Great episode! Not much comedy but I am fine with it, because I know the core issue such as Emilia's hatred has to be dealt with sooner or later.

Now that Lucifer has made his grand appearance, let the fight begins! (hopefully)

While I can be wrong, I'm pretty sure it was her, since kid Emi sounds a lot like Hikasa's Miu in Hagure Yuusha. And THAT is one of the reasons why I rate Hikasa so highly (and on OT note, is part of the reason why I want new VAs in the Sailor Moon reboot so badly ). While she's usually typcasted into tsundere types like in this series, its not the only role she can do by far. XD

Chi-chan shows up at ED credit. It's indication she will be someone interesting, even it's not in the romantic way.

You mean Hakasa Yuko? The general concern I read about her she has so many roles as a strong minded girl 勝ち気な女の子. It's as she's locked into this role. I don't find it's true. Even it's true, I think she's doing fine.

It's right after Maou asks Alsiel to go get bandages, and right before the scene where it shows Alsiel riding Dullahan. What did the original Japanese say?

This anime is keeper for sure. As much as I understand Emi's hatred for Maou and feel a lot of sympathy, I'm still not too fond of her type.

It doesn't really seem ambitious but it just executes everything well from presentation to timing and juggles action and comedy transition scenes very fluently. I only hope Chiho becomes more than just a side character in the later episodes. By the look of it, she definitely has bigger role to play in this by the fact that very person Maou and Arsiel met was Chiho's dad when they crashed into earth.

It was just the fansubbers being funny. He only said "May I borrow the Dullahan?" (Ashiya is not the type of character to make jokes like that.)

Apparently it's intentional. I can't find the interview in question right now, but the author said that's the image he has of her. (He also said that Ashiya is the only one who has a real-life model.)

So the landlady is also an important character who knows about true identities of Sadao and Emi. Could it be that other rooms in her residents are fill with refugees come from different dimensions?

The expected romances have a huge amount of potential for both excellent drama and comedy, for such a ridiculous premise, its been fantastic.

The banter between Maou and Emi have been entertaining when funny and engaging when serious they really do have chemistry.

so after seeing maou saving the people it make emi why he is saving them cue flashback of her child years as a farmer's daughter normal life til priest come take as chosen one to defeat the demons.

& afterward showing her farm land got burned cue forward wonder why compare maou from being demon ruler to nice guy in japan while wonder even hanging around her call pals friend give she had prob with quake in kobe.

yet emi wonder about everything from before to now & news going of mugging with maou & sidekick heard about from cops (give maou found chiho got daddy cops which twist reveal got chiho to hear voices since maou did magic on her dad).

emi visit maou some blah & fell then some talk give wonder calling out why are you nice guy in japan while back in esta isla you burn everything include my farm's daddy.

then awkward chiho appear then run cue landlady appear mention of something yet mention "sonar" & "etc" while emi's comrade coming to japan & chiho wonder cue guy mention "things" cue rumble.

& this person got black wings with reveal one of maou's generals aka lucifer.

I enjoy Emi's flashback and her emotion conflict...

so, the true enemy is Maou's soldier rebellion... With Lucifer and Yusa's comrades in the city, things are going to be interesting

I think his friend also seems to count, the one he knocked down. Well it seems like he knew Lucifer.

The only scene with Lucifer was a three-second battle with Emi that ends with blood and feathers everywhere.

The other guy was a random passerby. He was trying to move Lucifer out of the way, which gave Lucifer a chance for a dramatic wing reveal.

Well, it is pretty unbelievable.
Flashback to Emilia's past was interesting to watch.
Maou sure is a smart one, even though the sometimes seems like an airhead.
Guess he and Emilia will have to get to the bottom of this together.
Wtf?! The landlady know everything?! She was a weird one from the start.
So, more of them are coming to Japan... things are gonna get interesting.

anyway, that was a nice interview, based on what I can understand from the broken english google translate gave me, the author did an insane amount of research into the little things in the series, he even went so far as to ask for the real world prices of the real estate featured lol. I already saw a video posted here before comparing the real life places with those shown in the anime, including the 100 yen shop where emilia bought her "sacred sword" to fight maou with, but I didn't know he went even further than that.

because of that, I'm going to consider dullahan as one of the important main characters now.

as for emilia's hair, much like maou, her hair turned from white to a normal(?) red to show that she also transformed into a more "pathetic" form, it might come back when she regains more of her powers, super saiyan style lol. I wonder how they'll depict the two humans who are about to go out of the gate.
