For someone with a highly twisted world view, it's really hard to take that first step, especially when all the goodwills he received are perceived to be merely self-centric to his eyes. He just doesn't like getting hurt, and hates to see everything he slowly build up being taken away like that. Yes you can say to him to "chin up and go for it", but really no one has tried to understand the frustration and jealousy he felt ever since he steps into this town. The token "good will" gestures means nothing if no one is willing to talk to him and get him to open up.
In some way this flashback is very similar to that ep12 back in P4A. Yes Adachi is immature, yes he lacks understanding of what bond really is. Thing is, there are plenty of people in real life who are just like him. I just love the touch of setting the 4 cups together on the table once again after the fight is over, symbolising that he still has a place in that family, and that Narukami didn't take it away from him.

I did and they were good, better yet they wete the only episodes that really matter so far to the overall story, I personally think that they should have retold the whole stoy while adding the Marie parts and since I really don't care about Marie (I haven't played P4G yet, no Vita yet but soon) u'm guessing all sge adds is a new boss fight or something which is cool and all for the game but really doesn't make sense to have an anime for it considering not too long ago we got a P4 anime, Heck this could have been a movie, a whole season wasn't realy needed in my opinion.

It's not good animation but it's not bad either. I mean I have seen far worse this season (Sengoku Basara Judge End and Dramatic Murder). I think it's good they just animated the Golden scenes rather than making a rehash of the previous tv series. The previous tv series had its pacing issues but it was entertaining so there is no need to retell everything.

I thought they would save the Ameno-sagiri fight to next week, oh well.
What an amusing preview, with Yu four-timing the girls on Christmas eve... Bet you wished that was an option Quote:
That's why they have been flying through old contents, and are under the assumption that people who are watching this already seen the previous Anime and/or played the game. |

The Adachi episodes were fantastic. The way it was done was great. The contrast that was drawn between Yu and Adachi and Yu's willingness to still trust Adachi when all was said and done were executed really well.

It could serve to setup Valentines Day though . I wasn't expecting the flashback to Adachi's life prior to Inaba, but it certainly helped reinforce who he was growing up and how that messed him up. Dedicating himself to his studies and avoiding contact with others or any attempt at a connection, and then when he finds himself within the police he ends up being overshadowed and shipped off to Inaba. Even after everything he'd done, the world had done nothing in his eyes to reward him for his work. And just when he's begun getting attached to the life and Dojima, in comes Yu who connects with people and becomes a part of the Dojima household faster than he did while believing in the things Adachi had always scoffed at. It in no way justifies what Adachi has done, he's still a pretty terrible person that thoroughly deserves the beating Yu gave him and to be locked up for his crimes, but at least it helps to understand why he thinks the "whole world is full of shit" and is so twisted a human being . Though now that I think about it, even with this flashback, we still don't know what got Adachi reassigned to Inaba do we? Marie reminding Yu of all the good his actions have done for her, after Adachi hurt his resolve, was a really nice scene. I wonder if her worrying about him, emphasizing him above the rest of the Investigation Team when it came to involvement in making new memories for her, and giving him the comb are meant to foreshadow future YuxMarie scenes in the anime? Yu vs. Adachi was my favorite fight from the original anime, so I was really looking forward to the remake, and overall I'd say it was pretty satisfying. Instead of just Izanagi vs. Magatsu Izanagi, we have Yu pulling on multiple Persona's of various Arcana's, which thematically really works, and then finishing it with Izanagi of course. The best part, and what made the fight in my opinion, was the two just going at each other and Yu pounding Adachi with his fists to finish the fight . I didn't expect them to actually deal with Ameno-sagiri, though considering how the last episode had Izanagi apparently one-shotting Kunino-sagiri, I wasn't shocked seeing Yu do the same with Magatsu . Definitely looking forward to the next episode .

Bit too stupid for me, with all the harem cliches (invite all the girls out, but don't mention its a group party... then all the guys can't make it). Some funny moments, especially Naoto's imagination. Odd how most of the girls were surprised more than happy, guess Yu hasn't bothered with their S.Links this playthrough in favor of Marie.
And they reverted to one of the first anime's openings for some reason? |

Plus I don't think we had an OP last week so it's been a couple weeks since we even had the usual OP for Golden . But I think it's probably the case that they did this to express that Marie is "gone" right now. Similar to how they gave the ED an unusual treatment making it rougher and not having the group appear at the very end like they usually do.
