On the otherhand the OVA (and three years since the series aired) allowed them to sex it up a bit more than usual. Fanservice was on as high as possible. But it was still fun to see them all again.

ef - a tale of melodies: Spoiler for ef - a tale of melodies.:
That's 275/2570 done so far plus a bunch done by other people earlier. For anyone else who wants to try translating character names but can't read Kanji, try looking up the series on Wikipedia. If you can read Hiragana and Katakana, the Japanese Wikipedia tends to be even better. This probably won't work for less popular anime, though.

::edit::I'll be doing more later today. It's 12 in the morn, I need my rest. ::edit::
I'll be translating some more and archiving the translations so far. Just posting to warn against double translations. This is in the order on the finalized character page at the JP Saimoe Wiki. Spoiler for long!:

Updated http://synchroom.wikispaces.com/SaiMoe2009 with links to, and dates for, each of the eighteen preliminary groups. I copied the raw list of 2,570, too, in the hopes that someone else currently reading this thread has editing access over there and can help out with the names we haven't seen.
If worse comes to worst, I'll go back through this thread and enter the translated names one by one, checking back every so often for any updates. I'm not sure how far that effort will get in 24 hours, though. |

.. I can't be bothered to look through all of the prelim groups, lol. Shouldn't really matter, anyway; I doubt anyone important will be left out.
Here's some more translations, continuing where Komari left off (don't think there's any duplicates, but sorry if there are): Spoiler for length:

A list of characters and their groups for the first prelims, sorted by series in あ、か、さ、た、etc. order. Should make it a little easier to find the group number for a particular character. |

Well to anyone who wants to translate, if posible try to do in thsi format:
Japanase_name | English_name For both chars and series, this way I can easily add it to CCY program dictionary that can be used to translate groups and the like. Edit: Someone is already translating the first group of preliminaries. I will post here when she's done.
