And that is why I rated this episode so poorly. The manga covers the girls studying for exams and taking them seriously. The anime . . . cuts all this out, reducing it to the girls effectively pressing the "EASY" button and winning.
While the manga can get out with 4-5 chapters of people studying because of its 4koma format that doesn-t make it feel dragged out, in the anime it's a little more difficult to do that for more than 1 episode actually. Specially when you consider the direction the anime is taking, it is not really one of the focal points the anime directors are interested in.

Yeh same here! The only thing that usually saved me is my quick but short memory. I could study day-2 days before exam and pass it. Then next day forget everything I knew

Though there were times when that didn't work, still no lesson learned. I guess I'm to dense or dumb

They didn't even spend an episode on it. We get about two minutes of studying, two minutes of wacky hijinks, two minutes of touching nakama moments and then they press the "WIN" button. The rest of the episode is an Azu/Ui/Jun episode. The Azu/Ui/Jun A plot was very good. The HTT B plot was so skeletal that we have well-meaning people in this thread asking "WTF? How could they be so care-free about their exams? "

The series directors went with this whole overarching theme of growing up, the ephemeral nature of childhood, and of bonding. In that light, skipping over the whole studying for entrance exams arc is, frankly, puzzling.

They seriously could've done this as another junior/senior double-header like the Field Trip/Staying Behind pair. A girls-studying-centric episode followed by this episode would've fit very well into the whole deeper theme thing they've been going with this season. Only the giant timeskip (and boy, did they skip over a bunch of time between episodes 21 and 22) suggests that the sponsors may have said "This is a moe show! Stop trying to get all deep and fine-artsy with it! Why we had otaku killing themselves in the streets due to Episode 20. Dead otaku don't buy merchandise! The fans want light, cute, and dumb! Stop trying to make them think!"

I gotta say, out of all my friend's I'm the least stressed out one xD
Dude, just relax lol. I personally feel that if I go crazy about an exam I forget everything last minute... I actually spend the day before writing an exam not doing anything. Kinda refreshing to watch Yui and Ritsu so chill about it too (Ritsu's only worry is where her admission card went xD)

They sat for an exam and got back their postings in a wink? I don't know what goes on in the Japanese education system, but when I take me GCE A Levels in November, I get my results in March next year. And if I can get away with being a Yui/Ritsu, well, that's the good life.

Anyway, an expected, albeit (highly) unlikely ending. Azusa's "abandonment issues" are always amusing and heartwarming though.

A girls-studying-centric episode
Maybe I'm the one with not a big enough imagination, but unless you want a Seitokai no Ichizon like episode I don't see this going well. I mean, if you check those manga chapters it does seem as if Kaklify god a writer block during that segment except for some select parts. It doesn't feel that bad because of the 1 month period between releases, but reading all them in a block makes you see that maybe it's for the best that Kaklify gets to put this series down for a while.

Yeh it sure takes long in UK, but in my country the exam results are knows faster. You take exams somewhere in the end of May or begining of June and receive the results in the end of July or the starts of Augus. Some are known already in the end of June.

Reading your comments, I feel terrible for taking all of my exams lightly(especially the high school graduation exam). In fact, I simply blasted through most of them with not so much efforts spending...

No group study, no last-minute cramming for high school or uni exams. Sometime i wish that i was born in Japan where it's so hard to get into good school, just to have that joy of getting passed....

Anyway, back to the episode. By running through 21 and 22, i started to wonder if something in me will die off when K-on end

What makes it easy in UK is that you can re-sit them as much as you want in comparison to my country.

And I never understood group studying... for me it is less productive, I can't concentrate...

It helps when you have a very focalized agenda (eg certain persons don't understand some subjects which other people do, and you go through those subjects in order). Otherwise yeah, it doesn't help much.

Two subjects for that day. All the subjects are probably spread out over several days.

I personally got 79% on my Math 12 provincial last year by using an ABCD probability wheel to pick about 3/4 of my answers.

Don't you love probability?

Considering your expected returns is just 1/4, you might simply end up with 10% if you get unlucky; time to study dude

Quite funny you should mention that, this was blindly done on a challenge (because my friend and I really disliked our math teacher and we were given early notice from a mutual friend that almost nothing he taught us was on the test), and we decided to both use our probability calculator programs.

I got 79%, and he got 74%. We were both surprised, and we probably did better than if we studied what our teacher gave us. Don't you just love teachers who don't follow standard curriculum lessons at all?

Thumbs up Guess I am very late on this one.

This episode was good not only for showing Azusa's worries but also Yu,Mio, Ritsu and Mugi to have finally graduated by passing all their exams in high school as well as awaiting only to graduate. Also they passed the third and second choices of their colleges up to the first choice where it implies they will be attending Mugi's all girls College all together. This opinion by part of the episode will be separated in 2 parts since I watched it back to back both RAW and subbed since I like it so much.

First RAW impressions....starting with Azusa saying too loudly that she will giving her chocolates to Jun and Ui. Well too late for that because all the class mostly heard it and was it ever funny how she said something like "Shit!" What have I done. Here=>
http://i620.photobucket.com/albums/t...4/e893b3fe.jpg
Not only was Yui cute for me in this part with the way her face was with her hair but she was so stressed out to forget some words of the study material she studied that she forgot some and it was 6:45am of all things......we never had anything like that for College entrance exams as early as that. My brothers in Marseilles had it like at 10am....anyways it is this part=>
http://i620.photobucket.com/albums/t...4/96086b7c.jpg
ROFL! Ritsu's face when she forgot her ID but in fact it was on the ground=>
http://i620.photobucket.com/albums/t...4/93a0011d.jpg
Very well done Shrine with Ui in the background! Liked it a lot that she prayed for her sister to pass her exams=>
http://i620.photobucket.com/albums/t...4/158b18db.jpg
Those chocolate bars Ui got are huge! I was surprised at their size here=>
http://i620.photobucket.com/albums/t...4/3d1cdb48.jpg
Still wondering who made the snowmen.....Yui/Ui or Ui/Azusa/Jun here=>
http://i620.photobucket.com/albums/t...4/c61f8973.jpg
When they showed the Shrine at a different angle with Ui/Azusa this time praying I noticed the statue rather well done among the details I did not see the first time they showed the Shrine=>
http://i620.photobucket.com/albums/t...4/bbce051f.jpg
This scene was rather interesting to see with Azusa/Jun talking about how Azusa is going to give her chocolates=>
http://i620.photobucket.com/albums/t...4/c2f307df.jpg
Among the situations the one where the gang though it could be a bomb was just I would never have though they would think that but it was funny as ever here=>
http://i620.photobucket.com/albums/t...4/5bb87b53.jpg
Rather big chocolates Mio is getting here...most likely her fan club...these girls look familiar from it=>
http://i620.photobucket.com/albums/t...4/af3f4fe8.jpg
Oh great! The girl with curly hair that I think her name was Hime something appears. Kind of like her voice and personality for a side character here=>
http://i620.photobucket.com/albums/t...4/94a234e0.jpg
Kind of knew that Azusa was fusing the problem of her senpais graduating here since she looked gloomy and down not being able to even give out her chocolates at the time she was supposed to=>
http://i620.photobucket.com/albums/t...4/0ec26a32.jpg
Ouch! Poor Yui! She got on the forefront with the door opening=>
http://i620.photobucket.com/albums/t...4/7a0cb780.jpg
The chocolate cake that Azusa made does look delicious! It looks to have 2 different chocolates! Here=>
http://i620.photobucket.com/albums/t...4/cf5593fc.jpg
ROFL! Yui gets her skirt caught in the chair when she tries to eagerly join everyone at the window looking here=>
http://i620.photobucket.com/albums/t...4/c53ad692.jpg
The window view outside does look nice and was done well! The snow falling here was the best of it all=>
http://i620.photobucket.com/albums/t...4/453aa751.jpg
What happy group they were here I really liked the happiness of the gang here=>
http://i620.photobucket.com/albums/t...4/141e8cf1.jpg
Holy crap! Azusa spent around 10$ for praying in one shot! That is praying devotion right there=>
http://i620.photobucket.com/albums/t...4/88f46863.jpg
Mio's face here is priceless right before they were going to see the results of their exams=>
http://i620.photobucket.com/albums/t...4/488a70de.jpg
So in the end the cell phone message confirmed they all passed! All the best to them! I am talking about this part=>
http://i620.photobucket.com/albums/t...4/2b73330b.jpg
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Episode with subs....
well the part with pen that Ritsu was showing off I laughed when I finally understood it was a similar thing I saw in Baka Test to Shuunkanjuu here=>
http://i620.photobucket.com/albums/t...4/4b3cf7d2.jpg
It was just too bad that Mugi blurted out the multiple choices had 9 possibilities......oh well time to get V009=>
http://i620.photobucket.com/albums/t...4/02979eee.jpg
Well in this part with Mio it has already been proven that classical music does tend to make you focus better in the math field read it somewhere=>
http://i620.photobucket.com/albums/t...4/3d362575.jpg
I did not notice the first time around but Jun and Azusa each took a different slipper on their feet and I burst out it was a good laugh=>
http://i620.photobucket.com/albums/t...4/a535b47d.jpg
This confirms it! They passed all they had to do and now can relax around=>
http://i620.photobucket.com/albums/t...4/b6ab45b9.jpg
When Azusa was gloomy what I assumed came out as true as the subs state out here=>
http://i620.photobucket.com/albums/t...4/cb4f019b.jpg
There you go! Azusa says that candy Yui offers is cheap but I think it's the gesture that counts more than anything=>
http://i620.photobucket.com/albums/t...4/db781f23.jpg
Pretty much those are all my thoughts. Now it's GIF time! These are ones I though of doing.......Freebie avatars starting with one of Yui=>

Original=>
http://i620.photobucket.com/albums/t...4/40686766.gif
One of Jun=>

Original=>
http://i620.photobucket.com/albums/t...4/a1e582f3.gif
2 of Azusa=>

Originals=>
http://i620.photobucket.com/albums/t...4/d26abadb.gif
http://i620.photobucket.com/albums/t...4/4e8547f0.gif
One of the gang misunderstanding Azusa declaring her love for them in the possible situation going bad when Azusa would offer her chocolate to them=>
http://i620.photobucket.com/albums/t...4/f29b5b99.gif
Once again congratulations to Mio, Yui, Tsumugi and Ritsu for passing and being successful! Cheers to you all!

LOL agreed.

I wonder if there's a 9-sided die for examinations? lol XD

But really...studying is better. Makes you feel not so nervous XD
