We have 3 girls that got left out so far (Azuma and Miriam aside ... maybe we will find out what these two are doing later ...).
Naomasa Neito Masazumi <--- despite the translation uses 'he', I think the actual references are not gender related, but still something to keep in mind. I think it's kinda a neta play here, because Ii was mentioned by Sakai back in episode 4 as the dude who didn't show up (and confirmed got spirited away by the drinking buddy). Ii's full name is Ii Naomasa, but probably not related to huge-spanner chick. Also, these guys aren't jumping straight into saving Horizon; in fact, they don't seem like they care much except for Suzu. Apathy or restraint I don't know, but at least I like the fact they're actually opening this for discussion. As much as I like overpowered MCs that just solo bosses and save the chicks of their dreams, sometimes I really hate how useless the those dudes' friends are. Feels like the author spends all those time building the friendship and in the end they can only watch from the sideline. For the people who don't go into the light novel thread in fear of spoilers, dear Zeroblade began translating the Q and A from the wiki made for anime-fans only, can be found at the infodump site. Pretty interesting reads really. Preview for episode 7 (stupid bandai channel ...): http://vlog.xuite.net/play/REVZc0VnLTM5ODg2NTIuZmx2 POWER OF MONEY~~ PS: Think both EDs are out... |

To me Jiroshiro is only interested in money. Every time he had opened his mouth so far, it has been money related. Is the first student to talk in the series, and he was already talking about money . And in this episode, her own girlfriend was talking about what they will going to do about Horizon, and he was not interested at all... until she mentioned kindly he could make some profit out of it. The food related talk was only a chance to joke about lolicon guy.
They will forget completly about this topic next episodes It was all to show they need Masazumi on their side in the end to me. Last edited by serpiente; 2011-11-09 at 14:29. |

Some of you might feel that Toori was a jerk reading magazines when everybody was discussing a plan to rescue Horizon. But think about it. Do you REALLY believe that he was reading a magazine at that time? It was obviously just an excuse for Toori to cheer everybody up.
I believe that he was REALLY, REALLY DOWN for the whole time. Imagine, until yesterday you thought you are gonna live "those ordinary days" forever. All of a sudden, some reactor melt down, and a world war is about to start. AND, you discovered that your lover's SOUL is ACTUALLY RESIDING in the look-alike self-operating-doll that you were going to confess to. AND she is designated to become some sort of super powerful Ultimate weapon. Then, she was took away RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOUR EYES. Today, you heard that she is going to commit suicide on board of some enemy ship. Then during class, one of your greatest childhood friend, Suzu, cries out to you in tears, "PLEASE SAVE HER!" I couldn't take it. I would have stormed out of the classroom. I just can't take that much all at once. But boy oh boy, LOOK at Toori. You see, Toori 's playfulness is not playfulness. By doing his foolish acts, he cheered Suzu up. He cheered everybody up. Heck, with tears still flowing on my face, I was laughing so hard. Toori 's playfulness is not playfulness. It is the ULTIMATE DISPLAY OF HIS MENTAL STRENGTH. |

And don't forget, after that little breast-groping silliness, Toori managed to metaphorically took Suzu's hand again and lifted it up even more.
He said: "I wasn't being overly considerate when I took your hand back then. I wanted to hold your hand because, you were such a kind and nice girl. Everybody has the same thoughts, right?" He was effectively saying, in a VERY subtle and gentle way: "I didn't hold your hand because I pity your blindness. I held you hand because I want to be your FRIEND." I JUST CAN'T EVEN START TO IMAGINE HOW MUCH THAT MEANS TO A BLIND PERSON. No kidding. Toori is the kind of true friend, true leader that I am willing to fight for and die for. I noticed the mention of the close links between the Mitotsudaira Clan and the Matsudaira Clan on Episode 6.
Then, upon further research, I discovered that there is a feudal domain called Mito that is connected to the Tokugawa Clan. Well, we know that Ieyasu Tokugawa = Motonobu Matsudaira, and Nate (or Neito) Mitotsudaira is often called as Mito by her classmates, so there's a possibility that Nate's real surname might have been Mito in the past and Mitotsudaira = Mito + (Ma)tsudaira?

you re absolutely right in your portrait of toori´s attitude. I feel the same way too. But when you put it in paper, with all the odds against him, its makes complete sense. kind of reminds me characterization of Lupin III in Miyazaki film. He likes to play the joker, but he has a golden heart inside him. well, I was one talking about tooris magazine, but precisely because it was the unexpected pun of the episode. Im still confused about Mito-tsudaira name and lineage. In the episode, something on the lines of what Marcus said was mentioned by Asama Tomo. |

It's really hard to judge Toori's way of thinking here. You thought you know what he's up to, the next thing you know he threw you a curve ball. Granted it's always the same curve ball, but he always throw it at the most unexpected moments.
This kid is really interesting. Need to observe him more.

Oh, I see. Thanks. So, in the continent, every country is a mix of non-japanese people from around the world, and a japanese town, region or clan. So Neitos case is like Garcia de Ceballos taking over the figure of Muneshige Tachibana, thanks to history recreation laws...
