Yes, it would be quite dangerous to retrieve a dying animal that's in the street. Where I'm at, it's left in the road for the most part until the street cleaners or wild animals get it.

It's one thing to leave the dog there and another to retrieve it and throw it in the trash once it's dead. Ignoring the dog is a human reaction and it's more acceptable than what Shinichi did. Shinichi retrieved the dog and that's great and all, however he then proceeded to throw the puppy in the trash once it's dead. The way he cares for the living but doesn't give a damn about the dead is unsettling. The contrast is somewhat inhumane. However when we consider that before Shinichi would have cared for the puppy even when it was dead Murano's reaction becomes acceptable. The thing is we're not talking about ourselves (i would have ignored the puppy) or most people but we're talking about Shinichi here who would never have done that before.

Now to elaborate upon my point of it being more human to ignore the puppy than to retrieve it and throw it in the trash once it's dead. If you would see the puppy on the road like Shinichi would you ignore it? I would most likely. That's okay-ish. Now if someone were to hand you a dying puppy would you throw it in the trash once it's dead? I wouldn't. It's human nature to ignore something if it means unwanted trouble, however if you already have a dying puppy it's weird to throw it into the trash once it's dead.

Which, I'm pretty sure, are simply putting the carcasses alongside any other trash they collect.

Btw rather than the "danger" aspect I think most people would never do what Shinichi did simply because they wouldn't want to dirty their hands and clothes with the animal's blood.

Great conclusion.

Marathoned this last night/this morning and glad I did. Wow. Started out a bit slow for me but seriously great stuff since about epi 4.

10 was just great, Izumi taking out Hideo was stellar. I still cant believe Yuko after seeing him change his face and what her brother told her decided to ask him about what he was. I really was expecting her to die.

I want to see the faces of the balding people over Japan when they heard they would lose a strand of hair whenever people greeted them...

Not sure if I should give props to Yuko for actually being able to chuck the acid at him in such a situation or blame her for the 17 people who got killed because of her. A successful attack, but she got off incredibly lightly. Her stupid gamble lead to a massacre.

Not a bad method to identify the parasites. Certainly easier than using psychics and mothers intuition.

So I guess that was the purpose of that anime original character people mentioned a while back that looks like Murano.

Just to get killed in this attack to make the attack a bit more 'tragic' since she seemed to be interested in shinichi but he never noticed her. And in the end, he just passed by her body without a second thought after finding out it wasn't Murano. Kind of a sad end if it was.

Murano took the excuse of "adrenaline rush" pretty well. But I guess she was in a state of shock the whole time, she wasn't in the right state of mind the whole time, so she just took whatever excuse Shinichi gave her to be able to mentally handle it all and move on.

lol @ the hair pulling fad now.
The national situation went up a level or two by the end of this.

I think it was a bad call for the guy to go right away to check everyone in the room's hair. What if there was one there? They all be killed right there. Don't think a room of politicians and desk police be able to fare well against one.
Looking forward to when Shinichi's identity gets found out by the feds, and he has to convince them he's on their side.
But I also hope its not for a while. I like his solo stuff better, and rather not get into "Death Note/Light" territory so quick.

Caught up on this a couple of days ago and after watching this episode all I can say is good job using that stone. Seriously it is such an underutilized weapon these days.

And that's just 17 students/teachers, not counting the policemen who died confronting him.

Oh, looks like Shinichi got himself a long ranged attack now.

.
No, that original girl is in the same class with Shinichi, so she did leave the school early together with his class. The dead girl is really just a random student in 3-3 (class of Murano)

I still don't know what they would plan to do with her - the original ponytail girl- hope it would be good because I feel she's a waste of precious time now. And this show has a tight schedule: we're still nowhere near the middle point of the manga yet. I am afraid they won't make it like this. Or they have to seriously change the later arc, which might be a good thing, as I felt the later part of the manga drags a bit.

Overall, a compact and good episode. I still think it's better if they really kill Yuuko. But she did not die in the manga too, so maybe they want to stick to the plot.

At the end, I kinda feel bad for Shimada. He certainly won't want to do that. And parasyte or not, his death looks very, very painful. Even though it is supposed to be the lonely road to adulthood of Shinichi/Migi, sometimes I think it would be cool if he really has a friend.

And that cool music track at the beginning. I want the OST even more now

Glad that both Tachikawa and Murano are alive, but it's sad that the rest of the students are dead because of Hideo!

Meanwhile, Shinichi killing Hideo with just a stone blew me away on how fast he threw it. It's like his right arm is an anti-material sniper rifle!

Anyway, great episode for this week!

Suddenly, demand for wigs everywhere in Japan increases exponentially.
Rumor has it that the government is asking the vendors to provide them the customer list.

But wait, remember that the government didn't made the information public, so most of the people are in the dark about the existence of parasites.

By the way, I doubt that pulling a strand of hair won't determine a parasite-infested human from the rest of the population.

Shinichi's personality is tethering lately, but he seems to be better now. I was surprised Murano didn't find out.

Anyway, Yuuko, the dumbest girl in the show... it's so unfair that she caused all this and came away pretty much unscathed. Her idiotic actions led to the deaths of so many people, and she's still around to possibly do more damage. The way things are going, I'm going to bet that she betrays Shinichi at some point and cause all sorts of havoc. *sigh*

Next week seems to be a new arc, and it looks like psychic girl will be involved. Interesting...

Yuuko's not the one who killed all those people so I don't really think she deserves any flak she's receiving. All she did was throw a bottle of paint thinner at the creature that was trying to kill her in self-defence, it just had an unpredictable result of making Hideo go on a murderous rampage from not being able disguise himself again.
