I watched the ep subbed in my language today, and it got quite better than I previously thought. Huit's friend is a newspapaer editor, and huit is his boss. Mirim's mom and sisters are actually mentioned in the episode, so she is not that out of character. And there's even an explanation why Branwen is fighting in the capital. The part with Luna Luna says something about a prophecy, but nothing more than that. I hope the story unfolds better from now on.

Just watched the first episode and... Well, for the moment it's clearly quite a mess, as some of you already noticed there are too many new characters introduced in such a short episode... And the ending theme is pure bullshit, how can this thing sucks so much compared to the precedent ones ?! Also, can't get used to the new cast, it's so weird, even for QB...
But good point: the "new" Elina saved the show for me, totally love her ! |

His works tend to be hammered by everyone - they're strange, clunky, trashy, porn-like (in terms of construction and poor attention to storytelling), often incomprehensible and irreverent toward source material. Most viewers have nothing good to say, and I'm inclined to believe that his works are intentionally dodgy. Indeed, the one sequence of QB:R that I've seen has very amateurish, comically poor cinematography. Nevertheless, there are those who find things to enjoy amidst the craziness. Clunkiness aside, there's a surreal/ephemeral quality to his OVAs through his strange pacing/jumping flow of time (some cannot be understood without familiarity with the original work since story concepts and characters are briefly presented with no context), and his use of audio can be simultaneously pleasing and awkward. It's lower echelon work for sure, but sometimes that can be a curiosity. |

As long as the animation team keeps the character personalities in tact from the Hobby Japan stories and stick to the general story, I'll be satisfied (though I wouldn't mind a few changes to the execution of Branwen and Aldra). I wasn't going into the series with high expectations anyway.
Though, it's a shame this story arc doesn't have much in the way of yuri undertones; I'll miss those. |

Some though have been "replaced", Melpha to Shiggy, Nanael with Lyra and so on. Possible they'll have a comeback in the anime. More girls the better. .
