Hmmm, pretty interesting...

Again, the colors are simply amazing here. I like how the anime is able to capture such macabre visuals in a brilliant and colorful manner, rendering them into something more than just gruesome details on screen. I especially like that conversation about people needing ignorance in order to cope in life.

However, this episode really feels longer than the previous one for some reason. (Well, at least for me anyway.) It must be due to the director change or the fact that it's a different kind of story altogether.

I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be her masculine side, but in the end it's still the masculine side of a girl.

Something I learnt from Zetsubou Sensei: if there's an overwhelming amount of evidence proving something, that something can't be true.

Wonderful to see Movie 2 maintain the quality set by the first one. The whole thing carried such a fabulous atmosphere that really sucked me in, plus lovely animation to boot.

So far its doing a fantastic job of erasing any bitter memories of past TypeMoon anime adaptations.

Indeed, I enjoyed it a lot Though directed by a different director, it seems just as well done as the previous. I'm looking forward to the next one

Glad to see them stick more closely to the source material. But then again, that means all the unnecessary Type Moon swagger is there too. Oh well.

The second movie was amazing. I can't wait for the second part. (I have the novels in Chinese, but I'm not reading them until after the movies are out so I don't spoil myself.)
Spoiler for 2nd chapter novel:

He did say he loved her, said he was "already crazy" referring to how his friend said he was crazy about her.

It's great that they kept both of his scenes in.

I thought they would of taken his scene with Mikiya out.

Sorry son, SHIKI's straight up guy. In the novel, Shiki was commenting how her body was really unmistakably a girl's now, and it was making SHIKI kinda unhappy.

Course, I'm using the Taiwanese translation, and whenever they refer to SHIKI, they use the male character for "he".

"...unmistakably a girl's now"? You mean it was a girl before? What kind of a split personality is that? Or wait, is this spoiler territory?

I assumed it was a merely a difference between split personalities (i.e., the other being masculine and more assertive), hence the typically masculine Japanese speech that SHIKI uses.

It shouldn't be a spoiler. This scene's right after the swordfight, when Shiki's undressing. It means that when she was young, people wouldn't be sure if she was a guy or a girl. But now...

Split personalities can have totally different genders, ages, backgrounds etc. In this case it's like a split personality, but not quite.
