Liked the Shane and Rick progression in this episode. Other than that I like dhow it was a bit more philisophically focused episode, all around a pretty good episode.
My favorite scenes in the episode had to be Shane watching that zombie shuffle through the grass when they drove to thier destination and back. Kind of held some symbolic weight, at least for me, about not changing course, people just keep going on. Just like me Shane likes going into deep thought during a car ride.

Good thing Shane and Rick had that bro to bro moment. I'm glad that is out of the way. I didn't think Rick was going to leave Shane when it looked like it, and I knew he would get the car and ram those Walkers.

Imo the zombie on the grass represents Shane ,it's a symbolism , he's lost , he doesn't know if he'll keep on or fall down in hells. He realizes that he wanders all alone & that he's losing everything.
When he broke the windows with the keys & saw his reflection , he realized that he was a monster. Now the question is , if he will be able to find his way. And my 2 cents that Lori will bitch around. But at least she got a good slap from Andrea. |

I was actually pretty surprised (in a good way) at how Rick just waved off Shane sacrificing Otis. I do think that he was seriously considering about abandoning Shane until he came across those un-animated zombified deputies on his way back to the car with Randal.

Yes, there was no way he'd leave him there. Letting him stew for a while did him some good too. I was waiting for Rick to say he wants his old partner back, but he basically said that anyway. Still, good to have it over and done with.

This show has me completely taken. They are going in a 180 direction from the comics, yet they have kept the story fresh and I am glad it was decided that the show would be its own, and not a rehash of literature.
Spoiler for What I am talking about-Spoilers:

Agreed, I love what they're doing with Shane's character compared to the comics. Also the whole thigng with Sophia as well. Things are going in a fresh, unpredictable direction from the comics.
