Since posters are expected to be familiar with the game, there is no real need for spoiler tags, but feel free to include them if you so wish.

If you don't know how to use a spoiler tag, please read the BB Code FAQ.

This is going to be so awesome! I can't wait to see Maria, Shannon, Lambdadelta, and Bernkastel in the anime, and hear their voices, and see the OP and ED.

I imagine Miki Itou's voice is too mature for Lambdadelta... she looks more like Takano as a child so I assume she'll get Fuyuka Oura who voiced Miyoko...

Hm...I guess you're right. *just looked around for some images of Lambdadelta to see for myself; didn't find any good ones, but there were a few icons out there that seemed to be the right person*

I wonder if Yukari Tamura will voice Bernkastel? That'd be so cool!

I think the real question is will they include both tea parties...
That might give us an idea of how important they actually are...

I think Yukana for Shannon. I don't know, she's not moe enough, I suppose.

I wonder if they'll cast Miki Ito for Lambdadelta. I'm sort of hoping they won't, but...

It's not how many arcs they have to cover...it's how many episodes they allot for each arc...

Hmm
Since we don't have much to discuss here...

How many episodes you guys think would be enough to decently cover the first 2 arcs?

12?
13?
14?

I guess...
If they do not WASTE much time with that friggin' meta world (I'm not very fond of that...), I guess 13 or even 12 would be enough (6+6 or 6+7).

Come on, give the meta world a chance. Like it or not, it's become the section where the central part of the story takes place. And ryuukishi rarely ever lets us down when we expect him to. (And honestly, you gotta love 復唱要求, ...unless you're trying to translate it)

I actually think ep1 might be cut down to even fewer episodes. While it makes for an interesting read, massive heaps of backstory tend to be a bad way to start off an anime.

I just hope the people adapting it don't take any 'liberties' to 'improve' it or shorten it more than it needs to be. I still can't get over what it was like to read the higurashi games after the anime and feel like it's a completely different series.

I find the meta world alot more interesting then the "game" world... as I don't really care about the rest of the family.

And that makes it obvious that unless they cut pretty much...the whole beginning...4 episodes...wouldn't be enough for one arc of Umineko =/

Another question...how will the anime do with the red text? Any ideas?

I had the same thought.
Maybe something akin to red subitles when they speak on screen of their voice changes slightly? Both of them seem to lose the original effect though(except the subs), but it could work?

My guess is that red words will float around the room as Beatrice is speaking.

The voice change...doesn't fit...
The subtitle...it seems better, but I'm guessing either subbers would be in editing hell trying to put the subs there...or put it on top of it. Which for some reason seems cluttered for me.

My friend and my mom said that they might just put the screen to black and put the red text there as Beatrice speaks. Or maybe the meta world will be black with Battler and Beatrice playing their freaky chess.xDDD
