The real meltdown is probably going to come on Thursday when the frantic attempts at self pardon begin.

Waiting those 2 weeks then leaving it to the doj would likely be more beneficial since the gop won’t do anything that could damage their careers like turning on Trump and his voter base. He’s a civilian after that time, not a president protected by a senate majority too eager to ask how they can blow him today.

Honestly this is all becoming a bit on the terrifying side the extent he’s been allowed to get away with.

Well, it is a good lesson on how if you let your guard down, it is disturbingly easy to undermine democracy. Think about what he has been able to do in a country that has been Mr. I-Will-Make-You-a-Democracy towards other countries for a long long time.

Unless you're willing to accept that the "I-Will_make-You-A-Democracy" bit has been BS from the beginning- it was only a pretext for the US to invade a country for resources. There's an old book from pre- WWI that seems to be very relevant: War is a Racket.

To oversimplify things, I'm starting wonder if it is human nature to ultimately lean towards authoritarianism and fascism... actually, if I really think about it, notice how the three most populous countries in the world are leaning towards it? China and Russia are already there, and the US is swaying that way. Makes me sometimes wonder if any form of government will ultimately break down when used on a massive scale.

There are certainly a lot of people who want a "strong leader" to solve all their problems and tell them what to think.
It's worse in the USA, because we are also a celeb culture on top of that, and we treat politics like spectator sports.

And that means that America prefers tone over policy.
It's just that some people want to pretend we're nice and polite, and the other wants to "project strength and winning"

if Trump, simply rebranded medicare 4 all, and universal basic income as Trump policies, none of his followers scream about socialism. Only his donors would.

Do you have any evidence he is a failed lawyer? You know, like a sound recording or a legal document, your personal opinion is not proof.

You know something, my actual president (an inept leftist) and his mob followers played the victim card for twelve years and I despised every second of it. I will despise every second of the next for years where this inept ultra right wind president and his mob followers will play the victim card continuously,

Even so, no one is changing their minds at this late hour. If what Trump did ever mattered to his base, 70 million people wouldn’t have voted for him.
Lets just say than Key Board was pretty much right.

I hope the dems can win the two senat seats in Georgia but I kinda doubt it. Maybe if Trumpfans do refuse to vote for them because they were not devoted enough or if enough Reps stay home because they are disgusted of their president trying to stage a coup on the election result or no longer trust the voting system thus refuse to vote in the first place, maybe then the Dems got a chance, but it is a small maybe even with the 3 milllion votes cast before-hand.

Going to sleep, but baring any major surprises, it looks like the Democrats got it.

Doesn't look over yet in the Democrats favor at the moment. We'll have to see.

I am so proud of my Georgia people, we came out to vote and we did.

Decision Desk called for Warnock and Ossoff is only behind 4k but NYT got him at 95% to win.

Don't fool yourself, if the GOP loses any of those seats, Trump will drum "robbed election" everyday, even if he is no longer president, if there is violence he will take no responsibility (as usual).

Looks like the decision desk has called for warnock
Purdue and ossoffis still too close but even 3% left is still around 100k to 150k still to count and mostly in democratic strong counties

I was skeptical leading up to the runoffs but I'll be damned the Democrats pulled through.
A resounding win for Warnock!
And a nail-biter currently trending towards Ossoff.

Stacey Abrams really is the MVP in this final season of Trump.

They might manage it. It'll be deeply important that everything is above board as Trump and crew are already howling.

The fact that they pulled BOTH ahead BEFORE sojourning for the night weakens Trumps overnight ballot stacking claims
