mystery solved... whoever did the cut seems to be a master level person... fits the song perfectly lol. (in case you didn't notice, the song in that clip is the opening theme for Ever 17 ^^)
also... as i am digging resources from a chinese fan forum, i'll post what I *think* caused kaburaki's memory soon after... validating a theory first
edit: never mind... i'll quote what's being posted.
Spoiler:
basically this guy (on the chinese forum) was saying is: (based on the assumption that for a brief moment, BW overlapped/possesed Kaburaki in 2017 and caused his memory lost)
the person who jumps into the pool is not Hokuto but Kaburaki! in takeshi's pov, Kaburaki should have his memory when takeshi asks for whether he saw takeshi's friends, and the being in the lemur cosplay suit (even though i remember kaburaki didn't recognize who takeshi was when takeshi confronts him). After kaburaki being carried to the infirmary, BW is doint the perspective swap and "accidentally" possesed Kaburaki, who passed out from the heat of the lemur suit. BW knows that "the kid his no memory", thus causing kaburaki to lose his memory when he gets on kaburaki. and then kaburaki (along with bw), went berserk jumped into the pool (and got saved from You'haru). then BW takes off, let player choose perspective.

A music video using Ever17's opening song as the music and FMV scenes (or it may be the opening video, I haven't played it yet) from Falcom's Legend of Heroes, Sora no Kiseki : First Chapter.
i desperately need opinion with the mind-mess of the kaburaki scene >.> i can't stop thinking about the sht until i figure it out or some 4d entity should just brainwash me!
edit: another seemingly unrelated item in the timeline. In 2019, after TB runs rampant in the world, April 1, "a group of students from a certain university begin a special training seminar on an isolated island" and on April 7, the seminar ends.... sounds like the first installment?
You've guessed it, notice the April 7?
Spoiler for if you want to be spoiled a little about never7:
Never 7 stands for that you never reach the 7th of April (If you do, you've beaten the game! )
You are in an infinity loop of 1st - 6th of April and can not escape, what do you do?
And no, I'm not going to say anything more on this topic, somebody else do it
as i was reading a fan fiction that tells from Tsugumi's perspective...
Spoiler for Tsugumi's past??:
I suddenly remember the "Tom" who appeared in the ending clip, the Tom who was in the same hospital as Tsugumi when she was young.... the Tom can actually be the boy on that CG? the Tom who taught Tsugumi the song which was passed on to Coco and Sara??????
Hmmm sorry, I got a bit carried out, lol. Gonna fix those right away!
Also, I've been reading all sorts of discussion on KID Fans Channel (KFC), too bad there isn't one in English of that size. I've been writing some kind of compilation of all the mysteries and commentary in game... here's one of my excerpt on explaining the life reading:
Spoiler for Life Reading spoiler:
Life Reading
Hopefully you tried to make some sense out of it. I tried, but I didn't reach a satisfying conclusion on my own. Here let's revew the common facts in both 2017 and 2034:
1. Shounen (both Kaburaki and Hokuto) sees the abnormality of the life reading in both perspectives.
2. The life reading, in both perspectives, oscillates between 5 and 7.
3. The reading then stops at 6, in the first 4 scenarios.
4. The position tracker shows no sign of irregularity.
Let's see who are the people in both timelines:
2017: You'haru, Takeshi, Ryogo, Coco, Tsugumi, (Sora), (Pipi), (Chami)
2034: You'aki, Ryogo, Hokuto, Sara, Tsugumi, (Chami?)
(it is unsure whether Tsugumi brought Chami with her in 2034)
Also in 2017, Yoichi, You'haru's father is down in either IBF or HIMMEL. I think if a person is in HIMMEL, he or she should be detected by LeMMIH's bio scan, since HIMMEL is technically a part of LeMU (Sora's mainframe/memory is there). But 12 hours is needed to undergo decompression if one is to go from IBF to decompressed LeMU, Yoichi should not be in HIMMEL by that time. Also, Sora would more likely to notice that from the position tracker that a person is down in HIMMEL (thus telling others). Therefore, it is unlikely Yoichi has anything to do with this in 2017.
What about Pipi and Chami? Pipi is a robotic dog, therefore it is very unlikely to be counted as a heat source. Chami on the other hand, may cause some trouble. Chami is always with Tsugumi until she's injured in the warehouse, and the bio scan is most likely to register Chami and Tsugumi as one heat source--that is if Chami stays in Tsugumi's chest. It is possible that Tsugumi lets the hamster run free for a while, but the position tracker doesn't say so. There is a possibility of Chami being small, LeMU forbids visitors to bring pets (I guess robotic ones are excluded from this rule), it is possible the life scan gets confused with the weak signal of Chami. BUT, since even without Chami in picture, and assumed Sora is being counted, the counter cannot go down to five. It is safe to say this possibility is eliminated.
An important concept with the bio scan is... Whether the position tracker and the life reading are dependent of each other. In a most logical sense, they should be. Therefore it is utterly unreasonable to see difference between the outcomes from either part of the system.
Blick Winkel itself cannot be detected by the heat sensor. The reason for that is because BW is not a 3D entity, and it does not have body heat. Heck, BW doesn't even realize its existence before Coco's path, he thought he was Takeshi or Shounen in 2017. Suppose BW is being detected by the counter, it is impossible to not show up on the position tracker. It did something, however, to cause the oscillation of numbers (explained later)
Now let's talk about Sora. Sora is not a heat source, but, it is possible for her to be one of the flashing dot and part of the reading. In the first four scenarios, Sora's identity is not revealed until later. She does not say anything with the number "6", while others think she is human. It is most likely that Sora wants others to believe she is human despite the fact she cannot lie about it. (Don't ask, don't tell?) Think about it. Sora has plenty of opportunities to tell others about what she really is, but she chooses not to (or being shy about doing so). It is a clear indicator of she wants others to see her as a human. She is a dot and she is one of the "6". It probably is designed that way when Sora is made, not her selfish will to deceive others (since she cannot do that as a pure AI by that time). Note that in both 2017 and 2034 perspectives, You does not say anything about the "6", assumed that either she knows the scan would count Sora, or, she believes it is a malfunction.
What's the probability of Sora's being counted? Sora is more reliable than You on terms of faithfully report the status of a situation. As she does not reveal her nature of being a RSD generated image, the probability of Sora is knowingly being counted is very high. I think You also knows about it because it is unlikely for her to not raise up and ask questions.
What's left is why the number is always changing between 6+-1. Without other forms of explanation, the culprit has to be Blick Winkel. I guess it always becomes the cause of things that are ordinarily unexplainable in Ever 17. The important assumption here is, Blick Winkel's (or the player's) conscious affects the outcome of life reading. There are other situations can be explained with this assumption, therefore it is not impossible if the script writers wanted the players to think this way. Since Blick Winkel exists in both 2017 and 2034 worlds, we need to consider both sides of this equation. In the four normal scenarios, nobody knows Sora is an image until later in the story, therefore the number 6 has to be the truth to Blick Winkel (with Sora counted as a person). In the Kid's perspective, though, the number "7" indicates that BW/player, remembers Coco and thinks she should be counted, given the circumstances that Hokuto "saw" Coco's image earlier. Vise versa, when the player is on Takeshi's perspective, Blick Winkel should also know about Sara from the epilogue. It is a clever way to show both Sara and Coco is in LeMU, while the player is thinking the whole thing is happening only in 2017. As the moment of Blick Winkel suspect whether Coco and Sara really exist (why they cannot exist together?), the number goes back to 5.
Although saying "the oscillating life counter is caused by Blick Winkel/player's doubt" is a bit more romantic than logical, there is no other "more" scientific way to explain it that I can think of.
At last, regarding the meaning of "Life Reading: 1" in the ending clip for first four scenarios... My interpretation is either because 1) it is Sora, she cannot leave LeMU or, 2) still the work of mind of Blick Winkel: as the company is away from LeMU when it implodes, the only one left there would be Coco (if you in Kid's perspective) or Sara (if you in Takeshi's perspective). Be honest, I can go for either of them yet neither is convincing enough for me to drop the other one. Even Sora is still being counted as a person after the implosion (yes, I think Sora would turn the setting of herself being counted as a human off after she revealed her true self), it is unlikely that she is still operating when LeMU is completely flooded. Perhaps when the player leaves LeMU, Blick Winkel is still suspicious of "why Coco/Sara isn't here?", thus leaving the "1" on screen. After all, maybe it is just a suspender and a way to tell the player that, "you have not solved all problems and the game is not ended yet!".
Yes, about the life reading, whether it's about oscillation or the final ONE reading:
"""It is a clever way to show both Sara and Coco is in LeMU, while the player is thinking the whole thing is happening only in 2017."""
This is the whole point.
However, I would rather believe, AFTER you know everything, the final reading should be explained as the ONE being BW. At the end of the four normal route, right after the life reading, a line of text "This story is not the end, because only you are in the infinity loop" showed up. Yes, ONLY YOU.
i don't think that is what it really means AFTER you solve Coco's path. Blick Winkel does not just exist in 3d world. it has to be "on" someone, such as Takeshi and Hokuto. As I said, BW only realize its existence after You'haru's explanation on Insel Null(awakened), before that, BW believe he actually is either Takeshi or Hokuto(unawakened).
I mean how can BW has body heat? Suppose I am BW and I have body heat and I am invisible and I'm sit on the shouder of Takeshi!! Takeshi doesn't feel my body heat? and suppose that is true, I am too close to a live person, i don't see how the sense would interpret that as two different entities?
my point is, the "life reading: 1" is not what the equipment detects, it is most likely what Blick Winkel wants to see.
Just recently I've completed this awsome game.
And I don't regret any second spent with it; truly a great game.
Heres my 5 cents to the discussion:
Spoiler for Life Readings:
I'm pretty sure the final reading ("1") always points to Coco.
In the Takeshi's route, either good or bad, she stays alive - In the good endings she's missed by the rescue team, in the bad ending she's only one left alive (that is, theres nothing about her death).
In Hokuto's route it gets a little bit more tricky. Thanks to her ESP she moves freely around LeMU, she dosent show up as a heat source, but is cought by the life readings. And in the end she's waiting at HIMMEL's door... (being only one left) = Life Readings: 1
And also, I believe, heat source and life readings are independent. First, if everything emiting heat would be counted as life source, probably whole generator room would be shown, hell, even that fusebox in werehouse. Second, if my memory serves me right, there was a scene when somebody was looking at the heat sources and there was somebody missing (I need to look into it later :S).
Oh, yeah, and I want to point out one thing: when someone asks Sore where is somebody she replays she needs to do the bio scan - seems like a yet another diffrent tool thats got nothing to do with the heat.
Regarding Chami: http://img216.imageshack.us/my.php?i...ifesignis1.jpg
Seems it is counted into the life readings :S
Though, maybe it just works in the Security Office?
Or maybe Control Room is connect with Security Office? Whatever is detected by security camers is shown in control room...
The life reading:1 cannot be Coco because Coco was not in LeMU, she was in IBF. If IBF is in the scanning range, then Yoichi along with other researchers (who of course hasn't died yet since it's only few hours after the initial flooding) down in IBF should also be picked up by the reading.
Coco, like Blick Winkel, has no physical body in 2034. Only Blck Winkel can see Coco because both of them are kinda supernatural... Life reading should be reflected with infrared life scanning/bio scan or w/e it is called... Of course the system would exclude the generator room from being counted as a person >.> The system shows the likely animal/moving heat sources, such as people and Chami. And then again, Chami was with Tsugumi most of the time, so it couldn't be a dot or a seperate headcount in that case.
Regarding the final message from the takeshi's epilogue, i think it goes:
The story starts xx.xx.xx and continues (goes on)
maybe its a hint how it started...
maybe it's Coco who brough BW...
I think sora was counted as a dot/count. since the AI did not raise the question of the number 6. She wants to be considered human, quite desperately, so to me it seems logical that she is counted here.
Spoiler for IBF:
no, takeshi found rooms of dead bodies in IBF. Maybe yoichi meant that those who were "alive" got out... but i'd believe hard fact of dead bodies than a rumbling man on the border of death
Spoiler for Coco's epilouge:
I heard the German/Japanese/English translation was extremely tricky... Anyway suppose the German->English translation made sense, I only hope the script writers did not make other grammarical mistakes of German language... (they used the word "implosion"... >.>). I think Coco is like the final boss or something... she's way deeper than the ending signifies and... well... just for that epilouge, you can only see it after you finish the True Ending... it didn't tell us anything new with the story arc imo
Sara... is because Shounen = Sara's brother... It would be bit xxx if those two make love in the end ... 囧~
Tsugumi... well Takeshi did make love with Tsugumi somewhere in the middle... and you don't really get to know except in Coco's path ^^ keep guessing :P

In cocs end there are many endings or it is one?
And i want to complete all of them ofc. this is best VN ever
