What happened with the series? is going down in the rankings pretty fast, maybe the studio made a big miskate?

They had a recap episode and is still struggling to maintain quality. This hurts the show because unplanned recaps are never good news.

Doesn't it still sell pretty well though? Is still right after Konosuba S2 in sales from what I see.

Kemono Friends is the real breakout hit of the season, it has eclipsed every other series by far as far as fan reaction goes. Youjo Senki is great on its own merits and is still very enjoyable, but you can't deny that a large part of its initial impact was the audacity and shock factor of using an "evil" little girl as its protagonist. Since Youjo Senki turned out not to be the most hype and discussion generating series of the season, it's somewhat expected that the preorders have fallen to still good but normal levels.

Vallen Chaos Valiant has a point that the recap episode definitely played a part. Another thing to keep in mind as far as that particular ranking snapshot is that it's Thursday/Friday morning and shows' rankings tend to be lowest just before an episode airs, rising again after the new episode gives viewers something to get excited about. The per episode bump is not a huge factor, relatively speaking, but it's still something to keep in mind.

what's the point of a recap so early?
It would be better if we get the episode is from another person's perspective or just before a major arc, a recap on how god screwed a little girl.

Episode 9:

Good amount of info and exposition in regards to the current state of war. I'm impressed by the technology in this show actually now that I think about it. In the meantime, that mission dubbed as Shock and Awe sounds a lot tougher than it looks on paper. It'll be interesting to see how far the war will progress at this rate.

That doctor guy was kinda amusing to watch XD

But man, V-1 rockets. The Empire really is ahead of the other states in terms of technology both military and magically. Too bad it is always Tanya and her troops who have to deal with the risky missions. What an insane plan.

Looks like Tanya is in need of new troops after this battle though given the loses of her companies. Plenty of them are either dead or injured so much that they need months of recovery.

And I doubt this was the last battle as there is no way NotUK will just stand there and watch as the Empire beats both the Engente and the NotFrance and become a hegemony.

Something is fishy about those. It may looks like V-1 with more engines because cool factor, but real V-1 were much slower, (about 600 km/h) and had different fuel, not hydrogen. Those things here flies like a Me163.
