Well, if it's any consolation to anyone looking at that picture, she becomes one of the most powerful magic users ever. (Hard to tell between her and Usagi who's the most powerful though, since they both end up being Reality Warpers with their power)

See, way I see it is that Nanoha is the Gurren Lagann of magical girls, and Madoka is the Evangelion.
(Caveat that Madoka does not insult the audience's intelligence, make you want hours of your life back, or generally suck. But it does screw with your head and send you to the unfun side of the manic-depressive spectrum.) I'm not a Madoka fan. I don't regret watching it though.
