Anything that was slow enough to feel the pull of gravity and curve in a ballistic trajectory would be so slow that the Pelicans could be dropped off and the mothership gone before the projectiles reached the target. Guided missles also travel too slowly to reach the target in time. The key is to exit dimensional space so close to the planet that its bulk shields them from the Exeter's sensors. They might pick up the realspace entry, but not the Pelican dropoff. Unless they had an orbiting sensor grid, even then they still can't act in time.
It's like two people using a round pillar for cover while trying to shot each other. What's the best position on that pillar for each person?

Hn, well, the Belzac people have the technology to do this. I'm citing Ace Combat a lot here, which is pretty much scientifically unsound in about 95% of what it does, and as such, suffers deeply from the Rule of Cool, so yeah.

Excalibur in the AC timeline was built and in use by 1995. A chemical laser that you could reflect off satellites. By 2010, they were using mass drivers to launch ships into orbit. So going by this, I have somewhere on Belzac a mass driver to launch stuff in space. Shortly after the TSAB rogues landed, they took control of the Caliburn Defense System, which are the laser arrays situated around the planet. Originally used to prevent asteroids from hitting the planet (which is another nod to AC, as that's what all of their giant lasers/railguns/etc. were made for), the TSAB now uses it to shoot down whatever comes close. The two large lasers on the top and bottom of the planet are powerful enough to punch holes in the Aus'ruf's shields and eat Pelicans.

The situation was as follows: Nanoha, in a fit of boredom, called up everyone she knew and figured that if they all got leave on the same weekend, they could make it to Earth and spend that weekend hanging out and revisiting old times (and possibly sake. Or in Nanoha's words, "enough sake to spend a weekend with, nyahaha~"). It had taken a couple of weeks, but everyone, including Chrono even, managed to get the same weekend. Nanoha was excited of course, until they hit a snag: Vivio and Vita.

While Vita was still technically nine-years old, Vivio was definitely a nine-year old girl. School was still in full swing for her, and if Nanoha just left her to her own devices for a weekend, who knows what could happen to the poor girl? As soon as they all figured this out, Fate was vehemently against the outing, but Nanoha desperately wanted to go, and she trusted Vita a great deal.

This led to the argument the two were having right now, in Nanoha's room, a night before they were to leave.

"What does Vita think about this?" Fate asked. "Did you ask her?"
"Of course!" Nanoha answered. "She's willing to 'put up with the brat', as she said."
"It's still out of the question, Nanoha," Fate said, turning her back to the other woman. "Look, you can't just drop your daughter when you want to and do your own thing. You have to consider her as well! Does she even get along with Vita? Did you think about that?"

"Well... I..." Nanoha faltered. "That is..."
"No, you didn't." Fate said. "Honestly, Nanoha, you're 22 now."

A knock rapped lightly against the door. "Nanoha-mama?"
"Hold on a second, Vivio, me and Fate-mama are having a talk." Nanoha said through the door to her daughter.

"I know you're both fighting." Vivio replied. "I can hear you from my room."

Nanoha sighed and opened the door. "Vivio, you shouldn't be listening in-"
"I wasn't trying to," Vivio said as she stepped into the room. "And I was trying to ignore it... but I don't like it when Fate-mama and Nanoha-mama fight. Especially about me."

"Well..." Nanoha looked at Fate desperately, hoping for some help. Fate, however, still had her back turned to Nanoha. "It's just... Fate-mama is worried about Vivio staying with Vita-chan, and I think the two of you will be okay! You know?"

"..." Vivio stared at her two mothers, slightly confused. "But Vita has been your friend for a long time right?"
"Uh-huh," Nanoha said.
"And... She's really trustworthy, right?"
"Yes."

"...and you want me to stay with her?" Nanoha nodded her head emphatically. "Is Vita-chan a nice person?"
"She can be," Fate suddenly said. "But she's your age, so I'm not entirely sure-"

"Let's do it!"

Fate turned around, somewhat surprised. Vivio had an excited look on her face. Her little hands were balled up into excited fists and a light shined in her eyes that was reminescent of Nanoha. "Come on, Fate-mama, please?"

"Vivio-"
"O. Ne. Gai?" Nanoha looked almost pleading.

"..." Fate looked between the two before throwing her hands up in resignation. "Fine, whatever. Nanoha, if something happens while we're gone, then you're in serious trouble!"

"Mou, it's just Vita-chan, what could go wrong?"

The next day found Nanoha and Fate packed by six in the morning. They were scheduled to leave at eight, in time to send Vivio to school. Vita had come by the night prior and crashed on the couch, where she still snoozed. Vivio had risen with her parents and was humming to herself as she readied herself for school. She had started to develop some of Nanoha's traits, including the side ponytails and black ribbons, and for added effect wore a red gem around her neck, reminescent of Raising Heart. She smiled at herself in the mirror and twirled around before running out to wish her mothers well.

What she found was chaos.

"Is that everything?!" Nanoha shouted from her room.
"Yes, I'm sure!" Fate shouted back from the door. "You got the house keys, right?"
"I think so! What about your tam-"
"YES!" Fate interrupted, sounding somewhat embarrassed. "Can we go, now?!"

Nanoha ran out of her room and toward the front door in a flash. Vivio watched her go back before shrugging to herself and walking calmly toward the door as well. "Vivio, hurry! Your bus is almost here!"

Vivio made it to the door and watched with childish amusement as Fate and Nanoha, both strapped down with bags, tried to slip their shoes on.

"Vivio, make sure you turn off all the lights at night." Fate remined her.
"Yes, kaasan."
"Vivio, you listen to everything Vita-chan says. She's in charge," Nanoha said.
"Yes, kaasan."
"And make sure you do all your homework," Fate said.
Vivio sighed. "Yes, kaasan."
"And go to bed at a decent hour!" Nanoha told her.
"You're going to be late." Vivio reminded them.

"Right, right," Fate said, bending down to kiss Vivio on the forehead. "Bye, Vivio, we'll be back!"
"Aishiteru wa, Vivio," Nanoha said, also kissing Fate on the forehead. "Be careful!"

"Good-bye! Aishiteru wa!" Vivio shouted after them as they ran out of the door. Vivio closed the door and walked to the living room. Seeing that Vita was still asleep (her back turned to Vivio), the young Takamachi decided to do what all kids do when their parents skip town: she was going to skip school.

I'll just leave and not let her know. she decided as she stared at Vita's back. Vivio grabbed her satchel and crept out of the room, slowly making it back to her bedroom. She quickly changed into something more casual and hid the satchel under her bed. She grabbed some money from her allowance and put some in her pockets, then decided she needed something else. She walked out of her room and into Nanoha's room.

All parents or guardians of children in the Saint Church school, if magically inclined, were given rudimentary Storage Devices to practice with under parental supervision. Nanoha usually taught Vivio magic for an hour a night, and Vivio thought she had some good control over it. Picking up the card-shaped Device off of Nanoha's dresser, she slipped it into her back pocket and walked back to the front door. Vivio put on her shoes and opened the door.

"Where are you going?" A tired voice asked. Vivio froze and turned around slowly. Vita still had her back to her, but was at least semi-awake.

"Going to school..." Vivio said, trying to keep calm. Slowly, Vita raised a hand and waved.
"Have fun..." she mumbled tiredly, then promptly dropped her arm and fell back asleep. Vivio breathed a sigh of relief and walked out the door, closing and locking it.

Vivio grinned mischieviously, not unlike Nanoha. It was time to go.

Cranagan City, Vivio quickly realized, was extremely large. By nine-thirty, the girl had no clue where she was. Afraid to ask anyone for directions lest she get sent to school, she did the best she could do to hide from people she decided might turn her in. On the other hand, if she wasn't home by the time school let out, Vita would track her down and do who-knows-what. Vivio hadn't really ever talked to Vita a lot, but she knew the girl was extremely powerful. Or so she heard. She didn't want to test that theory.

"..." Vivio wondered what to do. She had no idea what district she was in, where the Saint Church was from here, or anything. All she wanted to do was skip school for a day, and to her it seemed that she'd be skipping school forever. She didn't even know where the train station she was on was anymore.

And she was getting scared.

So she picked a direction and started walking. She kept her head down as she walked, focusing on the sidewalk and only looking up when she approached a crosswalk. She kept as low a profile as she could, and tried to keep out of crowds. As she walked, she focused on not panicking. She'd been in worse situations; kidnapped by combat cyborgs, implanted with a Relic, turned into an adult to fight her own mother...

Vivio shook the thought from her head as she walked, focusing on only going forward. Slowly, the crowds dispersed, and surprisingly, no one asked about her. Maybe no one cared, or maybe they didn't notice. She certainly hoped they didn't notice. As long as she kept her head down, and kept away from crowds, it was okay...

Until she looked up.

If she didn't have a clue before, Vivio was certainly lost now. The tall skyscrapers had given way to low-lying slums, halfway houses, and generally what looked like the lower-class portion of the city. Looking at her watch, Vivio noted that she had been walking like that for an hour, trying to keep a low profile. I should have gone to school...

All around her, the worst part of the city was laid bare before her. In alleyways, people were huddled in corners and dark places. Kids with ragged clothes ran up and down the street. Adults with nothing left languished on sidewalks. The sight scared Vivio, chilled her to the bone. With shaking hands, she took the Storage Device out of her pocket and activated it, turning it into a staff. Holding it tightly against her, she walked slowly, hoping that no one would notice her.

Unfortunately for her, it wasn't the case.

"Well well, looks like one o' those rich kids from the upper-class got lost." A voice behind her said. Turning around slowly, Vivio stared up at a man wearing a ragged TSAB Naval uniform. "Oh, and a small mage, at that." The man's voice was gravelly. "You came to the wrong place, kid. There's dangerous people around here. People like me." The man smiled and leaned forward. "So tell me, little mage, are you all alone?"

"N...n..." Vivio couldn't speak. Her shaking increased as the menacing man laughed none-too-kindly and raised back up.

"Cat got your tongue?" He rasped. "Well, lemme fix that." He put a hand on Vivio's head. "I know a guy who could help you out, in that house over there."

Vivio had seen this situation before, on TV shows. The girl would be dragged to a quiet place and-

"S-stay back!" Vivio shouted, pushing the man's hand off her and ran backward a few steps. She turned around and raised her staff. "I-I know how to use this!"

"Oh?" The man said. "Prove it."

With shaking hands, Vivio raised the staff and pointed it at the uniform-wearing man. "D-don't..."

"I'm coming, little girl..." The man said, smiling wildly. "And then when I do, I'm gonna find your momma and daddy, and I'll-"

"Sh-shut up!" Vivio shouted. Nervous tears were welling up at her eyes. "D-di-Divine..." A single mote of light appeared in front of the staff. Unable to form more due to nervousness, Vivio clenched her eyes shut and shouted. "Shooter, shoot!" Vivio jerked as the bolt of energy flew forward, then turned and ran.

She made it two steps before a massive hand grabbed her by the head and halted her run. Vivio cried out and flailed her arms, dropping her staff in the process. Help me, someone!

"That actually hurt, I'm surprised," the man wheezed. "You stupid little bitch, I'll-"
"If I were you, I'd let her go."
"Eh?"

Vivio opened her eyes. "What's going on? Vita, is that you?" she sobbed.
And she came from the sky.

Dressed in a black mini-skirt and white shirt, she landed before Vivio and the freak, her warhammer slung casually over her left shoulder. "You have ten seconds to let the girl go before you become a stain on Graf Eisen."

But it sucks.

Nagalintar charged forward and stabbed Huracan into Hikki’s left shoulder. He twisted the blade and lifted Hikki from his kneeling position. “This time, I will make sure history won’t repeat itself again.”

He withdrew the power out of Hikki. The boy cried in agony as the Chronograph circuit was taken out of his body. Nanoha and Fate gasped in horror at the sight, but were too occupied fending off the Immortals to even approach him. Hikki continued screaming in pain, his power draining out of every inch of his vein and his body weakening greatly.

Huracan was pulled out. “You should suffer no more,” Nagalintar spoke and looked down at the boy.

Or in Nanoha's words, "enough sake to spend a weekend with, nyahaha~"). It had taken a couple of weeks, but everyone, including Chrono even, managed to get the same weekend. Nanoha was excited of course, until they hit a snag: Vivio and Vita.

While Vita was still technically nine-years old, Vivio was definitely a nine-year old girl. School was still in full swing for her, and if Nanoha just left her to her own devices for a weekend, who knows what could happen to the poor girl? As soon as they all figured this out, Fate was vehemently against the outing, but Nanoha desperately wanted to go, and she trusted Vita a great deal.

This led to the argument the two were having right now, in Nanoha's room, a night before they were to leave.

"What does Vita think about this?" Fate asked. "Did you ask her?"
"Of course!" Nanoha answered. "She's willing to 'put up with the brat', as she said."
"It's still out of the question, Nanoha," Fate said, turning her back to the other woman. "Look, you can't just drop your daughter when you want to and do your own thing. You have to consider her as well! Does she even get along with Vita? Did you think about that?"

"No, you didn't." Fate said. "Honestly, Nanoha, you're 22 now."

A knock rapped lightly against the door. "Nanoha-mama?"
"Hold on a second, Vivio, me and Fate-mama are having a talk." Nanoha said through the door to her daughter.

"I know you're both fighting." Vivio replied. "I can hear you from my room."

Nanoha sighed and opened the door. "Vivio, you shouldn't be listening in-"
"I wasn't trying to," Vivio said as she stepped into the room. "And I was trying to ignore it... but I don't like it when Fate-mama and Nanoha-mama fight. Especially about me."

"Well..." Nanoha looked at Fate desperately, hoping for some help. Fate, however, still had her back turned to Nanoha. "It's just... Fate-mama is worried about Vivio staying with Vita-chan, and I think the two of you will be okay! You know?"

"..." Vivio stared at her two mothers, slightly confused. "But Vita has been your friend for a long time right?"
"Uh-huh," Nanoha said.
"And... She's really trustworthy, right?"
"Yes."

"...and you want me to stay with her?" Nanoha nodded her head emphatically. "Is Vita-chan a nice person?"
"She can be," Fate suddenly said. "But she's your age, so I'm not entirely sure-"

"Let's do it!"

Fate turned around, somewhat surprised. Vivio had an excited look on her face. Her little hands were balled up into excited fists and a light shined in her eyes that was reminescent of Nanoha. "Come on, Fate-mama, please?"

"Vivio-"
"O. Ne. Gai?" Nanoha looked almost pleading.

"..." Fate looked between the two before throwing her hands up in resignation. "Fine, whatever. Nanoha, if something happens while we're gone, then you're in serious trouble!"

"Mou, it's just Vita-chan, what could go wrong?"

She had started to develop some of Nanoha's traits, including the side ponytails and black ribbons, and for added effect wore a red gem around her neck, reminescent of Raising Heart. She smiled at herself in the mirror and twirled around before running out to wish her mothers well.

What she found was chaos.

"Is that everything?!" Nanoha shouted from her room.
"Yes, I'm sure!" Fate shouted back from the door. "You got the house keys, right?"
"I think so! What about your tam-"
"YES!" Fate interrupted, sounding somewhat embarrassed. "Can we go, now?!"

Nanoha ran out of her room and toward the front door in a flash. Vivio watched her go back before shrugging to herself and walking calmly toward the door as well. "Vivio, hurry! Your bus is almost here!"

Vivio made it to the door and watched with childish amusement as Fate and Nanoha, both strapped down with bags, tried to slip their shoes on.

"Vivio, make sure you turn off all the lights at night." Fate remined her.
"Yes, kaasan."
"Vivio, you listen to everything Vita-chan says. She's in charge," Nanoha said.
"Yes, kaasan."
"And make sure you do all your homework," Fate said.
Vivio sighed. "Yes, kaasan."
"And go to bed at a decent hour!" Nanoha told her.
"You're going to be late." Vivio reminded them.

"Right, right," Fate said, bending down to kiss Vivio on the forehead. "Bye, Vivio, we'll be back!"
"Aishiteru wa, Vivio," Nanoha said, also kissing Fate on the forehead. "Be careful!"

"Good-bye! Aishiteru wa!" Vivio shouted after them as they ran out of the door. Vivio closed the door and walked to the living room. Seeing that Vita was still asleep (her back turned to Vivio), the young Takamachi decided to do what all kids do when their parents skip town: she was going to skip school.

I'll just leave and not let her know. she decided as she stared at Vita's back. Vivio grabbed her satchel and crept out of the room, slowly making it back to her bedroom. She quickly changed into something more casual and hid the satchel under her bed. She grabbed some money from her allowance and put some in her pockets, then decided she needed something else. She walked out of her room and into Nanoha's room.

All parents or guardians of children in the Saint Church school, if magically inclined, were given rudimentary Storage Devices to practice with under parental supervision. Nanoha usually taught Vivio magic for an hour a night, and Vivio thought she had some good control over it. Picking up the card-shaped Device off of Nanoha's dresser, she slipped it into her back pocket and walked back to the front door. Vivio put on her shoes and opened the door.

"Where are you going?" A tired voice asked. Vivio froze and turned around slowly. Vita still had her back to her, but was at least semi-awake.

"Going to school..." Vivio said, trying to keep calm. Slowly, Vita raised a hand and waved.
"Have fun..." she mumbled tiredly, then promptly dropped her arm and fell back asleep. Vivio breathed a sigh of relief and walked out the door, closing and locking it.

Vivio grinned mischieviously, not unlike Nanoha. It was time to go.

Cranagan City, Vivio quickly realized, was extremely large. By nine-thirty, the girl had no clue where she was. Afraid to ask anyone for directions lest she get sent to school, she did the best she could do to hide from people she decided might turn her in. On the other hand, if she wasn't home by the time school let out, Vita would track her down and do who-knows-what. Vivio hadn't really ever talked to Vita a lot, but she knew the girl was extremely powerful. Or so she heard. She didn't want to test that theory.

"..." Vivio wondered what to do. She had no idea what district she was in, where the Saint Church was from here, or anything. All she wanted to do was skip school for a day, and to her it seemed that she'd be skipping school forever. She didn't even know where the train station she was on was anymore.

And she was getting scared.

So she picked a direction and started walking. She kept her head down as she walked, focusing on the sidewalk and only looking up when she approached a crosswalk. She kept as low a profile as she could, and tried to keep out of crowds. As she walked, she focused on not panicking. She'd been in worse situations; kidnapped by combat cyborgs, implanted with a Relic, turned into an adult to fight her own mother...

Vivio shook the thought from her head as she walked, focusing on only going forward. Slowly, the crowds dispersed, and surprisingly, no one asked about her. Maybe no one cared, or maybe they didn't notice. She certainly hoped they didn't notice. As long as she kept her head down, and kept away from crowds, it was okay...

Until she looked up.

If she didn't have a clue before, Vivio was certainly lost now. The tall skyscrapers had given way to low-lying slums, halfway houses, and generally what looked like the lower-class portion of the city. Looking at her watch, Vivio noted that she had been walking like that for an hour, trying to keep a low profile. I should have gone to school...

All around her, the worst part of the city was laid bare before her. In alleyways, people were huddled in corners and dark places. Kids with ragged clothes ran up and down the street. Adults with nothing left languished on sidewalks. The sight scared Vivio, chilled her to the bone. With shaking hands, she took the Storage Device out of her pocket and activated it, turning it into a staff. Holding it tightly against her, she walked slowly, hoping that no one would notice her.

Unfortunately for her, it wasn't the case.

"Well well, looks like one o' those rich kids from the upper-class got lost." A voice behind her said. Turning around slowly, Vivio stared up at a man wearing a ragged TSAB Naval uniform. "Oh, and a small mage, at that." The man's voice was gravelly. "You came to the wrong place, kid. There's dangerous people around here. People like me." The man smiled and leaned forward. "So tell me, little mage, are you all alone?"

"N...n..." Vivio couldn't speak. Her shaking increased as the menacing man laughed none-too-kindly and raised back up.

"Cat got your tongue?" He rasped. "Well, lemme fix that." He put a hand on Vivio's head. "I know a guy who could help you out, in that house over there."

Vivio had seen this situation before, on TV shows. The girl would be dragged to a quiet place and-

"S-stay back!" Vivio shouted, pushing the man's hand off her and ran backward a few steps. She turned around and raised her staff. "I-I know how to use this!"

"Oh?" The man said. "Prove it."

With shaking hands, Vivio raised the staff and pointed it at the uniform-wearing man. "D-don't..."

"I'm coming, little girl..." The man said, smiling wildly. "And then when I do, I'm gonna find your momma and daddy, and I'll-"

"Sh-shut up!" Vivio shouted. Nervous tears were welling up at her eyes. "D-di-Divine..." A single mote of light appeared in front of the staff. Unable to form more due to nervousness, Vivio clenched her eyes shut and shouted. "Shooter, shoot!" Vivio jerked as the bolt of energy flew forward, then turned and ran.

She made it two steps before a massive hand grabbed her by the head and halted her run. Vivio cried out and flailed her arms, dropping her staff in the process. Help me, someone!

"That actually hurt, I'm surprised," the man wheezed. "You stupid little bitch, I'll-"
"If I were you, I'd let her go."
"Eh?"

Vivio opened her eyes. "What's going on? Vita, is that you?" she sobbed.
And she came from the sky.

Dressed in a black mini-skirt and white shirt, she landed before Vivio and the freak, her warhammer slung casually over her left shoulder. "You have ten seconds to let the girl go before you become a stain on Graf Eisen."

But it sucks.

This is infuriating. I absolutely detest any bad marks in my future transcript when I apply for a job. And to add insult to injury, it was a BASIC subject.

He withdrew the power out of Hikki. The boy cried in agony as the Chronograph circuit was taken out of his body. Nanoha and Fate gasped in horror at the sight, but were too occupied fending off the Immortals to even approach him. Hikki continued screaming in pain, his power draining out of every inch of his vein and his body weakening greatly.

Huracan was pulled out. “You should suffer no more,” Nagalintar spoke and looked down at the boy.

If she didn't have a clue before, Vivio was certainly lost now. The tall skyscrapers had given way to low-lying slums, halfway houses, and generally what looked like the lower-class portion of the city. Looking at her watch, Vivio noted that she had been walking like that for an hour, trying to keep a low profile. I should have gone to school...

All around her, the worst part of the city was laid bare before her. In alleyways, people were huddled in corners and dark places. Kids with ragged clothes ran up and down the street. Adults with nothing left languished on sidewalks. The sight scared Vivio, chilled her to the bone. With shaking hands, she took the Storage Device out of her pocket and activated it, turning it into a staff. Holding it tightly against her, she walked slowly, hoping that no one would notice her.

Unfortunately for her, it wasn't the case.

"Well well, looks like one o' those rich kids from the upper-class got lost." A voice behind her said. Turning around slowly, Vivio stared up at a man wearing a ragged TSAB Naval uniform. "Oh, and a small mage, at that." The man's voice was gravelly. "You came to the wrong place, kid. There's dangerous people around here. People like me." The man smiled and leaned forward. "So tell me, little mage, are you all alone?"

"N...n..." Vivio couldn't speak. Her shaking increased as the menacing man laughed none-too-kindly and raised back up.

"Cat got your tongue?" He rasped. "Well, lemme fix that." He put a hand on Vivio's head. "I know a guy who could help you out, in that house over there."

Vivio had seen this situation before, on TV shows. The girl would be dragged to a quiet place and-

"S-stay back!" Vivio shouted, pushing the man's hand off her and ran backward a few steps. She turned around and raised her staff. "I-I know how to use this!"

"Oh?" The man said. "Prove it."

With shaking hands, Vivio raised the staff and pointed it at the uniform-wearing man. "D-don't..."

"I'm coming, little girl..." The man said, smiling wildly. "And then when I do, I'm gonna find your momma and daddy, and I'll-"

"Sh-shut up!" Vivio shouted. Nervous tears were welling up at her eyes. "D-di-Divine..." A single mote of light appeared in front of the staff. Unable to form more due to nervousness, Vivio clenched her eyes shut and shouted. "Shooter, shoot!" Vivio jerked as the bolt of energy flew forward, then turned and ran.

She made it two steps before a massive hand grabbed her by the head and halted her run. Vivio cried out and flailed her arms, dropping her staff in the process. Help me, someone!

"That actually hurt, I'm surprised," the man wheezed. "You stupid little bitch, I'll-"
"If I were you, I'd let her go."
"Eh?"

Vivio opened her eyes. "What's going on? Vita, is that you?" she sobbed.
And she came from the sky.

Dressed in a black mini-skirt and white shirt, she landed before Vivio and the freak, her warhammer slung casually over her left shoulder. "You have ten seconds to let the girl go before you become a stain on Graf Eisen."

It's quite nice! Vivio being rebellious at nine though is quite a surprise.

Profile: Kyouka is an orphan who has to survive in the seedier parts of Midchilda after her parents died when she was very young. With nothing to her name and no living relatives, she had to turn to thievery just to survive and eat. Because of how rough life on the streets can be, she has to learn to be tough, fast, cunning, highly cautious and be extremely observant in order to avoid getting captured to be sold off as a slave or worse, a child prostitute.

As a thief she is fairly good as she had plenty of time to hone her skills. She wasn't that good initially and has gotten caught and beaten up before but desperation and hunger made her continue on this route. She soon learned the little tricks and stuff that would improve her chances on a successful strike and soon she became pretty good at it. Fortunately for her, she never stole anything that is directly traceable and so managed to avoid the eyes of the law.

At a glance, this little girl would involve feelings of pity at her rough life. Who wouldn't, looking at this pretty but skinny and dirty little girl. She can be very charming and she has a beautiful voice but sad to say, the pity only lasts until she decides to grace you with the breath and depth of her knowledge and command of foul language and insults.

Appearance:

Personality: Trying to survive as a street rat for about half her life, she has learned to trust no one and to rely only on herself. As a result, she has grown to be cynical, highly independent and rather wary at forming any sort of bonds with anyone at all. Yet surprisingly enough, she is currently living together with four other orphans in which she takes on the role of elder sister as she happens to be the eldest and the most experienced. One would expect a person like Kyouka to be a loner and caring only for herself but this shows that she has a great deal of empathy for others like her.


Relationships: Kyouka does not really get along well with others that are her age or older especially adult males due to the fact that she tends to view them as threats to her well being. However, she can work with others, she just don't trust them at all and they don't really like her especially when she decides to insult them. The exception to this are the other orphans that she lives with. She is rather protective of them and she does go out of her way to make sure that they are reasonably cared for. The main reason is that those orphans still have the light of hope in their eyes. Although she knows hope is a dangerous emotion to hold on to, she does not want to be the one to snuff it out and have them become as jaded as her.


Magic: Because Kyouka's device uses a unusual form of magic, Lyrical magic, she is considered to be a Lyrical mage. Very little is known about this system of magic but current information states that Lyrical magic simply put is a form of magic that enhances life instead of taking it unlike most other forms of magic. Through the medium of sound, Lyrical mages can manipulate the surrounding atmosphere to create and control sound, affect the acoustics of an area to produce beautiful music and sometimes terrible noise. Besides this, not much is known.


Device: Kyouka's device, Cantlena Angeli, is an ancient lyrical magic style microphone which she found in the aftermath of the first battle between the Forwards and Lutecia. As the battle occurred near where she was living at, she was forced to run away with the others, abandoning what little she owned. After the battle, she went back to scavenge whatever she can find at the battle site and one of the items she found was the device. Despite not knowing what it was, she could feel something special about it and she took it with her. Although she doesn't know it yet, the device is still partially functioning despite the amount of wear and tear on it.

Abilities:

Performance Costume - It looks like a barrier jacket but in effect it is just a costume. However, it can be tweaked to change to different types of clothing as well as change the appearance of the user. This change however, is just an illusion.

Acoustic Manipulation - The standard ability of most lyrical magic devices. This give the mage the ability to create and control sounds.

Song of slumber - An actual lyrical magic spell. This bit of magic will send others other than the mage to sleep if they listen to it. This spell is usually used together with a soothing song to mask its effect.


Summary leading to current time: One day after discovering the device, Cantlena Angeli, Kyouka played with it in a fit of silliness and accidentally activates it by sheer luck. With a great deal of trial and error, which is basically just concentrating and wishing very hard, she finds out she can use it to imitate anyone, visually and vocally but her limit is 15 minutes at max. Initially, she just uses it for entertaining the younger children but eventually she uses it to cheat/earn some money by imitating some minor stars in a sort of impromptu mini concerts. This slowly grows to include popular stars and famous people.

The TSAB weren't really too concerned about this since they are still rather short handed trying to clean up after the JS incident. This went on till Acous accidentally discovered this while on another mission and brought it to the attention of Chrono, Hayate and Carim. Showing them a video of 'Fate' performing, there were a few mixed reactions and when she got back to RF-6, Hayate shows the videos to the other Aces and they decide to do their own unofficial investigations.

Later, the Aces managed to find out where one of the 'concerts' were being held. They discovered 'Keroko' dancing and singing Happy Happy! in a rather skimpy dress with a rather distinct lack of support as evident by the amount of 'bouncing'. Confronting the fake Keroko with the real one blushing heavily, chaos ensured and 'Keroko' escapes to the sewers while the Aces gave chase. After a short impromptu "tour" of the Midchildan sewers, they managed to catch 'Keroko' using strangle bind. This reveals 'Keroko's' true form which is a a dirty, thin, rude, extremely foul mouth Kyouka. Rather disturbed by her true appearance as she looks like a young, short hair version of the original Reinforce, and not sure what to do with her, they bring Kyouka back to RF-6.

Someone made it to Chibi-R1 first. I was planning it to have been a AlterNADS AU thing, when Sophia summons R1 as her Servant Caster to participate in the Holy Grail War without the knowledge of the people she was working with.

For the duration of Rebuilt, Caster appears in her chibiform to conserve power, but reverts to her full form in combat. Even as a chibi, she is still double of R2's height, and acts as the "mother" Unison Device to both Sak-chan and R2. And Sak-chan got remodelled into a chibi-quivalent of the 4 year old, so she's smaller than R2.

And... imagine Chibi-Saga seated with Chibi-R1, with Null and R2 and lastly Sak-chan in a chibi baby-chair at a chibi table on a table in the Riot 6 canteen. And R1 is having trouble getting the adopted baby to eat her greens.

Doesn't that make you wanna go AWWW~~~~!!! <3

Nanoha and Fate gasped in horror at the sight, but were too occupied fending off the Immortals to even approach him. Hikki continued screaming in pain, his power draining out of every inch of his vein and his body weakening greatly.

Huracan was pulled out. “You should suffer no more,” Nagalintar spoke and looked down at the boy.

“What was that for… father?!” he demanded and cringed at the stinging pain of the wound.

“You are no longer worthy of carrying the forbidden secret anymore,” the Eternal Guardian replied.

Koji leaned against a wall and slowly slid down to the floor.

That's mostly because I'm still debating it myself. The primary idea was to just stick her with the rest of the Wolkies with Hayate, but it feels... undeserving. I'm a TDM player through and through, as long as my allies manage to hold their ground, I can make a few good kills before I have to relocate myself (staying in one spot for too long is never a good idea anyway). RPG's never kill me, and backstabbers usually give me a few extra grenade kills before they learn to back of (I love martyrdom ).

Honestly? I myself am amazed I got away with it. I'll say now that the hardest part of writing Keroko's bio was the creation of Tesla. Keroko I had given a background, a reason for being with Nanoha, and a reason for Nanoha to trust her. She wasn't just some random person that popped up and became friends ala Sailor Moon, she already knew Nanoha for two years before the chaos started.

Tesla, on the other hand, had no such excuse. But after realizing that there was no way I could give Keroko a role in A's without completely ruining the rivalry setting, I created Tesla. She was meant to be a side character to give Keroko a role of importance in A's, imagine my surprise when the people here were actually fond of her, and wanted more of her.

I hate this.

A tip for the future perhaps, log just who does what, and when the teachers ask for it, show them just what the others have done in terms of work. Its the general failsafe in my class when other people screw up their part of the work.

Mine is basiclly Landwarrior on steroids you get a reticle for your weapon, which also has a sight to feed video to it so you can look around corners and such. Some units add a further special modification's depending on the wearers specialty FOs for instance have target painters and improved comm gear.

Acutally given that nothing can go faster then C (bizzera sub-atomic quantum particles and such aside... umm no. Merely apporaching C is enough to cause significant time dilation though the level is often overplayed it would take quite awhile at relativistic speeds to get really far "ahead" of the rest of the universe.

99% of literature is about taking stuff other people wrote and twisting it a little to make it interesting, or even just doing it again in a competent way. Originality is good, but drawing on common elements or know characters can work too if it’s done well. After all the very concept of a “genre” implies that various works will share common elements and things like archetypes and stock characters have been an accepted writing tool for thousands of years. There's a thin line between adaptation and copying I'll admit and sometimes it can be hard to see it when you're walking it which is why it's good to have others watching from a distance to warn if you're drifting onto the wrong side of it.

No matter how original you think your story line is, chances are other people have laready thought about it. One reason why I don't mind seeing common story elements etc. The one thing I do take exception to is referencing without atempts to adapt it to the story. Which I'm sure most are aware of by now.

I'll second Keroko's advice on keeping a log of what get's done in group assignments so that if things do go badly, you've got a record saying that x work was done this week by y member, so you can go and complain that your group sucked and try and get partial marks..

Hearing Carim and Hayate's conversation, an idea sparked in Yui's mind.
She walked up to them, "Carim-nee~" She smiled at her.

"Can I borrow some clothes from your 'special' wardrobe?"
"Now? It'll soon be lunch time..." She said.
"Don't worry, it's just for a little prank." She smirked.
"Oh, if that's the case..." Carim reached for a pocket and produced a key from it. "Here."
"Thank you." She smiled.
"Have fun~" Carim smiled, waving at Yui as she went on her way.
"Hmmm...I wonder what she's up to." Hayate said.

Meanwhile, Maren was with Fate and Nanoha, looking after Vivio and the others as they played in the courtyard.
"It's good to see Treize getting along with everyone." Fate said.

Nanoha nodded, "And Vivio too, after what happened, I'm happy she didn't change."
"She'll grow into a fine young lady." Maren commented.
"Is that so?" Nanoha turned to her.
"I helped raise many children in the past. That's the feeling I get not just from Vivio, but everyone."

Fate giggled. "Maren too."
"Eh?" She looked at Fate.
"I'm sure Maren will be a good mother when the time comes."
"Ueehh?" Maren blushed.
Nanoha giggled as well, "Fate-chan, don't tease her like that."
"Ah, I'm sorry, I meant it as a compliment..." Fate fidgeted.
"I-I see...thank you, Fate-san." Maren smiled.

As Treize played with Caro and the others, she noticed Yui sneaking in the distance.
"Onee-chan..." She turned to see where she was going.
"Trei-chan?" Caro looked at her.
"Something wrong?" Altea asked.

Seeing the them go, Nanoha wondered, "Ne...Fate-chan."

Maren and Altea entered the bath house, and following Treize, spotted Yui heading towards the changing room.
Little did they know, that they were in the men's section...

"Yui?" Maren said as she caught her in the act.
"Giku!" She flinched. "M-Maren-chan?"
Maren blinked, "What are you doing?"
"A-Ahhh...well...just putting some clean clothes here for Onii-chan." She tittered.
"But aren't those women's clothes?" Altea raised an eyebrow.
"ah...haha...hahaha..." Yui sweatdropped.
"Yui..." Maren looked at her suspiciously.
"O-Okay...I was pulling a prank on Onii-chan." She playfully sticked her tongue out.
Maren sighed, "Really...Can't you even refrain from pulling pranks on a day like th-"

But before Maren could finish, the door leading to the baths slid open.
Out came Koji, with a towel over his shoulder and wearing nothing else.
"Ah~ What a good bath.......are?" Koji said as he saw Maren, Yui, Treize and Altea in there.
Silence filled the room.
Treize blinked, "Onii-chan...naked..."
"WAH!" Koji quickly covered his lower body.
"K-Koji-sama..." Maren blushed.
"A-ah...ah...aah~" Flushing, Altea can't even say a word.

Yui snaps out of her trance and covers Treize's eyes, "T-Trei-chan, don't look!"
"W-What the heck are you guys doing here???" Koji shouted.
Yui tittered, "W-Well, you see..." Her eyes wondered about the room.
"Y-y-y-y-y-y-y..." Altea stuttered while still flushed.
"Eh?" Koji blinked.
"You PERVERT!!!!" She shouted.
"WHA??" Koji said surprised.
"P-put some clothes on!!!" She said as she grabbed whatever items were within her reach and threw them at Koji.
"That's what this room is for!" Koji countered as he dodged the things thrown at him.

Still covering Treize's eyes, Yui noticed Maren's daydreaming expression.
"Maren?" She blinked.
No answer...
"Maren!" Yui called her.
"Ah...y-yes?" Maren snapped out, looking at Yui.
"Do something!" She Yui directed her attention to Altea.
"Yes!" She nodded and intervened.

Grabbing Altea's hand, Maren pulled her away from Koji.
"Hey! Let me go! I'm not done punishing him!" Altea complained as she was pulled out of the room.
"Onii-chan...gomen~" Yui and Treize followed them.

Koji leaned against a wall and slowly slid down to the floor.
"T-they saw me..." Koji's eye twiched.
"...Maren...saw me..." He sighed.

Honestly? I myself am amazed I got away with it. I'll say now that the hardest part of writing Keroko's bio was the creation of Tesla. Keroko I had given a background, a reason for being with Nanoha, and a reason for Nanoha to trust her. She wasn't just some random person that popped up and became friends ala Sailor Moon, she already knew Nanoha for two years before the chaos started.

Tesla, on the other hand, had no such excuse. But after realizing that there was no way I could give Keroko a role in A's without completely ruining the rivalry setting, I created Tesla. She was meant to be a side character to give Keroko a role of importance in A's, imagine my surprise when the people here were actually fond of her, and wanted more of her.

To tell the truth, I like her better than Keroko-chan...

A tip for the future perhaps, log just who does what, and when the teachers ask for it, show them just what the others have done in terms of work. Its the general failsafe in my class when other people screw up their part of the work.

Let's say that Teana has a Linker Core that uses mana type A. She casts Crossfire Shoot and deals x damage at y speed with z amount of bullets.

Subaru has a Linker Core that uses mana type B. She also casts Crossfire Shoot and deals x damage at y speed with z amount of bullets.

The only difference here is that Teana and Subaru uses different mana types.

Of course, there is actually no reason to go to this trouble of introducing mana types, because in the end, it all boils down to spells cast by the said individuals (the mana type wouldn't change because their Linker Cores don't change).

The only thing that mana types will be significant for are mages who possess different types of Linker Cores in their body (i.e. more than one), and hence, my intention.
