So I started watching full metal panic (up to 8) and it's not that great, there's like annoying fan-service, I was bored by the mecha, but I heard fumofu and the second raid is a lot better since it done by that studio.

So is it worth watching full metal panic (gets better?) or should I just give up and watch fumoffu and whatnot (cause I read somewhere you can skip and it's fine.)

You are only watching the visible tip of the iceberg. Carry on, as FMP take off seriously around mid season. (annoying fan service? humm... there are like only 2-3 at the start and it is completely absent for the rest of the series)
It wouldn't make much sense to follow fumoffu and The Second Raid without watching completely the first season.

That said, TSR is sure way better than season 1, but fumoffu has nothing "similar" in other seasons, because the focus is hardly the same.

i thought it got a lot better.. it definetly gets more serious as well..

i know a lot of people said fmp season 1 was really good, but i tend to disagree.. tsr is a different class compared to the first season.. if u can bear the first season tsr will be a treat after fumoffu

fumoffu is the funniest anime ever period.

I haven't seen the other two though I'm familiar with the story.

If you didn't like the first 8 episodes of FMP than I don't know if you will like Fumoffu... the first 8 episodes of FMP contains a lot of humorous scenes. That sort of stuff later on got specialized into side stories novels (which Fumoffu is based on) while the main novels kept a focus on the main story (which is what TSR is based on)

I can't really remember what mecha action took place in the first 8 episodes but TSR contains some great mecha and non mecha fight scenes.

I will say finish FMP, because you might not find Fumoffu funny.
