Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Character Creation and Discussion

I dunno about writing a fic for Mahou Shonen Classical Graham Season 1 and Mahou Shonen Classical Graham A's. I have the rough idea, since it's technically an alternate-version of Nanoha and Nanoha A's in a different, unique perspective, but I have too many things in my hands. Maybe one day...Maybe....

I kinda like the Device idea, but I'm not so sure on his relationships with the Aces. It's nice that it mildly reflects aspects of external character development, but it can seem awkward if not properly done. It's a personal thing though.

Seeing Kha's part-post kinda inspired me to divided my history of Belka into parts. Hmm...Maybe in 2 days or 3, you'll see me write up Part 1 : The Birth of 2 Kingdoms, not to mention I have rough ideas of creating a Kamen Rider 555-ish character for Nanoha-verse, employing Yuuno's shapeshifting magical properties, and also cellphones as devices for full-body armoured BJs.

My biggest problem with the birth of the 2 Belkan Empire had the battle of Roland and Fierabras, in my imaginations, then as magically adept warriors create a spatial-time-space warp that sent them to the the an era before Belka was born, and both of them were the Belkan Empire's first founders. I dunno if it's a good idea to bring in that.

Well, still, I thank you for reading my character's profile. And yeah, I've modeled him as a less Kyon-like older Kyon. And shooting moe is definitely not one of my ideas.

As for me, the background description of Kha's early childhood is ready. Personally I liked this new one better, as I nerfed much more believability into him this time round instead of doing things tongue in cheek. Darco the spoiler's multamultamulta times shorter this round so please help me check if it still contradicts canon again. Actually, if anyone do spot an error please point it out. Thank you!

Kha was born out of wedlock, to a nun named Kia. Kia was no ordinary nun; she was Kia the Impaler, Sacred-Commander of the 4th section, Saint Alexei Convent. She was a Velka knight that specialized in polearm type weapons, and wielded holy magics derived from the Light of Velka, as such was also known as a Cleric-knight. She was raped when the convoy she was escorting commodities from the Hearthstone Mid-Childa Interdimensional Starport to the rural town of Renault was attacked by bandits and somehow overwhelmed her. Her Convent rallied around her and helped her through the darkest times of her life. As with all the girls who swore their spirit and body to the cause of Saint Alexei, the newborn took on the Saint's name as his family name. His mother named him after herself as well as the 11th letter of the Mid-childa alphabet, which numerically coincided his birthday. And so 1 year later in M4rch, was the birth of a young boy who would be known as Kha Alexei from then forth.

Kia taught the young Alexei the Velka Code:

That the Velka descended from the Goddess Danaan herself,

That the Velka would never rescind on their values,

That the Velka would never surrender or give up hope,

That a death in the battlefield was the greatest glory the Velka could ever achieve in his life.

It was the Code from which the warrior nuns derived their Oath, and Kha learnt them well. To that end he was a quick learner of the quarterstaff just like his mother, even though it was a good double of his height, becoming able to defeat girls wielding any dud weapon twice his age when he was 4, but he never gloated, and was ever the gentleman. No one left a sparring session with Kha feeling bitter.

When Kia was assigned to man the Velka church of a neighbouring town, Kha met Alicia. It was accidental; he was sitting in a tree watching the experiments inside Precia's workplace when Alicia took a skinny-dip in the bend of the river that ran through the compound. He got a fright, fell out of the tree and into the water. Alicia was still wondering what's the matter when Kha scrambled back out and ran yelling apologies all the way into the bushes.

When the girl was done, she found the Velka squeezing his shirt dry. Quickly he resumed his sorries, but Alicia pointed out to him to stop, for she didn't see what was his fault. And she didn't understand a thing about him rattling about his mom talking about "defiling", "lust" and "sins". Kha didn't get it either, but he was taught that it was wrong. And so Alicia declared that it was something for grown ups to worry about and nothing of their concern.

A queer way to start a conversation, but that's how their friendship began. Over the next year, Kha would visit the research lab regularly, and Alicia was happy to have another friend to chat with. She even shared with him her wish to spend the Mid-childa holiday with her mother for "Linith trusts you a lot". Kha was saddened to her of the girl's plight and kept coming back whenever he could to keep her company.

One day, he found a broken down auto-mower in the lawn and with his pocket toolkit and some magic got the robot working again. He even tweaked the machine a bit so that he could control it mentally and when Alicia showed up, he took her for a spin around the factory while cutting grass for fun. All that was observed by a man in the shadows. Later, the "Manager", as he wished to be called, approached Kha when Alicia went in to have dinner and the boy about to return to his church. He gave him the plans of a project he got, and asked if he could see what was the problem with in it. Kha did wonderfully, the Whispers of angels in his head that guided his thoughts on these matters pointing out that the "snips meaningless technobabble". The Manager was amazed that Kha got it right, and had even pointed out a non-critical flaw the researchers missed themselves. And so he handed him the blueprints of the current project, the one that Precia was in charge of, asking him to see what he could do to fix it. Kha immediately pointed out all the problems and that he might have to redraw it from the ground up, so the Manager gave him all the time he needed.

Happy to have some technology to play with, Kha scrambled home and got started, even working on it mentally through dinner. Being a simple girl, Kia didn't understand what was her son mumbling about other than it was about a "science project that a nice man let me work on" and let him be. Despite some questions remaining, he was mostly done before bedtime.

The next day, he went back to the factory. This time the Manager was waiting for him, and told him of the concerns he had dealing with this project. But the Manager told him not to worry and that he'll see what he could do. And so Kha went about his merry way again, with the Manager sometimes catching him before he left for a question or two. Little did he know, that he had all but costed Presia's job...

One year came and went. The children had no idea why Presea was becoming increasingly involved with her work, as politics at the factory continued to tear at the seams. It was only when Alicia herself confided that a man at work was giving her mother trouble over some machinery that Kha put the two and two together, and realized what he had done. The man was exposed, and the young Alexei subsequently refused to cooperate, for he had hoped that by aiding the project Alicia would have her wish come true, not the other way round. He felt that he had to return to apologize, but no longer had the guts to face Alicia, and he stopped visiting. The little girl had no clue and felt that it was her fault that Kha stopped coming by...

17th April 0060. A day that would be etched in Kha's mind for the rest of his life. An urgent call had come from the St Alexei Convent and Kha saw Kia gear up in her armor. He was instructed to stay at the church, and that his mother would be back in the morning, but the Whispers called out to him again.

Help me... Don't let them take me...

There was something in the forest; He had to go to the forest. And so he went.

Kha was about 30 minutes into the forest when a dull bang and brutal gale of searing air washed him off his feet into the brush. He clung on for dear life as explosions went off one after another, and the Mid-childa town practically went up in smoke. When the blasts calmed down, he looked back at the firestorm, and realized that the whole town had disappeared. He remembered Alicia might be still in the Factory, and was about to head for it when the bangle Kia used to contact Kha blazed to life. The sister homed in on the signal, but was both surprised and overjoyed that her son was safe. For first time, she believed that the voices speaking to Kha were true guardian angels, and the boy rode piggyback on his mother. As they took to the sky once again, Kha noticed that half the Factory had been leveled, and the entire town razed, but from look of things a powerful barrier protected the remaining structure. Renault and several towns that dotted the countryside were all in flames; Kia had to return, and with the sudden firestorm sweeping through the area, protecting the Convent was elevated to utmost importance, for sealed in its bowels were countless records of Velka history and powerful devices that could cause great havoc if they fell to the wrong hands.

Kha prayed that Alicia remained safe as he sped away.

The Convent was in the worst possible shape. It appeared that the leylines that powered the towns in the region had exploded in an unprecendented chain reaction, destroying whatever was connected to it. To make matters worse, the Convent was under attack from a handful of mages that seemed virtually unstoppable. Kia left her son to evacuate the younglings who haven't received formal training yet while she leapt into the firestorm to join her sisters in arms. Kha did what he was told, then headed back. By then, it was too late. Only two of the intruding mages have been defeated outside. The Convent Library had been breached, and two more bodies were inside, together with Kia slumped against a book shelf, her armor broken in places, bleeding visibly from a gash to her forehead, her ID Halbardier sticking out from her stomach. She willed Kha with her last breath to run away, and reminded him of the last stanza of the Velka Code.

"I've not been a good mother... Sorry..." Her blood stained hand fell away from his face.

To kill a Velka with his own weapon was the highest insult, and Kha swore that the debt shall be pain in blood likewise. Blinded by fury, Kha yanked Halbardier out and charged into the catacombs. He caught the intruder by surprise, driving the weapon through his back and out of his stomach with a force uncharacteristic of his size just as the cloaked figure was about to retrieve a divine Libram from the forcefully unsealed pulpit. The figure lashed out in anger, smashing the boy against another shelf and knocking him out. Before he could do any further damage however, Halbardier reactivated one last time and self-destructed, blasting the shadow mage to pieces and exacting revenge for the demise of his meister.

Admiral Graham's unit was in the vicinity when the disaster happened, but by the time they got there, the Convent, the last known training and development institute of Ancient Velka, had been completely wiped out by the blast and the attackers, it's vault of devices wasted by the wayward leylines. Aria managed to retrieve an unconcious but still breathing little boy clutching the Libram of Devotion from the catacombs...

Genius! I'm liking your Blue Cheese-kun's story before the first season. You should really start writing about this in a fanfic. Or at least you should post the summary of the next episode here. I'll certainly be looking forward to it. And yeah, I thought Kha was based on your forum name. Thanks for clarifying.

Btw, this is just character promotion, but I just thought of something about that 2 double Nanoha pic in the ED, the one with her in her uniform as the camera pans upwards. In actual fact, they were hiding the 4th Ace behind it, which is Kha! (even though they might just be reserving that slot for Ginga or Yuuno but who cares!)

I just felt it sounds like you. Wonder why that thought came in though... I'll be posting a summary next, and I think I shall start work on the pre-season 1 arc soon. I'm just afraid the next bit starts cheesing things again... We'll see how the story goes, and I'll nerf things as we go along, if need be.

Vacuum Magnum: Blade's right arm armor spins at amazing speeds and then launches an air cannon through the enemy.(similar to subaru's revolver knuckle)

Strike drill: With his right drill knee spinning, blade uses his right knee armor and charges into the enemy breaking their shield spells

Plasma Net: With hands outstretched, blade can catch opposing forces with plasma energy and toss them about with great force.

Hell and Heaven: Blade's Final Blow. It's method is to utilize all of the destructive energy in the right hand to blast through the enemy and all of the protective energies of the left hand to grasp the enemies core and purifies them. This attack is very stressful to the user and can cause permanent damage through excessive usage. The words blades mumbles before the attack are "Gemu Giru Gan Goh Gufo" (yeah it's the same as gaogaigar ^^)

Genesic barrier: An barrier of pure power that repels enemies.

Straight Drill (right knee armor): This drill knee strike with a more jack-hammer effect, doing a shockwave damage effect.

Strike Drill (left knee armor): This is a more normal drill knee strike, with the spinning and the tearing.

Knight Dagger (tail): Unlike the Fighting form before it, The Genesic form has a valid striking weapon meant for only one thing "cutting up the opposition". The Knight Dagger is a short dagger, but is housed in something like a foil's handgrip, completely covering the hand. It is created from the 1st section of it's tail, consisting only of the Head which transforms to become the Dagger. Apparently it can also be used to cut through/into Kuukan/Dimentional Spaces.

Genesic Hell and Heaven: Much like the original Hell and Heaven, but obviously a bit more powerful. In fact, it requires three pieces of it's tail (5th through 7th section) with then form massive claws over Genesic's hands. Still includes the unique 'gravity lock' effect that immobilizes the opponent, before Genesic rips out it's innards.

Defensive spells: (fighting and genesic form)

Barrier Shade: Blade holds forth his left hand and an invisible barrier forms. It is defense against both spell and projectile weapons, and can reflect some spell attacks

Background: Azuma Blade is a former TSAB armed forces "special response team", which, at the time of his membership, consisted of himself, Professor Ryuji Hibiki who created his device namely galeon, Blade has a natural bloodline ability called the berserker. The Berserker can be activated when blade's eye color changed from blue to red that can read enemy movement and attacks by looking at them and also it can perform varrious counter attacks on the enemy. Blade's only interest is in gaining strength, and has no interest in working with others if they cannot help him achieve this goal. While he does in time begin to break out of this shell, blade's quest for power countinues until he kills the person who killed his entire family Azuma-Lance and recover the remaining relics and protect the members of the TSAB Lost Logia Riot Force 6.

Childhood background: Much of Blade's childhood was spent living in the shadow of his older brother, Azuma-Lance, who had proven time and again that he was an extremely talented Mage. Because of Lance's successes, most of the members of the Azuma clan looked to lance as the clan's future, the biggest proponent of this idea being Blade's father, Azuma-Ryusei. Due to this focusing on Lance, Blade did what he could to prove himself to his family, though no amount of training could help him in surpassing the milestones set in place by his brother. Lance, aware of Blade's struggle for recognition, tried to shift some of their father's attention to Blade, even offering to train Blade in various fields of magic spells. Although Lance succeeded in getting Ryusei to spend more time with Blade, much of that time was still dedicated Lance, and all the while Lance never lived up to his promises of training Blade.

As time went by, Lance's standing in the clan began to falter, Lance becoming increasingly less dependable with tasks and constantly having his trustworthiness called into question. At this time, lance also began to create a more competitive relationship with Blade, challenging Blade to surpass him. Because of Lance's changing personality, Ryusei began to take a more active interest in Blade's development, teaching him the Hell and Heaven Technique in less time than Lance had taken to learn it, which also gave Blade a proper membership into the clan. Most prominently, Ryusei encouraged Blade to not follow in Lance's footsteps, the former prodigy of the clan having lost his father's confidence.

Soon after receiving the attention from his father that he had so yearned for, Blade returned home one day to find all the members of his clan dead, each murdered by Lance. After finding Lance standing over the bodies of their parents, Blade was forced to relive the murder of his parents through Lance's use of his Berserker. As Blade writhed from the visions he had seen, Blade informed him that he wasn't worth killing. As he left, lance repeated his encouragement to Blade to get strong enough to surpass him, and disappeared into the night. From that day forth, Blade lived as an orphan, longing for the parents that had been taken from him and allowing his brother's words to fester. Soon after the clan's annihilation, Blade's only goal in life became to gain power through any means necessary, then kill Lance to avenge the clan.

BACKGROUND
In her childhood years, Alex’s family was involved in the Briton-Astoria War, helping the kingdom facing the threat of the Republic of Astoria to the north. Left alone in the safe vicinity of Magnolia Valley, she spends her time learning magic from her mother and visits the valley’s Temple of Handmaidens every few months to expand her magic skills.

One day, while reading book on the history of the kings of Britannia, Alex falls asleep and dreams of meeting a woman named Lady of the Lake. The mysterious woman tells her to “pull the sword out of the stone” and disappears before the girl can ask for explanation. When she tells her mother who happens to be a handmaiden about the dream, she is told that it is the sign that a “great destiny” will descend upon her and she must accept it regardless of whether she wills it or not.

On her 13th birthday, Alex is approached by the Lady of the Lake again, and this time she tells the girl to visit the Isle of Avalon in Glastonbury Hill. Convinced that the dream is real, she visits the island cemetery where Arthur, the first king of Britannia, was buried. There is no sword stuck in the stone, but she does find a locket made of silver hanging on the tombstone. She picks it up and sees an inscription in Old Briton language that read:

“The gate to the new world has been opened. My soul shall be the wind that enters the gate. When the sleeping king awakes, my body, too, shall surely rise.”

Then out of nowhere, a young wizard named Joshua Merlin warns Alex of an oncoming attack. Before she can ask him what’s going on, the cemetery is attacked by the republic’s AMF machines, forcing Merlin to enter battle. Alex is told to leave the battle to him but she refuses and insists to help him. She joins the battle and uses her relatively limited magic power to knock out as many AMFs as she can. The machines keep spawning, and the two mages are getting surrounded.

Then the Lady of the Lake’s voice rings inside her head and she is heard reading a verse. Alex unconsciously repeats the verse and transforms from a humble village girl to a Barrier Jacket-donning, sword-carrying female knight. With her newfound power Alex destroys each and every one of the AMF machines and even decommissions their command post many miles away. She returns to her normal form afterwards, startled by the scale of destruction around her.

Merlin explains that he is assigned by his family to study the locket believed to be an Intelligent Armed Device. He asks Alex how she easily activates the Device and uses it to destroy the machines when he fails to do the same even after years or attempts. Her only explanation is that the Lady of the Lake told her to visit the tomb of King Arthur and had no idea that the “sword of the stone” was referring to the locket she found.

It is later discovered that Alexandra’s family, the House of Enfield, inherits the royal blood of the legendary king when 28 generations ago, Lady Mariel, daughter of Lord Enfield, married to Sir Halley, grandson of Arthur and Guinevere. Further studies also show that Arthur was in fact Britannia’s great mage and charismatic military commander whose heroic deed saved the kingdom from the threat of northerly barbaric tribes. The Lady of the Lake Alexandra mentioned earlier was the king’s former mentor, responsible for the design and construction of the Device, aptly named Excalibur. Now Merlin is convinced that Alexandra is chosen by fate to become the rightful owner of Excalibur since, according to legend, only those who inherit the pure blood of the king may bring the Device from its sleep. Fortunately for the girl she doesn’t have to worry of saving the throne or leading her troops to battle as the Republican Army is gradually pushed back north by the Allied Forces.

After the war ends, Alex is advised by Merlin to join the Time-Space Administration Bureau as a qualified mage. At first she refuses, stating that she wants to enrol into the kingdom’s wizardry institution instead. After convinced by her parents that she will learn new things about magic, especially the widespread Mid-Childan and Belkan systems, she eventually agrees.

Two weeks later she moves to Mid-Childa.

POWER
Alexandra is the typical Briton who practices the Visalian magic system. It is a unique form of magic that emphasises on harnessing the host’s inner force (referred to as Spirit Wave, a kind of Qigong) and using it as a source of magic power. Unlike elemental-based magic, Spirit Wave is “pure energy” and is not subjected to elemental weakness.

Even without knowledge on Spirit Wave, Alexandra is still a prodigy on her own right. She began learning magic from her mother as early as three years old. By the age of seven, she already joined the royal wizardry school and graduated as a First-Class Mage when she was only nine. She would have enrolled in the Royal Institution of Wizardry had the Republic of Astoria not declared war on Britannia. To this day, she still keeps a dream to become a part of the prestigious institution.

Currently Alexandra is undergoing preliminary test conducted by Admiral Chrono Haraoun. If she passes the test, she will be assigned under Tactical Instructor Takamachi Nanoha.

EXCALIBUR
There is a story behind Excalibur. Legend has it that the Lady of the Lake once offered Arthur a choice of golden sword or silver sword as a replacement to the iron sword he dropped into the lake. The humble king politely declined the offer and wanted his iron sword instead. Touched by the king’s modesty, the Lady pointed him to the sword named Excalibur that was stuck in a stone near the lake. The king easily pulled the sword out of the stone and became its rightful owner since then.

Studies conducted by staffs of the Infinity Library reveal some unexpected twist to the legend. The Lady of the Lake was actually Vivian Hahn, Arthur’s former mentor and one of Visalia’s talented mages. Excalibur was a Device originally designed by the circle of the mage that would later form the Court of Camelot to test compatibility between magic-harnessing devices and Spirit Wave. Of 125 volunteers who joined the experiment, only Arthur succeeded in bringing the device under control. Vivian was so impressed by the result that she declared that Arthur would be the rightful owner of Excalibur. Up till he became the king of Britannia, Arthur used the device in every military campaign he led, including the decisive Battle of The Channel where he and his soldiers defeated the Holy Plataea Empire.

Seven years into his reign, Arthur personally met his mentor and returned Excalibur to her, telling that he no longer had the desire to carry the sword upon his shoulder; he confessed that in order to yield the sword to protect Britannia he had to sacrifice his inner emotion. He even asked her seal the Device away, saying that “…and let there be no one who shall lay a finger upon Excalibur lest they intend ill omen to knock their door, for only the true inheritor of my blood shall fulfil the destiny and summon its name.” He passed away three months later and was buried side-by-side with his beloved wife Guinevere in Avalon. To grant her protégé’s final wish, Vivian welded the Device on the deceased king’s tombstone and cast a sealing bind upon it. She announced to her fellows that “only the rightful hand of the chosen one may pull the sword out of the stone.” She died 20 years later, taking with her all secrets of Excalibur to her grave.

Merlin points to a story where Excalibur was smeared in Arthur’s blood after he cut himself during a swordfight with a Plataean commander. This may explain, he continues, why despite her lack of knowledge on her legendary ancestor, Alexandra was able to unlock Excalibur after it was embedded on the tombstone for over 900 years (her hand, too, was cut after she accidentally touched the stone’s sharp edge, and some of the blood spilled onto the device, awakening it from its dormant state).

Excalibur had been believed to break down many times, and most of the damages were minor and easy to repair. It was when the Device sustained heavy damage during the siege on Stier Castle that it received major overhauls. Vivian had completely redesigned its blueprint and added extra components onto Excalibur, which includes installing a piece of equipment that was believed to be the precursor of the Belkan cartridge system as it is known today (it used compressed energy crystals rather than cartridge to supply the Device with additional magic power).

For an Intelligent Device designed in the Middle-Age, Excalibur is very advanced of its time. Where Vivian acquired the knowledge to construct such unique Device will never be known. It has also been suggested that Excalibur may have been a Unison Device, but it remains only a speculation.

Excalibur has male voice and speaks English. It addresses Arthur (and later, Alexandra) as “my lord.”

FORMS

• Sealed: Excalibur in this form looks nothing more than a common locket. It is identified by a quote in Old Briton that says “Arthur, Unifier of Britannia.”
• Camelot: this is Excalibur in its most recognized form. It comes equipped with Avalon, its sheath that can also be deployed as a secondary sword, enabling double-sword combat to be performed. There are two modes of Excalibur in this form:

• Battle Mode: used for hand-to-hand combat.
• Shooter Mode: used for long-range combat, shooting projectiles or energy beams.

• Lionheart: this form shares the same characteristic as Camelot form, except that the sheath and the sword are fused to form a broad sword. At the end of the hilt there is a nano-turbine generator used to greatly amplify magic power. Arthur never used Excalibur in this form, as the existence of the third form was unknown in the era, although he had been reported to use the form’s Noble Illusions on several occasions.

For Camelot and Lionheart forms, the Energy Crystal Compressor is located inside the sword’s rectangular clamps that tightly fasten the blade onto the hilt. Each clamp can store five energy crystals and functions like a Lee-Enfield magazine clip (it won’t detach until all crystals are used up). Since it is the prototype of the Belkan system, the compressor is also compatible with Belkan magic cartridges.

Arthur used the full-paragraphed incantation only once when he activated Excalibur for the first time. As it was a customary for mages during his time to use long phrases, he frequently used the paragraph as ceremonial spell. Alexandra also uses the incantation paragraph but finds reciting the long phrases bothersome and uses simpler, easy-to-understand command.

Profile: A very casual person with a rather twisted sense of humor. He was recruited into TSAB at the age of 11. He worked as an Enforcer and part-time device mechanic for six years. He served as a top class Enforcer until a successful but catastrophic mission concerning Lost Logia where he lost his left arm when one of them blew up. He took one year off duty after receiving a prosthetic arm. Incidentally, he took his vacation in Earth, resulting in his familiarity with Earth-related matters. (He drops in from time to time) He was invited to once again join the ranks of TSAB enforcers but he instead opted to enter a school in Mid-Childa studying the more advanced world's equivalent of psychology. For unknown reasons, he decided to enter the technology department of TSAB after three years in school. Throughout these events, he maintained a resigned but positive outlook in life.

In his early years in the Tech Department, he mainly focused on research of expanding upon the functionalities of Storage Devices without heavy reliance on AI. To the shock of many, he tried incoporating a large range of functions on his prosthetic arm, later resulting in his primary device for years to come. He named his arm Reishiki (Type Zero). After revamping his fighting style as a mage to match his device (in his personal training room in the facility), he decided to play the part of a researcher and bodyguard of technology personel. During the incidents with The Garden of Time and The Book of Darkness, he was away on a reasearch trip on another sector of the galaxy. Upon learning the news, he decided to keep an eye on the exceptionally talented young female mages, namely the Aces. He took particular interest in Yagami Hayate, who was able to gain ownership of the legendary Book of Darkness. He did have his reservations in letting long-time fugitives, namely the Wolkeritter, into active service in the TSAB.

After two more years, he decided to have a 'extremely' close look on what kind of person Hayate was. He got his chance during one of his trips to Earth (Around the time before Rein was born), which incidentally, where the Aces were currently at. He deviced a way to isolate Hayate from the others and have a long discussion with her. Predictably, Hayate was extremely alarmed and attempted to engage in combat. But he was able to set up a trap and managed to calm her down before she was able to free herself. Setting up several magical isolation fields, he held the 11-year old girl in an 'interview'. After learning the details firsthand, he decided that the 'Miracle Girl' was indeed a blessing to TSAB. Right then and there, he decided that it would be extremely interesting if he could observe the progress of such young people in TSAB. He decided to tell his life story in brief to the young girl and his objective in talking with her. With that being said, he helped Hayate get over her insecurities with the spiteful regards to her by some people because of her involvement with the Book of Darkness; not to mention missing Reinforce immensely. Subsequent to some professional counselling (He did study Intergalactic Psychology after all) he decided to take his leave. After apologizing and thanking Hayate, he parted with the girl with an affectionate pat on the head while teleporting away, claiming that they'll never meet again. Hayate was later found crying by her worried companions. When asked, she simply said that she met an extremely wierd but nice person.

By some extremely twisted twist of fate, Aurion would meet the Aces, including Hayate exactly two days later when they were commissioned to help with the research of Neo-Velkan magic in the very same facility he was working on. He took the unexpectedly early reunion in stride and cheerfully welcomed the newcomers. As he expected, Hayate's reaction to seeing him again was nothing short of hilarious. Which later resulted in a long explanation after being threatened to be killed on the spot by her Knights. After things calmed down a bit and a proper introduction to Nanoha and Fate, they were finally able to go ahead with the research. The other two Aces became comfortable around the wierd man soon enough. Amusingly, Hayate harbored a childish resentment towards him that lasted for most of their one-week visit (He was forgiven later on at least). In the process of research, he decided to take a more active part in Neo-Velka magic (which would be later incorporated into his personal style later). He sorely regretted allowing the visitors carry out the field testing in his personal training room (Which was partially demolished due to the insane amount of power of the guest mages). In the end of their short visit, Hayate got her revenge by commissioning Nanoha (who was willing) and Fate (who was reluctant) to call him Oji-chan (an affectionate way of saying uncle) when they were saying goodbye. Aurion, who was by then taking a drink, promptly spat out his drink and coughed for a good minute at the sudden act of familiarity, much to the delight of the Aces. (maybe except Fate who was worrying if they went overboard). Aurion thought wryly to himself that maybe he has met his match in wicked humor while watching the Aces and the Knights leave.

He would later create his second device, Synchronization Device Almaria after a year of the birth of Reinforce Zwei. Now, he still retains a similar but higher ranked position in the TSAB tech department. Despite being invited to join Riot Force 6 by Hayate, he declined the offer and instead opted to provide her with new equipment and intelligence reports for the operations of her new squad. Only time will tell if any changes in his current course in his life will take place...

Personality: Aurion, as already mentioned in the profile, is very casual and has a rather twisted sense of humor. He generally gets along well with anyone, being tactful even in those situations where he plays his little ‘Mind Games’ with his friends/coworkers. (Actually, he’s just embarrassing them with a good use of words) He is a talented voice actor and has managed to fool several people already about who’s actually talking at times. Usually, he addresses anyone in their surnames (if available) without honorifics. He always treats those younger than him like children (much to the annoyance of some), usually patting them on the head or using anything in kind. He did encounter a bout of depression in his youth at the loss of his left arm; which prompted him to study Intergalactic Psychology. Despite that, he is at heart, an innovative mage. He takes special interests in unusual devices (The devices of the protagonists actually giving him a long month of ‘enjoyable’ data analysis). He’s focus of interest in matters tend to alternate from ‘convenient’ to ‘interesting’ and sometimes, ‘exciting.’ The latter making his colleagues nervous. He has a trademark prank to those who doesn’t know him much, which is pulling off his left prosthetic left arm (which is usually under transformation magic to look like a normal arm). This more often than not scares the hell out of anyone of his victims. One of his favorite scenarios arising from this prank was when he performed this in front of the Aces, in where Nanoha screamed, Fate ‘almost’ fainted, and Hayate (while visibly shaking) called him an alien from one of those tokusatsu (think Kamen Rider and Ultraman) shows in Japan while backing away quickly.

Relationships: His relationship with the Aces (around eight to six years before StrikerS) is like a playful uncle to his nieces (which he decided was the right description after they called him Oji-chan). He treats Nanoha as an enthusiastic little student when showing her around his facilities during the Aces visiting time, explaining several matters to her along the way. He’s rather exasperated with Fate, whom he claims to ‘blush about almost everything outside of battles,’ which makes him avoid teasing her too much in fear that she might faint because of embarrassment. He’s particularly fond of Hayate, whom he likes to tease a lot. The young Kansai-ben girl, not to be outdone, plays the part of the ‘spoiled niece to her uncle’ in retaliation. As such, her Knights are not at all comfortable around him. Signum refers to him as a ‘devious and secretive person’ while Vita gets outright irritated by his attitude. Shamal and Zafira, despite being a little wary around him, doesn’t seem to mind as much as the other two Knights. He’s not interested in looking for a lifelong partner as of now, claiming that he still has a decade before getting worried and also saying that his much younger acquaintances qualifies as impromptu children already.

Barrier Jacket: Aurion never bothered to make major alterations to his barrier jacket since his days as an Enforcer. Its appearance is just like the standard issue TSAB barrier jacket design with a darker coloration with a matching cape that pretty much covers his entire body. He also sports a lightly decorated blue gauntlet at his right arm and matching combat boots at his feet.

DEVICES:
Primary: Expanded-function Device Reishiki (Type Zero)
His prosthetic arm also doubles as his multi-purpose device. Unlike other devices, Reishiki doesn’t come with a portable form (“Why the hell would I need a portable arm?!”). Instead, he opted to jam-pack the artificial appendage with several systems and functions that would do well to raise its processing speed and give it the functionality that far surpasses conventional devices. It does have a simple toggled transformation spell to make it look like a normal arm, however. In its device form, it looks like a bulky techno-gauntlet around his left arm, sporting a few buttons, a slot for something at elbow level, and exterior circuits. Two large cylinders are situated at the two sides of his forearms, which serve as spell amplifiers, magic particle accumulators and at times, non-magic based energy blades. A streamlined barrel runs from a little below his elbow (also below the slot) to his knuckles. This serves as a high-velocity magic rail gun which shoots firing spells at exponentially higher velocities (and subsequently, higher power) and also a non-magic based projectiles in occasions. Reishiki only has limited AI and has a mechanical male voice. He is activated without the need of voice command due to being directly connected to Aurion. He says, “Standing by” while being revealed and says, “Ready” right after the formation of Aurion’s Barrier Jacket. The right arm gauntlet and combat boots are expansions of Reishiki’s components. These also serve as expendable but easily replaceable instant spell charges.

Secondary: Synchronization Device Almaria
A few months after his first official meeting with the Aces, Reinforce Zwei is born. After being notified by an excited Hayate, he was one of the first few to witness a Unison Device used by a member of TSAB. Needless to say, the results were fascinating. He remembered coming across the documented instances of such a device was used in the TSAB Archives. Despite noting the dangers of reversal of control between the user and device in the past, but now, seeing what was happening before his eyes, he decided it was another miracle to be documented in his journal. After doing a run down on the several functions of a Unison device, he suddenly got a brainwave on the project he was currently working on, which was the improvement on the functions of Reishiki. After giving a quick apology and greeting to Hayate and 'Small Boss', he hurried back to the facility and started to work in his idea. He did make a point to apologize to the two and made a proper introduction with Rein, who was, incidentally, uncomfortable around him as well, hiding behind her mistress’ head ("He's wierd, Meister!"). Going back to business, he worked on a way on how to integrate a utility that could significantly boost the more technical aspects of Reishiki's functionality without the danger of overworking the already strained circuit of his custom device. After almost a year of work, he was finally able to create his Synchronization Device; which he named Almaria. 'Her' appearance is that of a rather sizable sliding cellphone with a TSAB emblem in place of the usual monitor (a holographic monitor is utilized in place of a small screen). Her voice is that of young girl in monotone. Like Reishiki, she is another device which has a permanent form, staying in the form of a sliding cellphone. Unlike her predecessor, she has a considerably advanced AI and is able to hold intelligent conversation with others. Another oddity about her is that she is able to speak Japanese when not in combat use unlike other one-dialect devices. This was a feature added by Aurion for better conversation with the device. However, in battle, she switches back seamlessly into English, occasionally speaking German while Aurion is casting Velka spells. Almaria is attached to the hollow slot directly above the ‘rail gun’ of Reishiki. Upon attachment and locking in as a single part, Reishiki says, “Complete.” From that point, Alamaria’s more advanced AI takes over the main combat and support functions of the entire arm while Reishiki takes a back seat in managing the internal functions of the extremely complex combination of the devices. This is where Aurion gets the benefit of a significant power boost and better defense due to the more advanced AI being ready to activate much more effective defenses automatically; freeing Aurion from the hassle of handling basic defenses and allowing him to concentrate better on his improved range of offensive capabilities. Almaria can still be slid open for manual input of commands for more time-consuming spells, functioning like hotkeys for instant execution of commands. This is also when Aurion is capable of performing the risky tactic called ‘Synchronization.’

Miscellaneous Equipment:
Customized/Unconventional Storage/Armed Devices:
Aurion has an odd habit of bringing along 2 to 4 random Storage or Armed Devices which he customized himself. None of these devices have AI capabilities and are just generally a bit sturdier and stronger than standard issue devices in TSAB (Incidentally, he also makes more money from manufacturing customized and improved devices for the higher-ranking mages of TSAB). The extra devices he brings can range from swords to firearms. And he tends to use them as a way of surprising the enemy by whipping out a new weapon on the fly. On some occasions, he discards these devices as magical grenades after laoding them with magical energy using his ‘Roulette’

Detachable Cartridge Loading Apparatus Roulette:
This is one of his more unusual inventions. The Roulette (as he calls it) is a magic cartridge loading system which take the form of a thick disc about eight inches in length. Unlike normal cartridge systems, this particular loader is detachable and can be used as an instant attachment to his to his devices. Devices in the forms of staves or anything else with long handles are generally compatible to its clamp-like attachment at it’s base. The main function this gadget is force-feeding twelve cartridges’ (arranged in a circular manner) worth of magical energy into a single device at two clicks (six cartridges at simultaneously loads per round). This more often than not leaves common devices set to explode due to the overload and explode due to the heavy concentration of magical energy. One particular tactic he uses is supercharging one of his random devices with the Roulette before throwing it as an extremely powerful magical energy bomb. This loader is compatible with Reishiki (by attaching to Reishiki’s base) but as of now has not been used. Aurion suspects that though Reishiki would most definitely withstand the strain of loading twelve cartridges’ amount of magical energy, his prosthetic arm would most likely malfunction due to overheating soon after. It is speculated that attaching Almaria to Reishiki may be able to circumvent this problem to a limited extent.

Instant Spell Cards:
Aurion also has access to a number of spell cards similar to those used by the Lieze twins. But unlike their’s his cards are expendable one-use only spell charges to be used when in need of a quick boost or springing a trap at the enemy. He mostly uses cards that are programmed with singular boost magic effects such as Magical Field Invalid and Acceleration Field in absence of a support mage.

Fighting Style: His style primarily involves in tactic-reliant use of his decent mastery of several Mid-Childan and Neo-Velkan spells; along with his several optional weapons at his disposal. The spells include Illusion, Binding, Field Control and Small Scale Bombardment Spells. In a more simple explanation, he prefers to defeat his opponents in a roundabout manner while spending as little stamina as possible. His tactics ranges from well-calculated maneuvers to small-scale psychological warfare to downright ridiculous ploys that messes up with the enemies’ head all the same. The first two are his preferred methods of in dealing with dangerous adversaries in real battles; propagating frustration and confusion in the enemy ranks and striking from a safe distance once the stage is set to go down. However, he almost always uses the latter tactic in practice matches, particularly against those with extremely high magic potentials such as the Aces. In truth, he was able to soundly defeat two of the Aces one-on-one during mock battles because of his (as his colleagues put it) devious machinations. He disturbed Nanoha’s concentration after dodging (and stealing some of) her shots with an illusion of a giant ferret doll (She thought that Yuuno had become large) and Fate by quickly reacting at a stationary position against her speed and following through by making an illusion of Chrono confessing to her (She fainted on the spot before Aurion even decided on what to subdue her with). Hayate, after seeing the tactics used against her two best friends, was more ready compared to the first two. Actually entering Unison Mode before the battle even started. Aurion, alarmed at such a serious move right at the start, (Not to mention fearing for his training facility. In fact, he confused and subdued Nanoha and Fate when they were setting up for Excelion Buster and Jet Zamber respectively, in order to avoid damage to his training room more than anything else) was forced to use his less used tactics and heavier magic field manipulation. ABILITIES:
Mid-Childa Spells:
As an elite Enforcer in his youth, Aurion has access to most of the spells that are known by field mages; along with some more complicated spells like Struggle Bind and Long-range Bind.

Neo-Belka Spells:
As his secondary/complementary magic style, his knowledge of Neo-Belka magic spells mostly comes from demonstrations of the Wolkenritter (and to a limited extent, Hayate). So far, he has only successfully replicated the more straight forward spells like Panzer Geist (which he uses as primary defense) and Explosion. He has also been able to replicate Zafira’s magic spikes rather well, his variation involving the discharge of one of his combat boots and stomping the ground in order to surround his immediate surrounding with the spikes in very little time. But for the most part, he only makes Belka variations of Mid-Childa spells for an additional boost in power at the expense of some range and control.

Magical Field Manipulation:
One of his favorite abilities, he uses an ability he obtained by unknown means due to the Lost Logia explosion 17 years ago in order to directly control the magic particles in the air for a good few meters around him, allowing him to used the recycled energies for spells that would normally come internally. To a limited extent, he is sometimes able to ‘steal’ low-power projectile spells from his opponents and use it against them (the first time he is shown to do this is when he stole some of Nanoha’s Axel Shooter units and used them against her). Attaching Almaria to Reishiki allows for a significant extension of his field of control (The maximum distance that he has been able to control as of now is twenty meters around him). During these instances, he is able to materialize and fire attacks and/or erect defenses from any given point in his field, allowing for omni-directional attacks and defense. However, this tactic is best used at a stationary position in order for perfect control, so he is most comfortable in using this when there are people watching his back. This tactic also gives severe mental strain when used at full power at long intervals.

Synchronization:
This is Aurion’s most potent and most dangerous option in combat. This involves perfectly (and forcefully) synchronizing his thoughts and perceptions with Almaria, increasing his magical and physical capabilities to a frightening level; and also increasing his magical perception and and control subsequently. In this mode, he is also given the option of moving at extremely high speeds (Sonic Move) for a full thirty seconds, giving the effect of slowing time in his perspective and allowing him to execute an impressive number of actions at less than a few seconds. However, using this ability has a dangerous side-effect to Aurion, namely overstraining his physical and mental faculties, as well as almost completely draining his Linker Core. The only time Aurion was able to use this was when he first tested this ability on a barren landscape away from any commercial or environmental establishments. To say the least, he collapsed from the exertion and was lucky enough to be discovered by TSAB members when they went to check on what was causing such a large-scale magical flux. He was in critical condition for several hours before he was somehow stabilized (Not to mention the damage that his devices received). He took a full month to recover from the trial run. After thinking back on the ordeal, he hoped that the first time he used such an action would also be his last (Though he is thinking about somehow incorporating the Roulette to hopefully walk around some of the flaws, as well as making several adjustments just in case). It is also amusing to note that despite of his unexpected injury he was still able to play his pranks with his acquaintances; most particularly playing dead to his ‘nieces.’ (Which they took seriously, much to his amusement and the Aces' annoyance when they found out, especially Hayate who, having no parents, had somehow grown a sense of attachment to her ‘uncle.’ She even went as far as tearfully whacking him at the head with the Harisen she was supposed to give as a gift, followed by a long scolding session for making them worry) Aurion has yet to try his new toned down and altered version of Synchronization in the future.

Secondary: Synchronization Device Almaria
A few months after his first official meeting with the Aces, Reinforce Zwei is born. After being notified by an excited Hayate, he was one of the first few to witness a Unison Device used by a member of TSAB. Needless to say, the results were fascinating. He remembered coming across the documented instances of such a device was used in the TSAB Archives. Despite noting the dangers of reversal of control between the user and device in the past, but now, seeing what was happening before his eyes, he decided it was another miracle to be documented in his journal. After doing a run down on the several functions of a Unison device, he suddenly got a brainwave on the project he was currently working on, which was the improvement on the functions of Reishiki. After giving a quick apology and greeting to Hayate and 'Small Boss', he hurried back to the facility and started to work in his idea. He did make a point to apologize to the two and made a proper introduction with Rein, who was, incidentally, uncomfortable around him as well, hiding behind her mistress’ head ("He's wierd, Meister!"). Going back to business, he worked on a way on how to integrate a utility that could significantly boost the more technical aspects of Reishiki's functionality without the danger of overworking the already strained circuit of his custom device. After almost a year of work, he was finally able to create his Synchronization Device; which he named Almaria. 'Her' appearance is that of a rather sizable sliding cellphone with a TSAB emblem in place of the usual monitor (a holographic monitor is utilized in place of a small screen). Her voice is that of young girl in monotone. Like Reishiki, she is another device which has a permanent form, staying in the form of a sliding cellphone. Unlike her predecessor, she has a considerably advanced AI and is able to hold intelligent conversation with others. Another oddity about her is that she is able to speak Japanese when not in combat use unlike other one-dialect devices. This was a feature added by Aurion for better conversation with the device. However, in battle, she switches back seamlessly into English, occasionally speaking German while Aurion is casting Velka spells. Almaria is attached to the hollow slot directly above the ‘rail gun’ of Reishiki. Upon attachment and locking in as a single part, Reishiki says, “Complete.” From that point, Alamaria’s more advanced AI takes over the main combat and support functions of the entire arm while Reishiki takes a back seat in managing the internal functions of the extremely complex combination of the devices. This is where Aurion gets the benefit of a significant power boost and better defense due to the more advanced AI being ready to activate much more effective defenses automatically; freeing Aurion from the hassle of handling basic defenses and allowing him to concentrate better on his improved range of offensive capabilities. Almaria can still be slid open for manual input of commands for more time-consuming spells, functioning like hotkeys for instant execution of commands. This is also when Aurion is capable of performing the risky tactic called ‘Synchronization.’

Miscellaneous Equipment:
Customized/Unconventional Storage/Armed Devices:
Aurion has an odd habit of bringing along 2 to 4 random Storage or Armed Devices which he customized himself. None of these devices have AI capabilities and are just generally a bit sturdier and stronger than standard issue devices in TSAB (Incidentally, he also makes more money from manufacturing customized and improved devices for the higher-ranking mages of TSAB). The extra devices he brings can range from swords to firearms. And he tends to use them as a way of surprising the enemy by whipping out a new weapon on the fly. On some occasions, he discards these devices as magical grenades after laoding them with magical energy using his ‘Roulette’

Detachable Cartridge Loading Apparatus Roulette:
This is one of his more unusual inventions. The Roulette (as he calls it) is a magic cartridge loading system which take the form of a thick disc about eight inches in length. Unlike normal cartridge systems, this particular loader is detachable and can be used as an instant attachment to his to his devices. Devices in the forms of staves or anything else with long handles are generally compatible to its clamp-like attachment at it’s base. The main function this gadget is force-feeding twelve cartridges’ (arranged in a circular manner) worth of magical energy into a single device at two clicks (six cartridges at simultaneously loads per round). This more often than not leaves common devices set to explode due to the overload and explode due to the heavy concentration of magical energy. One particular tactic he uses is supercharging one of his random devices with the Roulette before throwing it as an extremely powerful magical energy bomb. This loader is compatible with Reishiki (by attaching to Reishiki’s base) but as of now has not been used. Aurion suspects that though Reishiki would most definitely withstand the strain of loading twelve cartridges’ amount of magical energy, his prosthetic arm would most likely malfunction due to overheating soon after. It is speculated that attaching Almaria to Reishiki may be able to circumvent this problem to a limited extent.

Instant Spell Cards:
Aurion also has access to a number of spell cards similar to those used by the Lieze twins. But unlike their’s his cards are expendable one-use only spell charges to be used when in need of a quick boost or springing a trap at the enemy. He mostly uses cards that are programmed with singular boost magic effects such as Magical Field Invalid and Acceleration Field in absence of a support mage.

Fighting Style: His style primarily involves in tactic-reliant use of his decent mastery of several Mid-Childan and Neo-Velkan spells; along with his several optional weapons at his disposal. The spells include Illusion, Binding, Field Control and Small Scale Bombardment Spells. In a more simple explanation, he prefers to defeat his opponents in a roundabout manner while spending as little stamina as possible. His tactics ranges from well-calculated maneuvers to small-scale psychological warfare to downright ridiculous ploys that messes up with the enemies’ head all the same. The first two are his preferred methods of in dealing with dangerous adversaries in real battles; propagating frustration and confusion in the enemy ranks and striking from a safe distance once the stage is set to go down. However, he almost always uses the latter tactic in practice matches, particularly against those with extremely high magic potentials such as the Aces. In truth, he was able to soundly defeat two of the Aces one-on-one during mock battles because of his (as his colleagues put it) devious machinations. He disturbed Nanoha’s concentration after dodging (and stealing some of) her shots with an illusion of a giant ferret doll (She thought that Yuuno had become large) and Fate by quickly reacting at a stationary position against her speed and following through by making an illusion of Chrono confessing to her (She fainted on the spot before Aurion even decided on what to subdue he with). Hayate, after seeing the tactics used against her two best friends, was more ready compared to the first two. Actually entering Unison Mode before the battle even started. Aurion, alarmed at such a serious move right at the start, (Not to mention fearing for his training facility. In fact, he confused and subdued Nanoha and Fate when they were setting up for Excelion Buster and Jet Zamber respectively, in order to avoid damage to his training room more than anything else) was forced to use his less used tactics and heavier magic field manipulation. I LOL'd at how Aurion fought and defeated the Aces. He's the first person in this universe to use humor offensively. Even I- no Kha's a little afraid, especially when none of his spells break illusions, since he has yet to encounter a heavy illusion user. Kha's "Dichtung von Righteousness" is the closest parallel to your Roulette, as in having a grenade-like function. And I imagine a weird device battle like this:

Anyway here's part 2. I found it to be not as riveting the previous one due to the emphasis on action than story. Most of the epi is about 2 mages vs mages, riflemen and drones, so while the Velka Meister did most of the fancy moves and saves, I think Kha dodges so much it seems wrong for a B mage. It might be a little cliche too, and the references are starting to trickle in. There's also an introduction of a certain Newtype Boost at the end of the chapter from Kha's existing skill tree.

As usual please tell me if I got some canon wrong again.

Chap 2 - A Knight's Path

Kha woke up at TSAB's Altaria Naval Outpost Medical Center in the company of the Lieze twins. He wondered where he was, were there survivors, whether they heard of anyone called Alicia, and where does he go from here. The twins have no answer, but instead they pepper him with several of their own. Kha thus explained more things about himself and the Cleric-knight tradition. As it turned out, when Halbardier went nova, the Libram protected him from the blast and the collapsing walls while bringing him to the surface of the toppling structure. Also, the Libram chose Kha to be its Meister, though when asked why she'd reply that it felt right to choose Kha. With that, the book manifested its device form for the first time, introducing herself as Tausend Kreuz, the Thousand Cross. Kha accepts the device, and decided there and then that he would carry on training and become a fully-fledged CK to keep the tradition, and his mother's memory, alive. Graham entered the room, and heard of his requests. But the old commander informed him that Ancient Velka users were rare and few between, especially after the Renault disaster. The way of the Velka was almost extinct in that modern day and age. But Kha persists, and Graham admits that knows of an old friend who isn't in the TSAB, but a mercenary working for private companies excavating archaeological ruins in dangerous environments. Gil knew that man from long ago, and still keeps in touch, especially when he helps out, rather unwillingly, with the TSAB. The admiral made a call to that friend, one Touareg Volks (Volkswagen's Touareg is a 4WD) whom he addresses as Tou, and after much haggling he manages to arm-wrestle Tou to take the kid in.

Sadly, Kia's body, as well as those who were trapped inside in the collapsed catacombs could not be recovered. After a mass funeral on the grounds of the ruins of the Saint Alexei Convent, where Kha and the surviving Velka younglings pay tribute to their nee-sans, the boy ships out to an unmarked planet, the 46th Non-administrated World. It was an uninhabited world most noted for its equitorial desert, but since the sand was thick ancient Velka devices, it was dubbed Velk by the archaeologists from all walks of ordered space drawn to the planetary treasure trove. Historical evidence showed that at the height of the Velka empire, Velk was a triving hub, but factional strife and rampant civil war slowly reduced the place to ruin, and drove Velka refugees all over the multiverse. Then, a doomsday weapon appeared and the planet was thus wiped clean. Most of the devices have been corroded or destroyed beyond serviceability, and have been excavated and distributed amongst museams, but 96 percent of the working ones were saved in the now-demolished Convent Vault. On that note, Kha the Velka Page began training under the reluctant Velka Meister Tou.

Three years flew by. Kha became stronger every day, with his mastery of Tausend Kreuz improving by leaps and bounds. Also, using the rusted Velka devices, Kha successfully reverse-engineered the CVK-792 system and built a prototype into the TK. He had learned new spells, and continued to teach himself more and more advanced healing techniques from what he could make of the runes in the Libram. He'd meet new friends, and got to know more about Tou in the days they would spend together.

But the honeymoon was not to last forever. The desert sand was a mine of high energy crystals nicknamed Velkanite, as the planet had the highest in concentration of those crystals than any other known planet. Even rarer are the colored forms of the crystal, which were rumoured to be one of the raw materials for growing Jewel Seeds and building many forms of overtechnology, even growing a strange red crystal that the Whispers call Relic. It had started as a become a major problem over the years they worked there, and it came to a head during the 3rd year since Kha's arrival, when it was discovered that a group was smuggling Velkanite off-planet. As they were out investigating, they missed the memo notifying all TSAB affiliated personnel to be on the look out for the Wolkenrietter and the Book of Darkness.

One day, while they were checking out another suspected smugglers' encampment, Tou's Schicksal and Kreuz detected a combatant battling an Articular Sandworm within range. By the time they got there, the worm was downed, but the mage fighting it had already passed out from being crushed after its dead weight fell on her. Tou extracted the red goth loli from under the reptile-worm, and Kha got to work. He managed to fix her ribs and sprained ankle, and with more effort managed to stabilize her. They returned to the smugglers' camp and rested for the night.

The rescued mage came round late in the evening, as the temperature continued to drop to below freezing. The red goth loli found herself wrapped in the same cloak as another mage, and instantly went into attack mode, but her bad wrist and freshly healed joints retorted loudly. The page took that as delirium and told her to calm down, that she was safe and nothing to worry about. They found that her name was Vita, and that she "just happened to be in the area", which was rather unbelievable to Tou, but Kha decides to respect her decision and not question further until the morning.

The trio were rudely awakened at dawn by the hum of aircraft engines. A quick scan yielded a stolen ship, and instantly page and meister sprang to their feet. What they least expected was it to pass right overhead. That's when Vita discovered that her book was missing and was ready to pulverize both Velka for it. They decided to return to the dead sandworm's body. There, lo and behold, was the stolen ship. Many of its personel were checking out the area, and Tou opted to keep on observing. That was until Vita saw one of them handling her book and charged out blindly, forcing meister and page to move. After an intense round batting back magical gunfire, slicing through wayward Velka, and Vita smashing the face of the unlucky person holding her book, the trio managed to hold off the smugglers long enough for Vita to get her book and beat the heck out of there. Somehow later, with a few more laser burns to their knight armors, they managed to seize the ship. Kha was still high from adrenaline and Tou was cursing that "brainless bunny girl" for getting them in the same hairy situation that she had gotten herself into the day before.

After some quick repairs, Kha got the ship's controls online again. -"Really Kha, what machine can you not fix?!"- From the flight records, they worked out the existence of a central processing plant half buried in the sand and protected with a magic cloaking field. And so after Kha reported in to Graham, the old man told them to wait out for reinforcements. Then, Kha heard a voice, that of his mother, and she was screaming in pain. Graham was shocked from Kha's sudden outburst that his mother was in that facility, and they were doing things to her. He was ready to recall Kha from the investigation, when Tou stepped up, saying that he'd go along, and that they'll be fine. Now Gil felt that they were both going nuts from Velkanite exposure (a sarcastic comment rather than factual), but he trusted Tou's judgement, and authorized the raid, but only to investigate Kha's instincts, which the old man knew more often than not tended to be right. After which they were to fall back and wait for Enforcer support.

And so, the stealth began. They succeeded in sneaking into the facility, and even more fights broke out against drones drones and more drones, then finally, they reached the core, which was guarded by none other than the Impaler herself. She didn't recognize her own son despite Kha calling out, and kept on attacking mutely. Tou was uncharacteristically unsettled, and moved to engage Kia directly while telling Kha to figure out a way to shut the base down so that once Tou captures Kia they could escape. The boy did his best, but as he leapt to and hacked into the many consoles scattered about the reactor core, he was getting more and more outnumbered by the drones that seem to materialize out of nowhere. His Gotteliches Rapier was becoming less and less effective as the various AMFs wore the "Segen von Gerechtigkeit" on it down. Meanwhile, the badly injured Tou realized that there was no way Kha could handle all the drones and shut down the core, and himself knocking some sense into Kia without killing her. So the man yelled to Kha to forget it and try another method. As the boy made his way back, Tou suddenly found an opening and went for it.

"Meister! No!" Kha screamed.

But instead of killing her, Tou embraced and kissed her, much to Kha's surprise. Kia's too.

"Say, Kia, shall we go together?"

Schicksal powered on again, and the magic blade speared both mages through the chest.

"Tou...?"

The drones around him suddenly froze as though the controls were cut from them suddenly. But by the time the distraught Velka page reached their side, both meisters had lost a lot of blood, and as much as Kha tried to heal them, they were slowly fading away.

"Tou, he really looks like you..."

"I figured he'd be... Kha."

"Yes Meister?"

"Schicksal..."

Kha touched the ID, and the Whispers came active again. Suddenly everything made sense...

"Father... Mother..."

Tou's smirky grin sat fixed to his face. Kia was at peace. But there was neither time to celebrate nor to mourn, for the reserve control plug came online and the drones reactivated. They may not be as smart as they were when they used Kia's brain as a processing core, but there was a lot of them.

"To-san... Ka-san... Admiral Graham is coming... As for you monsters..."

With renewed resolve, a cross inside him burst. [Avenging Zorn!]

"Out of my way!"

When his reflexes quickened and strength enhanced, Kha lanced through the reactor core, placed a Watcher-Engel shield around themselves and just as the shield gave finished the teleportation spell and warped to safety. The facility blew sky high. As his boost wore off, fatigue and pain caught up with him and he collapsed onto his parents' limp forms.

We all know that Aria and Lotte were delayed during that operation. In the end, Kha's friends arrived first, but nothing could've been done for Tou and Kia even if anybody did came earlier.

Even as more questions remained, another chapter of Kha's life came to a close...

I LOL'd at how Aurion fought and defeated the Aces. He's the first person in this universe to use humor offensively. Even I- no Kha's a little afraid, especially when none of his spells break illusions, since he has yet to encounter a heavy illusion user. Kha's "Dichtung von Righteousness" is the closest parallel to your Roulette, as in having a grenade-like function. And I imagine a weird device battle like this:

Thanks! I particularly enjoyed doing the vs Fate scenario in my head. Though I must clarify that the Roulette only supercharges a device and is removed later instead of being part of the blast. I must also make it clear that those vs battles happened around seven years from StrikerS, making the Aces twelve years of age by those times.

Fun facts would be a nice section indeed. I'm sure Oji-chan has much adventures with the ladies of the TSAB. I'll put some of Kha's up too, once I fix all of his history for canon errors.

I'd really enjoy incorporating the characters in this thread into my version of the Nanohaverse. Though only as cameo characters and no hostility involved. But I'm not so crazy as to do that aren't I?

Anyway here's part 2. I found it to be not as riveting the previous one due to the emphasis on action than story. Most of the epi is about 2 mages vs mages, riflemen and drones, so while the Velka Meister did most of the fancy moves and saves, I think Kha dodges so much it seems wrong for a B mage. It might be a little cliche too, and the references are starting to trickle in. There's also an introduction of a certain Newtype Boost at the end of the chapter from Kha's existing skill tree.

As usual please tell me if I got some canon wrong again.

Chap 2 - A Knight's Path

Kha woke up at TSAB's Altaria Naval Outpost Medical Center in the company of the Lieze twins. He wondered where he was, were there survivors, whether they heard of anyone called Alicia, and where does he go from here. The twins have no answer, but instead they pepper him with several of their own. Kha thus explained more things about himself and the Cleric-knight tradition. As it turned out, when Halbardier went nova, the Libram protected him from the blast and the collapsing walls while bringing him to the surface of the toppling structure. Also, the Libram chose Kha to be its Meister, though when asked why she'd reply that it felt right to choose Kha. With that, the book manifested its device form for the first time, introducing herself as Tausend Kreuz, the Thousand Cross. Kha accepts the device, and decided there and then that he would carry on training and become a fully-fledged CK to keep the tradition, and his mother's memory, alive. Graham entered the room, and heard of his requests. But the old commander informed him that Ancient Velka users were rare and few between, especially after the Renault disaster. The way of the Velka was almost extinct in that modern day and age. But Kha persists, and Graham admits that knows of an old friend who isn't in the TSAB, but a mercenary working for private companies excavating archaeological ruins in dangerous environments. Gil knew that man from long ago, and still keeps in touch, especially when he helps out, rather unwillingly, with the TSAB. The admiral made a call to that friend, one Touareg Volks (Volkswagen's Touareg is a 4WD) whom he addresses as Tou, and after much haggling he manages to arm-wrestle Tou to take the kid in.

Sadly, Kia's body, as well as those who were trapped inside in the collapsed catacombs could not be recovered. After a mass funeral on the grounds of the ruins of the Saint Alexei Convent, where Kha and the surviving Velka younglings pay tribute to their nee-sans, the boy ships out to an unmarked planet, the 46th Non-administrated World. It was an uninhabited world most noted for its equitorial desert, but since the sand was thick ancient Velka devices, it was dubbed Velk by the archaeologists from all walks of ordered space drawn to the planetary treasure trove. Historical evidence showed that at the height of the Velka empire, Velk was a triving hub, but factional strife and rampant civil war slowly reduced the place to ruin, and drove Velka refugees all over the multiverse. Then, a doomsday weapon appeared and the planet was thus wiped clean. Most of the devices have been corroded or destroyed beyond serviceability, and have been excavated and distributed amongst museams, but 96 percent of the working ones were saved in the now-demolished Convent Vault. On that note, Kha the Velka Page began training under the reluctant Velka Meister Tou.

Three years flew by. Kha became stronger every day, with his mastery of Tausend Kreuz improving by leaps and bounds. Also, using the rusted Velka devices, Kha successfully reverse-engineered the CVK-792 system and built a prototype into the TK. He had learned new spells, and continued to teach himself more and more advanced healing techniques from what he could make of the runes in the Libram. He'd meet new friends, and got to know more about Tou in the days they would spend together.

But the honeymoon was not to last forever. The desert sand was a mine of high energy crystals nicknamed Velkanite, as the planet had the highest in concentration of those crystals than any other known planet. Even rarer are the colored forms of the crystal, which were rumoured to be one of the raw materials for growing Jewel Seeds and building many forms of overtechnology, even growing a strange red crystal that the Whispers call Relic. It had started as a become a major problem over the years they worked there, and it came to a head during the 3rd year since Kha's arrival, when it was discovered that a group was smuggling Velkanite off-planet. As they were out investigating, they missed the memo notifying all TSAB affiliated personnel to be on the look out for the Wolkenrietter and the Book of Darkness.

One day, while they were checking out another suspected smugglers' encampment, Tou's Schicksal and Kreuz detected a combatant battling an Articular Sandworm within range. By the time they got there, the worm was downed, but the mage fighting it had already passed out from being crushed after its dead weight fell on her. Tou extracted the red goth loli from under the reptile-worm, and Kha got to work. He managed to fix her ribs and sprained ankle, and with more effort managed to stabilize her. They returned to the smugglers' camp and rested for the night.

The rescued mage came round late in the evening, as the temperature continued to drop to below freezing. The red goth loli found herself wrapped in the same cloak as another mage, and instantly went into attack mode, but her bad wrist and freshly healed joints retorted loudly. The page took that as delirium and told her to calm down, that she was safe and nothing to worry about. They found that her name was Vita, and that she "just happened to be in the area", which was rather unbelievable to Tou, but Kha decides to respect her decision and not question further until the morning.

The trio were rudely awakened at dawn by the hum of aircraft engines. A quick scan yielded a stolen ship, and instantly page and meister sprang to their feet. What they least expected was it to pass right overhead. That's when Vita discovered that her book was missing and was ready to pulverize both Velka for it. They decided to return to the dead sandworm's body. There, lo and behold, was the stolen ship. Many of its personel were checking out the area, and Tou opted to keep on observing. That was until Vita saw one of them handling her book and charged out blindly, forcing meister and page to move. After an intense round batting back magical gunfire, slicing through wayward Velka, and Vita smashing the face of the unlucky person holding her book, the trio managed to hold off the smugglers long enough for Vita to get her book and beat the heck out of there. Somehow later, with a few more laser burns to their knight armors, they managed to seize the ship. Kha was still high from adrenaline and Tou was cursing that "brainless bunny girl" for getting them in the same hairy situation that she had gotten herself into the day before.

After some quick repairs, Kha got the ship's controls online again. -"Really Kha, what machine can you not fix?!"- From the flight records, they worked out the existence of a central processing plant half buried in the sand and protected with a magic cloaking field. And so after Kha reported in to Graham, the old man told them to wait out for reinforcements. Then, Kha heard a voice, that of his mother, and she was screaming in pain. Graham was shocked from Kha's sudden outburst that his mother was in that facility, and they were doing things to her. He was ready to recall Kha from the investigation, when Tou stepped up, saying that he'd go along, and that they'll be fine. Now Gil felt that they were both going nuts from Velkanite exposure (a sarcastic comment rather than factual), but he trusted Tou's judgement, and authorized the raid, but only to investigate Kha's instincts, which the old man knew more often than not tended to be right. After which they were to fall back and wait for Enforcer support.

And so, the stealth began. They succeeded in sneaking into the facility, and even more fights broke out against drones drones and more drones, then finally, they reached the core, which was guarded by none other than the Impaler herself. She didn't recognize her own son despite Kha calling out, and kept on attacking mutely. Tou was uncharacteristically unsettled, and moved to engage Kia directly while telling Kha to figure out a way to shut the base down so that once Tou captures Kia they could escape. The boy did his best, but as he leapt to and hacked into the many consoles scattered about the reactor core, he was getting more and more outnumbered by the drones that seem to materialize out of nowhere. His Gotteliches Rapier was becoming less and less effective as the various AMFs wore the "Segen von Gerechtigkeit" on it down. Meanwhile, the badly injured Tou realized that there was no way Kha could handle all the drones and shut down the core, and himself knocking some sense into Kia without killing her. So the man yelled to Kha to forget it and try another method. As the boy made his way back, Tou suddenly found an opening and went for it.

"Meister! No!" Kha screamed.

But instead of killing her, Tou embraced and kissed her, much to Kha's surprise. Kia's too.

"Say, Kia, shall we go together?"

Schicksal powered on again, and the magic blade speared both mages through the chest.

"Tou...?"

The drones around him suddenly froze as though the controls were cut from them suddenly. But by the time the distraught Velka page reached their side, both meisters had lost a lot of blood, and as much as Kha tried to heal them, they were slowly fading away.

"Tou, he really looks like you..."

"I figured he'd be... Kha."

"Yes Meister?"

"Schicksal..."

Kha touched the ID, and the Whispers came active again. Suddenly everything made sense...

"Father... Mother..."

Tou's smirky grin sat fixed to his face. Kia was at peace. But there was neither time to celebrate nor to mourn, for the reserve control plug came online and the drones reactivated. They may not be as smart as they were when they used Kia's brain as a processing core, but there was a lot of them.

"To-san... Ka-san... Admiral Graham is coming... As for you monsters..."

With renewed resolve, a cross inside him burst. [Avenging Zorn!]

"Out of my way!"

When his reflexes quickened and strength enhanced, Kha lanced through the reactor core, placed a Watcher-Engel shield around themselves and just as the shield gave finished the teleportation spell and warped to safety. The facility blew sky high. As his boost wore off, fatigue and pain caught up with him and he collapsed onto his parents' limp forms.

We all know that Aria and Lotte were delayed during that operation. In the end, Kha's friends arrived first, but nothing could've been done for Tou and Kia even if anybody did came earlier.

Even as more questions remained, another chapter of Kha's life came to a close...

Nice! And the involvement of 'bunny girl' Vita there was way unexpected. It looks like your prologue is over and the real story is finally going to begin. I'm most looking forward to Kha's interaction with Fate and the others.

Just out of curiosity (and a little craziness), if Aurion resided in your version in Nanohaverse, how would Kha feel about Oji-chan? By the way I see it, Kha would most likely be annoyed by him about teasing Fate (as well as others) in particular.

Device History: This device is a 'Sealed Device', a device that symbolizes a certain power of magic, as well as the medium in which the stability of the multiverse has been locked into during its creation. Being as such, anyone who holds one of the nine devices- a one-handed sword, a two-handed sword, a shield, a spear, a gun, a bow, a jewel, a staff and a book; can manipulate part of the laws of magic itself, bending it to his or her will. This device was found in a cache of device fragments while she and two of her fellow aces were investigating a Lost Logia case on Earth. at first, she didn't know that the crystal cross- the device on standby mode, was one of the devices they were looking for, and instead, she wore it like a piece of jewelry. After the team was broken up due to a fellow teammate retirng for married life, it suddenly activated during a sudden scramble, making the once melee natural mage to now take up the gun. After she had risen up to the position, she barely uses the device, due to a secret- and then, The new Aces come in...


Modes:

Gun Mode: The basic form of Vulcan. it's normal attack are simple shots of energy.

Mode Skills:
-Shotgun Burst: Fires all barrels at once, shot akin to a shotgun and similar to the Metal Storm system. Consumes one cartridge per release.
-Dance of the Gunner: 'Dances' and fires wildly, scattering shells into the area around her and the target. consumes 2 cartridges per release.
-Eagle Crusher: Fires ten charged shells in rapid succession, enabling it to shatter shields by chance and possibly pulverize the target due to the force of the shells. consumes 3 cartridges for release.

Launcher Mode: The device's barrels close up and only a singular hole in the middle of the barrel assembly appears, enabling the gun to basically become a magic bazooka, shooting 'rockets' of homing energy, the damage rate may be affected a bit by AMF, but still can deliver a hurting shot when it hits. the greatest drawback though is each shot consumes a cartridge per shot and the recoil can easily tire her.

Mode Skills:
-Powered Shot: a powerful focused shot of an energized missile.
-Cluster Bomb: an attack that fires a missile over an area and blows above the target, hitting the target in smaller damaging explosions. consumes one cartridge per release.
-Hyperblast: a much more powerful version of the Powered Shot, taking more energy and enabling the attack to do splash damage. consumes 3 cartridges, one for starting, one for charging and one for release.

Siege Mode: while in launcher mode, it can deploy a siege frame that encloses Vulcan in a mechanical shroud, enabling the gun/launcher to fire faster and much more powerful, but disabling the mage's movement (though she can aim in place) and ability to dodge, as the combined device and frame are too ungainly for movement.

Mode Skills:
-Compound Siege: a powerful, charged shot using the siege frame's booster to provide attack power and projectile speed.
-Cluster Blast: an attack similar to Cluster Bomb, but instead of blowing up above the target, the shot exits the barrel already clustered, spreads out towards the target/s and blows them up- a much more powerful version of the Shotgun Burst in a sense.
-Chain Rockets: a powerful shot of not just one, but three highly charged, extremely energetic rockets, boosted by the siege frame's booster and also by the magic power of Kyla. it consumes all seven cartridges of the clip- 1 for opening, 1 for charging, 2 for boosting and the last 3 for shooting the rockets themselves.

Normal Spells/Skills:
- Agile Shield: basically a relative of the round guard and round shield, but can be used while moving and in high speed.
-Evasive Guard: a relative of Protection and Defencer, though can be raised while moving and in high speed.
-Chant of the Gunner: a special song than allows her to be proficient with her device.

History:
Pre- Nanoha / A's
Born in the 26th administrated world, she was born as Kyla Kiramena, third daughter of the imperial priestess serving the emperor of that planet. As she was the third daughter, luckily tradition had stated that she no longer had to follow the footsteps of her mother and thus was allowed to choose her career, unlike her two older twin sisters- well both had liked the temple life and thus had decided to serve as priestesses. When she was four, she began to lean from her mother, the ancient magical arts, passed down from generation to generation- whether or not the child became a priestess or not. At age seven, she got her first glimpse of the Mid-childa system during an educational exchange between her school and one in that said system, where she lived and studied for an entire school year. Awed by the potential of magic during her exchange, she began to dig thru libraries and even her family's sacred archive, to learn other things about magic. And at age 9, she began to self-teach, what to her a new way of using magic, but was actually a higher and secret level of art in her family- Martial Magic. At ten, she was caught in her self-lesson sessions and instead of being reprimanded, she was praised for doing it. When asked what she wanted to be, she replied with only one line.
"I want to be a midchildan mage, and i'll be happy about it."
And with those words, she was once again sent to that system, but now she was going to live under the care of an uncle who was visiting them. Years pass and then, she entered the only non-military group that can train her to become a proper mage- the Time-Space Administration Bureau. During the day of admission, she had been assigned to room and group 14, along with two other newbies, Lindy Marksen, a midchildan citizen and a certain Momoko Kagurazaka, from a world she calls 'Terra'. And so began the training- in which batchmates had called Kyla the 'Martial Angel', the only one in the batch, who has no device- her teammate Lindy had a staff called 'Fairy Star' and Momoko had a nameless gold and red orbed device- which Kyla had affectionately called the 'Heart'. It was only at graduation when she got her first device, a pair of simple, power boosting bracelets- only holding her barrier jacket- called 'Elements'. Years pass by and team 14 eventually became the 'Gold Squad', with Lindy as the leader, with thier ship assignment the TSABS Starbreaker, under the command of Commodore Rhea Telostos. They began to gain popularity in the same way as the Aces of today (Nanoha, Fate and Hayate), successfully completing missions, no matter hard it was. Kyla then signed up for leave after the team was formally disbanded, with Momoko leaving for married life and Lindy going to command school, returning back to her planet for rest. It was there that she had met Mertholo or simply Mertho Scrya, a prominent archaeologist who was doing an excavation of her family home's garden after a new landscaping project had uncovered several artifacts. During her six months at home, she began to have a relationship with the young archaeologist, but he failed to secure a romantic one as she went back to tackle a request from her previous commander- Command School.
She finally met up with Lindy, who was now engaged and a pending ship captain. and in less time that Lindy took command school, she had managed to finish it with high marks, thus somehow ousting the next eligible ship captain candidate out of his spot. Kyla was given the Starbreaker and Lindy was assigned to be her vice- while assignments for the new bureau ship classes were being drawn up. it was also at this time when the young Scrya that she had met at home was also assigned during her first mission- paving the way for a romantic, off the scene relationship- which ended up in a double marriage for both commanding officers- and also leading to the "birth" of her son- but she hides a secret about that. Years later, with Lindy assigned to one of the newest ships of the bureau, she continued to ace up her missions, usually involving catching criminals and such- and on this note, the newly established bureau council had now asked her to lead a new unit- the First Exatactical Group or 1X as it was called by common agents. When the Starbreaker was finally retired, she assumed an office command post- hearing such stories such as the Jewel seeds and the Book of Darkness. And then, two years later, in one of the most dangerous missions ever undertaken, Kyla meets the Aces for the first time- the mission, stop a rampaging Lost Logia ship- the future TSABS Silvana.

well, you got it on spot- except that the barrels are covered by a jacket and that jacket rotates as well

Ho yeah. But at the way things are going, I don't think they have much hard feelings with Oji-chan. Fate's cheer for Kha was more out of jest than anything else, and is totally out of line my timeline due to the ages of everyone. But yeah, watch you step, as YnS's defence program can testify, if it can testify in that state of non-existence its in.

Indeed. As you can see, I do the same, especially if I find something out of the ordinary (like Vita being down one moment, then flying around the next). A bit like how the Astray manga got drawn I suppose.

Hmm Oji-chan can exist in Kha's space, especially since he has the habit of dropping by the tech dept after filing bi-monthly reports on the 46th at HQ. Shario and Yuuno know him, for example, but not on the level of good friends that you would tell your other circles about.

Sooo early on up to the A's Epilogue he would be on rather friendly terms with Oji-chan, though I see him calling him Aurion-sempai or just Sempai. A commonly discussed topic would be tech and devices in general, even with Chario around.

After meeting the girls(my friend's fic), he might get defensive if there's too much ribbing of them, especially Fate, for he sees himself as the Main Tank of the group (He is seen discussing team tactics using game terms in one of the short "DVD specials" I planned for Saint X's fic.). And any hint of trying to get close to Fate would result him being jealous and itching for Sakura, and sometimes the mischievous device would bark out loud to the encroaching party to back off for ["She's Father's Fate."] and turn both of them into tomatoes. Launcher Mode: The device's barrels close up and only a singular hole in the middle of the barrel assembly appears, enabling the gun to basically become a magic bazooka, shooting 'rockets' of homing energy, the damage rate may be affected a bit by AMF, but still can deliver a hurting shot when it hits. the greatest drawback though is each shot comsumes a cartridge per shot and the recoil can easily tire her.

Mode Skills:
-Powered Shot: a powerful focused shot of an energized missle.
-Cluster Bomb: an attack that fires a missle over an area and blows above the target, hitting the target in smaller damaging explosions. comsumes one cartridge per release.
-Hyperblast: a much more powerful version of the Powered Shot, taking more energy and enabling the attack to do splash damage. comsumes 3 cartridges, one for starting, one for charging and one for release.

Siege Mode: while in launcher mode, it can deploy a siege frame that encloses Vulcan in a mechanical shroud, enabling the gun/launcher to fire faster and much more powerful, but disabling the mage's movement (though she can aim in place) and ability to dodge, as the combined device and frame are too ungainly for movement.

Mode Skills:
-Compound Siege: a powerful, charged shot using the siege frame's booster to provide attack power and projectile speed.
-Cluster Blast: an attack similar to Cluster Bomb, but instead of blowing up above the target, the shot exits the barrel already clustered, spreads out towards the target/s and blows them up- a much more powerful version of the Shotgun Burst in a sense.
-Chain Rockets: a powerful shot of not just one, but three highly charged, extrememly enegetic rockets, boosted by the siege frame's booster and also by the magic power of Kyla. it consumes all seven cartridges of the clip- 1 for opening, 1 for charging, 2 for boosting and the last 3 for shooting the rockets themselves.

Normal Spells/Skills:
- Agile Shield: basically a relative of the round guard and round shield, but can be used while moving and in high speed.
-Evasive Guard: a relative of Protection and Defenser, though can be raised while moving and in high speed.
-Chant of the Gunner: a special song than allows her to be proficient with her device.

No problem. Velkanite's idea came from Sakuradite, except reinterpreted with the Nanohaverse in mind. As for Velk, it was an adaptation based on the original but somewhat erroneous version I wrote when it touched on that issue as well as what Amy described that world to be like during A's. To clarfy, both Velk and Velkanite are unofficial names, shorthand for calling the 46th and the high energy crystals. Officially, 46th has a serial number, which has a canon number so I won't take the risk and the high energy crystals should be using their chemical names so not taking risk there either.

Areas I can see to be explored in terms of character development is the "innocent forsaken" model like or the "shadowy do-gooder" model like Lelouch and Ryuuzaki Eru. Hmm Oji-chan can exist in Kha's space, especially since he has the habit of dropping by the tech dept after filing bi-monthly reports on the 46th at HQ. Shario and Yuuno know him, for example, but not on the level of good friends that you would tell your other circles about.

Sooo early on up to the A's Epilogue he would be on rather friendly terms with Oji-chan, though I see him calling him Aurion-sempai or just Sempai. A commonly discussed topic would be tech and devices in general, even with Chario around.

After meeting the girls(my friend's fic), he might get defensive if there's too much ribbing of them, especially Fate, for he sees himself as the Main Tank of the group (He is seen discussing team tactics using game terms in one of the short "DVD specials" I planned for Saint X's fic.). And any hint of trying to get close to Fate would result him being jealous and itching for Sakura, and sometimes the mischievous device would bark out loud to the encroaching party to back off for ["She's Father's Fate."] and turn both of them into tomatoes. - Aurion also happens to be an acquaintance of Former Admiral Gil Graham, having been assigned to one of the units (Specifically, Clyde Harlaown’s unit) under his command in his early Enforcer days before rising the ranks before that fateful incident with the Book of Darkness in where Clyde Harlaown met his end. This is also one of the driving forces in his interest in Hayate after the Book of Darkness incident. This also caused him to have high expectations for Chrono Harlaown.
- Reishiki never addresses Aurion directly. This is because of the limited configuration of his AI that leads to his disposition as a tool that only replies to commands. He replies to commands by saying, “Affirmative” before stating the attack name. Aurion can order Reishiki mentally to state the wrong attack name to confuse the opponent.
- Almaria addresses Aurion as ‘Aurion-san’ outside combat. During combat Aurion’s title changes to ‘Chief.’ Though she generally speaks in an emotionless voice, Aurion has programmed her to crack deadpan comments that embarrass other people nonetheless.
- During Aurion’s brief visits in Earth, he takes ideas for his devices from the several things he sees there. Earth is where he got the idea of a cellphone form for Almaria. (Cellphones are not used in Mid-Childa, as stated by Chrono in the A’s Sound Stage 2)
- His trigger phrase for more difficult spells is, “Attack!”
- It was already stated that his depression upon the loss of his arm was the reason he studied the intergalactic equivalent of psychology. Because of this, he was able to psyche himself up better than having other people do it for him. He reentered the TSAB to pursue his other interest of research of several matters involving devices and the different styles of magic. His psychological education didn’t go to waist though, for he now uses his expertise in the matters of the mind to his advantage in several situations. He’s particularly good in making depressed people feel even just a bit better during his ‘Counselor Mode.’ He had subjected the Aces to this treatment, finding that Nanoha seems to be the most emotionally stable of the three.
- He was a stiff and serious Enforcer in his youth. A clear antithesis of his now annoyingly cheerful and laid-back behavior nowadays.
- He has a habit of buying books from Earth and reading them in the research facilities as a way of relaxing.
- He frequently receives several invitations to take a more active part in the TSAB military due to his high expertise in tactical and team combat. He declines all of these invitations, stating that he gets more than enough excitement from also performing the role of the bodyguard of the technology personel.
- During mock battles, or even some real battles, he usually holds telepathic conversations with his opponent and tries to destroy their focus.

Fun Facts:
- He claims that he has zero talent at musical instruments.
- He has records of several shows from earth and he watches them by a projection from Reishiki.
- Arf is more vocal about her discomfort about him when compared to Zafira. Often growling while in her wolf form every time he talks with Fate in a familiar manner.
- He is also an acquaintance of Chrono, who has a habit of not listening to his jokes.
- He and Yuuno have met only a few times, when he takes a rare visit to the infinity library. He learned about Yuuno’s background when he was doing his ‘counseling’ with Nanoha where he asked her about her close friends. In these times, he is also one of the people always asking on how he’s getting along with Nanoha, getting the usual reply of, “We get along great! (As friends)” He gets exactly the same answer from Nanoha when asked the same question, making him marvel on how a mature girl such as Nanoha is clueless about the several innuendos about her and Yuuno by several people.
- Prior to his mock battle against the Aces he began setting up Fate and Chrono (despite their sibling status) for the fun of it, much to the annoyance of the latter (and the extreme embarrassment of both, especially Fate). This is also where he got the idea of how to easily defeat Fate by using an illusion of Chrono confessing his love for her. After the battle with the Aces, an irate Chrono challenged him to a match, to which he flatly refused, stating that he doesn’t feel like being frozen solid (all the while smirking as he walked away.). He did apologize to the siblings later, in any case. But the prank he played had a rather lasting effect on their other friends, leading to the incessant teasing at the siblings.
- So far, only Hayate has been known to be able to get proper vengeance on his antics (Most notably calling him Oji-chan). Aurion attributes this to her ‘Take-Charge’ personality. Unfortunately (to several people), he actually takes her counters at him in stride and actually incorporating this to his future exploitations. This is one of the main reasons of why Hayate is his favorite out of his three ‘nieces.’
- He gets along well with the parents of Nanoha and Fate. He and Nanoha’s parents seem to hit off really well, seeing as Nanoha’s parents have some peculiarities of their own. He also gets along well with Lindy Harlaown, actually accepting his Japanese green tea with sugar and cream from the Admiral in impressive aplomb. (Much to Hayate and Nanoha’s astonishment)
- The higher-ups in TSAB have several reservations about giving him promotions in the Tech Department due to his unorthodox and oftentimes reckless activities.
- Though the Wolkenritter are not in any way safe from his pranks, he takes special care in handling these instances in account for the two offense mages of the group, in case he might get the ‘Sword and Hammer’ treatment. He is able to exploit Signum’s relative unease with extremely informal situations and Vita’s natural irritability.
- To the wonder of many, he oftentimes holds discussions with other people’s devices with AI, even when in possession of their masters. What’s even more perplexing is the fact that devices are unusually responsive to him. Fate actually approached him one time and asked him how he got Bardiche Assault to actually speak with him using three sentences. Despite this fact, he himself doesn’t know why.
- Rein has a penchant of indignantly scolding him whenever he teases Hayate. He treats Rein like a toddler and often asks her if she would like some toys or other stuff for extremely young kids. This usually gets the Unison Device to explode in irritation and actually start beating on his head at times.
- He likes pairing people whom he thinks are compatible with each other. Other times, he just pulls pairings out of nowhere for the sake of his, as Vita puts it, ‘sick humor.’ One of the more notable out of nowhere pairings was the Signum and Chrono pairing, taking into account their seriousness. However, this idea was short lived due to trying to avoid being frozen solid and smashed into pieces.
