"hang!?" lol, that's such an understatement

Almost 860 manga chapters and NO PROGRESSION AT ALL between Ippo and Kumi...and if there even was any HINT of it, it only occurs in the "downtime" between fights, and yes, he "let's it 'hang'" bigtime! (that sounds soooo wrong!) lol

But then again, we don't watch/read Ippo for THAT, right? We come to see fights as bad-ass as Takamura vs. Hawk!!

There was ONE on the latest chapter where Ippo and Kumi GOT THAT CLOSE and still progressed on in one man's return fight, I'll stop there. But I guess your right they're fighters. It's like Iam a fighter not a lover sorta thing going here.

25!!! BASH SOME HEADS!!!

EDIT
Spoiler for ep.25 YAY!!!:

I guess the sheer waterfall's amount of epic fights in the series is the reason why not too many romantic angles progress much. I'm guessing that the span of the series so far in real-life-years is about 4 or 5 years? At least from looking at Ippo's fight record and activity is concerned. Especially for kids who are as naive and pure as Ippo/Kumi are, I'd think they'd get serious not too far ahead. But I guess that leaves some elbow room, plotwise.

Are you really sure you want to know? You might regret it!

I can just picture what a miserable time the translators/fansubbers will have doing the "Itagaki family dinner scene", if you know what I mean!

And I predicted correctly, that the arc that was "skipped" would work perfectly as a second OVA, similar to the Mashiba vs. Kimura fight.

I'm a bit late but i want to tell that just a few characters in anime/manga can be described so well in just ONE episode:

Mamoru Takamura= Hajime no Ippo - New Challenger / Episode 24

Probably the fansubbers are still in a daze after the epicness that was the Takamura Vs. Hawk match that they forgot that there are still 2 episodes to go till the end of the season!
