I'm sure that those of us who love sports anime are very excited that the 3rd season of Hajime no Ippo premieres this Fall.

The airing of the 3rd season has not yet been confirmed so I won't hold my breath for this fall.
On another note, I wonder who is going to play Kamogawa ?
Mr. Utsumi the person who voiced the past two seasons pasted away last month at the age of 75.

According to Moon Phase: 3rd season title is Hajime no Ippo Rising and it premieres in October on NTV(Nippon Television).

Hell yes! Damn that's some good news. I haven't been able to follow the manga for a couple of years now because it just kept dragging on, but I would love another anime. I think this series is just so much cooler in animated form. This is one of my all time favorites, probably in my top #3 or at most top #5 anime series ever.

Ohhh can't wait for this one, aside from possbile Vorg and Sendo comeback.. lookin' forward to Kamogawa's flashbacks and Miyata's fights if ever.

Jun Shishido (Hajime no Ippo: New Challenger, The Princess and the Pilot) will direct the anime at Mad House and MAPPA from scripts by Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (Hajime no Ippo: New Challenger, Tantei Opera Milky Holmes). Koji Sugiura (Hajime no Ippo, Mobile Suit SD Gundam Festival) will be designing the characters, and Masafumi Mima (Hajime no Ippo - Champion Road, Guilty Crown) take the position of sound director.

Madhouse and MAPPA are great combo.
