Here's interesting thing I learned in the Macross 7 Trash manga.

UN Spacy recruits pilots out of sports related to variable fighter manuevers.

Air blading which is similar battroid and gerwalk modes with anti-grav skates.

So it is not that surprising that Ex-gear acrobats are also considered potential pilots.

I don't know if they recruit air boarders though. As seen in Nanase's first appearance in Frontier.

Seems they've taken Millia's idea that games are for pilot training.

Not surprising, the US army is trying to increase recruitment with a free video game. I forget what it's called but i doubt the number of people that enlist based on the game actually covers the cost of making it.

Well, given that the 'EX-Gear acrobats' in Sheryl's concert were flight school attendees, some of whom are probably expected to apply for pilot school in the military to handle VF's, this isn't probably at all a surprise. But given that some of the skills carry over between sports, it only makes sense to get people who 'think 3D' to go into pilot training for UN Spacy.

Especially after Millia learned to fly a VF by playing the VF game in the arcade. Even if she had mecha skills before that, it gives you an idea as to how good some of those games may be at inculcating the basic skills even if they don't have all the controls of the real thing.

You'd be surprised: of all the services, only the National Guard has failed to meet its recruiting goals for the past 2 years. The Guard's achievement? 94% of its recruiting goals. Everyone else has exceeded their recruiting goals - especially the Marines and the Army, who are on the tip of the spear.

Looking at all these threads...drool love to get involed.

MF economics is probably the reversed of what most people are thinking. We are thinking on up scaling everything to meet the demands, however if you think like the Zentradi and scale everything down to meet the demand of the human population. We suddenly can make it economical, by building everything to meet their needs, before we look at the human population. It is probably that A Zentradi who works/live as a giant makes as much a human in the same field in relative terms.

Considering the recruitment process, anything that can meet the demands and requirements in part of the military training is highly valuable as Military skill set is considerable specialized compared to a civilian cindustry

^ the economic thing kinda makes sense however, that makes it still "cheaper" to live as a miclone. Just based on less consumption of goods and resources.

Also when you get into non producing jobs that scale kinda breaks. I don't see a Zentradi singer getting paid any more than a miclone/human one.

Anyone ever think that the Megaroad 1 disappearance was due to a fold distortion. Could it be that the fleet is still trapped in a fold so their time is going extremely slow compared to real time?

How crazy would it be if the fleet defolded, everyone in the fleet has only aged months.

Nah Fold Distortion is time is not congruent upon your destination.

For example when the Macross folded for several seconds they were missing for several days.

Think of warp space having high and low areas.

The warp bubble goes with the current's flow.

I've heard fold engines work best with space whale compounds.

Though nobody uses those except crooks. (Space Whaling is illegal.)

^ well it's not totaly out of the question. The humantradi still don't know all that much about the mastery of fold tech.

for example, the SDF-1 folded for a few seconds but were missing for days

Now in ep 11 of MF Alto and Sheryl's the trip to the planet will take 1 full day in fold but a week in real time.

Well it seems that quite a number of Zentradi that can't adjust was dumped into the 33rd fleet.

Thing is even in Macross 7 Trash manga some Zentradi felt they were getting soft.

That's why a conspiracy created T-Crush mind system to leach off agressive emotions and spiritia from players.

It's not that guys like Quamzin does not appreciate culture he doesn't like peace loving culture and prefers war culture.

I've always thought it was funny that Zents don't have culture, although they certainly have a 'drinking' culture, seeing how Quamzin loves to go into battle drunk.

Well, the alcohol is issued as rations, not as betting stakes or to be stocked up for binging like what Quamzin's crew does.

I wonder what authentic Zentradi grog and diet is like though. Probably synthesized stuff processed and delivered by an automated system, like the rest of Zentradi tech. Maybe that's where uncultured Zentradi get their weird complexions from?

Nice to confirm that KK and Nene are either 2nd or 3rd generation natural born meltrandi At least it's clear they haven't "All" gone soft [KK slapping that VF]. Imagine smacking a solid metal mech and not showing the effect.

Here's an odd thought- considering how fast a zent matures in comparison to how slowly they appear to age, it could be KK's genetic glitch is where the miclone machine translates her actual meltrandi age as correct instead of her physical maturity.

If this is one of the 'defect' that occur in the natural born zent population, it may explain why there is a full sized population of varying ages. The micloning process will keep spitting out a result that's vastly younger than they actually are

Episode 12 makes me wonder about other all Zentradi or Meltradi NUNS divisions out there.

With the current NUNS Valkyrie pilots seemingly being kill fodder shouldn't a fleet like Frontier call for reinforcements?

The Big Guns so to speak.

Take for example Chlore's fleet that likely integrated. It is said that her fleet outnumbered Macross 7 fleet 500 to 1.

I know you're going to say they are needed for Earth and established colonies like Eden but it seems to me that with the head of the current New UN government on a roving colony fleet they should reinforce the fleets more.

Back in the old days giant Zentradi and Valkyrie pilots back each other up. Like when they stole the factory ship.

I wouldn't count on it. Considering how shitty the 33rd Marine Division is and the Pixies' tendency to be MIA when their sempai is in mortal danger, the chances of anyone not flying a VF-25 coming in to save this show from disaster is slim to none.

What if the Fold system "malfunctioned" and the Megaroad 1 is still in a fold. They never defolded. Time on the Megaroad 1 would go very slowly compared to realtime.

Its wishful thinking, but it would be sweet if the Megaroad 1 just happened to defold. I just can't accept the fact that the Megaroad 1 just "disappeared" without a trace and thats that.

When Megaroad 1 disappeared so did it's escort Nupetiet-Vergnitzs-Class Fleet Command Battleship.

Perhaps they'll never find the Megaroad 1 instead they may get clues if they find that Zentradi ship.

Speaking of escort ships. It was never established which fleet that Vajra infested Guantanamo carrier was attached to.

I know this may be more appropriate for the speculation thread but maybe it was one of the SDF-1's escorts.

^ on the suspended fold theory. The fold explanation states the longer they're in fold the energy demands grow at an exponential rate (i think).

At that max point they don't explain if they just drop out of fold or blow up

interesting point about the infested carrier though, I some how doubt the Vajra would drag the ship back to their territory just to infest it. So the question would be what fleet has passed near there or how long would it take for a derelict one to drift that far.
