Demashitaa! Powerpuff Girls Z
Meh. I couldn't locate the other thread. Wondering if it got lost in the tides of time. (And Yes I did check using Search.)
Anywho, Aniplex announced some more details in regards to the PowerPuff Girls Z anime. First off, they showed a new, which was much shorter then the last pilot. The designs have been tweaked, and they no longer seem to have weapons anymore. Also, the plot seems it's possible it's been changed quite a bit from last time. They also announced that they will be airing the series possibly on TV-Tokyo in Japan on July 2006. Currently, there is no plans for this series to Air in North America. Also, some new screenshots for people who want to see: (Putting it in spoiler box) Spoiler:

I'm surprised the gang green gang stayed basically the same! They were bound to change arturo though... there's no way to translate that into japanese .
And you say there are no plans to air it in america? Maybe cartoon network is waiting to see the finished product before comitting to anything, but assuming they have the rights to air it, that's just like printing money for them as far as I'm concerned...

Cartoon Network has some hand in this, their name (written in katakana, カートゥーン・ネットワーク) shows up in the series info for this over on moonphase.cc as the channel airing PPGZ.

Demashitaa! PowerPuff Girls Z
And thus, begins the talkback to one of the most wondered about Anime project. What I'm more interested is why Cartoonetwork of America has danced around the existance of this project. Soemthing tells me they're going to wait and see how this does in Japan before making a final decision. Or maybe leave it in Japan. (PPG is alot more popular in Japan than it is here. Go figure.)
But in the meantime, now that atleast the promo's been subbed, I guess this makes sense to be a discussion. EDIT: I just realized Animesuki linked to this thread... Eh, whoever moderates, can decide. =P Last edited by NoSanninWa; 2006-06-12 at 04:05. I wonder how many seasons this will last in Japan, or if they plan to make a serious series out of this American creation. Things like a Powerpuff Girl dying, Mojo-Jojo as evil as Johan ... stuff like that ... but that's a very long shot ... maybe it's going to be another Onegai My Melody ...

Here's a crazy insane theory that's totally wrong:
Toei decided to pull out all the martial arts specialists from Pretty Cure for its third season so that they could be free to work on PPGZ! So we'll get to see some serious butt-kicking, and this time with actual fists instead of just stumps. Let's just put it this way: If blossom, bubbles and buttercup have to finish off giant monsters with some kind of combined magical attack instead of punching them in the face, I will be very sad.

I hope they remake that one . Don't make her angry, or she'll summon an army of rabid squirrels to come and get you.

It has come
The first episode of PowerPuff Girls Z has aired in Japan.
Look at those screenies from futaba, and it looks like that all the bad guys from the American cartoon were imported to the anime but redesigned. Last edited by Guido; 2006-07-01 at 20:54. |
