There are different 3d. In Love Live Sunrise used 3d for all the dances too but it looked almost like 2d while here it looks 3d and quite mediocre (((. Not that I'm whining, cause I like AKB0048 much more but it still could be better

AKB0048 isn't perfect, but it's pretty creative, which is more than enough imo.

And where else there's a show that has a minor character speaking in your language? LOL

I'm not a member of either company, but I wouldn't be surprised if AKB used more money than Love Life. At least that's the impression I get when I see the staff, the episodes, and the fact it is AKB and I'm pretty sure AKB (not the girls, the executives) can dish out a lot of money.

I think much budget and better productions are best given to OVAs and movies.

I thought this episode was pretty high-budget myself. There were few of the usual cost-saving devices like one-shots and two-shots where just the characters' mouths move. Nearly every scene included a lot of motion and on-screen action. I was actually wondering whether Satelight had blown their budget on this episode in an effort to gain share of mind. I suspect, though, that the parent enterprise has more than enough to spend on this project if it chooses to do so.
I was more mixed on the story itself. It felt more contrived than usual, and the rescue was just too easy. I saw this episode as designed primarily to bring new viewers up-to-speed on the basic story dimensions. Putting Chieri at risk automatically involved all us old hands, of course. Showing a little skin here and there probably helped, too.

That was almost certainly on purpose. While the trial was probably legitimate (assuming you can call that sort of kangaroo court legitimate in the first place), the situation on a whole was likely never actually intended to bring idols to "justice," but rather to put them in a situation where they'd end up having to show off the kiraras' powers. Chieri's father wanted the captured idols to be rescued, so he could get more data on the kirara effect.
DES has always been completely incompetent in fights against the girls. This is the first time there's probably been a reason for that to be the case.

Also, by this episode they're indeed trying to correct those loose ends, apart from introducing some new twists. ---- I believe that, historically, a bigger budget are given more to movie versions, and thus result to better production values. Also, given the current costs of production, I feel that only a few studios would dare to afford to go high-quality in a single season.

Well, technically...
Considering the license Satelight have to pay for all those AKB song and reference, this a huge budget show already. Eventhough i am sure that Satelight (or any sponsor) dont pay for all the license for using Mafia48's name in this anime... One good thing, they can focus all the budget into animation... |

I'm not trying to start anything. Are you read my post? I'm watching this because I liked S1 and like it much more than all the over Idol shows I saw, while Love Live I put on-hold for now. Maybe I'll watch it after, maybe not. I just said that Sunrise made better job with 3d in performance parts.
And it's really stupid to say that Sunrise is bad in terms of creativity. Yes, Love Live is bad in this terms but Sunrise has not less percent good shows than Satellite. And Sunrise studio 8 which is making it is one of the best in terms of animation quality. Just that they picked wrong show this time.

Last time Sunrise did a series based upon idols, we got this:
With Satelight, even at their worst, you get a sense that they're putting real effort into their work -- Muv Luv had tons of problems, but their fight scenes were still superior to, say, Sword Art Online's still-frame theater. And AKB0048 isn't Satelight at their worst. The dance numbers could be better, but all the other CG fits the visual style of the show. |
