why are you all assuming misaka will even fight mugino? her priority is to blow up the facility and run away, not to face another level 5 esper...

i say she'll use frenda's bombs to blow up the facility and runs away, while mugino will get angry for no being able to finish her off

well its a shounen manga. Its all about fight. So its easy to think that way specially with mugino realizing she's tokiwadai's railgun.

Actually, Mugino just said in that chapter that if she waited in the 'target area', Mikoto would have to come eventually. I was just going with the assumption that Mugino could defend said 'target area' well enough that Mikoto would have to try to deal with her somehow.

Could someone explain to me how Offense Armor (Level 4) works? I know it's all about Nitrogen, but say, how can it withstand a bullet and stuff?

let's just say its a downsize ability of Accel. Saia is one of the by products of academy city when they are trying to duplicate Accel's ability but they fail.

Just imagine it like Accel's firewall ability but with lesser uses.

just took where I left off, chapter 29. nice mugino. either Mikoto will using frenda's to blow up the facility OR mugino I'll enjoy it. this manga is sure > than its anime counterparts.

I just recently realized that the emotions program that was terminated really wasn't terminated, but was just intercepted by Last Order. She received the emotions, which is why she's the only Misaka clone to have human-like expressions.

It's amazing how much attention to detail the author pays to in this series.

I also like Misaka's current outfit a lot more than her Tokiwadai uniform :3

I wouldn't say the author pays a lot of attention to details, but Kazuma definitely makes effort to make things connect...
As opposed to most fighting shounen trends, it seems the story actually gets better.

I have been wondering. If manga finish the sister atc, where will it head after that? It will be another original railgun arc , or it will end there?

Next ch, it seems this ITEM arc will reach the climax. Mikoto has the plot shield and she'll win anyway so the more interesting thing is "how?" (However, ITEM also has plot shield as well)

From what Mugino said, Saiai may come to join the fight or come to rescue Mugino when she lose. If her [Offensive Armor] can guard Mikoto Railgun attack, it will be interesting. More role on Frenda and Rikou will be cool as well.

There's plenty of material to work with. There's Misaka's fake date to get away from "Unabara", Kuroko's arc in vol 8, the Daihasei, Misaka's date with Touma in vol 12, the phone call and eventual confrontation with Touma about his memory loss, and hijacking a jet to find Touma in vol 20.

There's also everything inbetween, and with the pace Railgun moves at compared to Index, it'll be years before the manga catches up to the novel, if it catches up at all.

Does the novels reveal what Saiai's ability is capable of? She did defect a bullet from a handgun with no visable effort. Railgun is only twice a handguns speed.

Hey, her power pales in comparison. Plus, she doesn't have all the nitrogen in the world to fight all out with Mikoto. The gap between their powers is so thick.

She once deflected a bullet from an electromagnetic sniper rifle. Don't know how the speed of that compares to a handgun, though.

The railgun is supossed to be a projectile not a beam, so I think Saiai still have chances to block the attack but if Mikoto uses lighthing is obvious who is going to win.

Spoiler for future: frenda.... it s kinda funny to see she got her bit part role, while knowing too in the future she will "left" the bottom part of her body somewhere XD. a bit brutal end for her. and saiai is way too... different(?) in the manga, she s more likeable in the novel. in the manga she s a b*tch I am half hoping it's her who d leave the bottom part of her body instead

We get to see a great arc from an even earlier point of view showing us more background on a heinous experiment We get to see two level 5's fight it out, as well as ITEM showing their stuff. What other reasons do we need. Plus, I for one like to watch something to see how it happens, and not just what happens.
