different world, Kamisama Hajimemashita does have some similarities with this type of romantic comedy. In this show a teen-aged girl meets a strange man after she becomes homeless. He offers to let her live in the shrine he is leaving whereupon she becomes a shrine goddess who must deal with her new familiar, a male fox spirit. She does venture into the supernatural world from time to time, but the show focuses more on her growing, though difficult relationship with the fox spirit and some annoying demons and the like.

Saiunkoku Monogatari is one of my favorite shows with one of my favorite heroines, but it lacks the transport to another world character of these other shows. If you're interested primarily in the "reverse harem" aspects of Fushigi Yugi, or even if you are not, you should definitely give this one a try. It's now out-of-print so your only option is fansubs. Another show in this genre is the much weaker Hakuoki series about a young woman who becomes involved with the famous shinsengumi. The stream is here, but only the first episode is available to non-subscribers.

Juuni Kokuki is sorta like it, but not shoujo and not horrible.

Seconded! It was excellent as a reverse harem, and I really like how my favorite pairing stayed together in the end.

You liked Fushigi Yugi, and InuYasha, and I presume SAO based on your avatar choice.

So I'm going to guess you like "Stranger(s) in a strange new world" narratives. I also gather that you're open to watching much older anime given that Fushigi Yugi came out in 1995, and also that InuYasha is also pretty old itself.

Keeping that in mind, I recommend Magic Knight Rayearth and El Hazard: The Magnificent World. Much like Fushigi Yuugi, they came out in the mid-90s and involved people being whisked to a strange new world where many wondrous but dangerous adventures take place.\

Also, if you liked InuYasha, there's a decent chance you'll like Ranma ½. They're both Rumiko Takahashi works, and there's many similarities between them.

A lot of my friends have recommended Saiunkoku Monogatari. I've just never gotten to watching it. But after reading this, I really should add it to my must-watch list now.
And I guess I should also finish Hakuoki too
