BTW, what happened to the maid motorcycle girl? She briefly shows up in one episode, but has since not been heard of. It is really weird, since she is so prominent in the intro, and the latest episode already has a new (probably significant) character not shown in the intro.
Also, I was very surprised that a new intro and ending have not shown up yet. I wonder if it was a production delay?

I figured this would make an interesting discussion. Sorry if this doesn't go here . Which op and ending and ending do you guys think is the best both animation and song wise? Personally i like OP2 more i just like the overall tempoo more and the animation is done and flow much better here then in OP1 . Ending 2 is better for one simple reason....kuroyukihime being hot and her using her killer move on herself was hilarious . Song was cute too .

So, I catch up with this anime since it’s been mentioned a lot. I watched until 6th episode and......I was put off by the character design of the MC. It’s not because he’s a fat guy mind you, but how his character is drawn. You see, I don’t have a problem seeing a fat guy being in the spotlight. One proof of this being I like that obese character in Paprika who got the girl. Still, for this anime, I think the MC’s design is too exaggerated (extremely round and short) compared to other characters in this series. It’s like seeing Doraemon in the Haruhi anime (and I do like Doraemon). Thus, any kind of emotional feelings involving him does not translate well (if not at all) to me because he’s so “out of this world” in the context of this anime. This kind of drawing works as a side character (like in Gundam AGE for example), but using it on an MC is really off-putting for me. I don’t know if I can continue watching this.
Sorry, I know that this reaction is far too late in the game. I also apologize if my comments above somehow offends anyone. I really didn’t mean to . @OPN Sorry, I haven't seen OP2 & ED2 yet, but I do like ED1. The OP1 just hurt my ears unfortunately (it's a pretty random song).

That's understandable, I expected myself to have the same contention at first but was pleasantly surprised to find that Haru's design didn't feel out of place to me. Accel World's an awesome show, so hopefully you'll come to not mind the design so much.
The Accel World opening themes are both great, but I prefer the second. I really love the new opening theme, and it syncs up with the animation better than the first (ie the emotional swelling of the music whenever the camera zones in on Chiyu hugging Pig Haru, or the song speeding up and becoming more of an adrenaline rush when Taku and Noumi are fighting). As for the endings, I prefer the music of the first but the animation and concept of the second. The first ending song was really cool, and worked much better with the whole 'closing seconds of the episode play the first few notes of the ending' thing. The second's a pretty good song, but its main strength to me is how amusing and original it is; and jealous girls are hot, so it's nice to see an ending that focuses on KYH being as such. Definitely one of the most memorable anime ending songs I've seen. |

Do you guys think Accel World has too much drama? A fellow anime watcher told me he dropped it with episode 18 because he couldn't take the drama and nonsense (I guess he means the flaws he sees). That opinion was followed by telling me how Sword Art Online is much better (despite also having annoying flaws according to him).

So I decided to check out Sword Art Online. I'm going to watch it on Crunchyroll (haven't watched an episode yet). Then I learn about Accel World. This could be a good series, too.
How do you guys compare it to SAO? Do you guys like this series more, or SAO?

SAO and Accel World are two different stories written by the same author. In that regards, there are similarities between them. However, SAO seems more like a serious type of show, whereas this seems like more of a battle action show. Both have their positives and negatives. SAO seems to have a deeper story at the moment, but I think that both are equally entertaining for different purposes. IMO, both are good series, and I do not have a preference of one over the other.
