He's evil. He tried to take over the world at the end of the original Dragonball-series, only to be stopped by Goku, and ever since, he's been training in order to get his revenge.

mysterious illness that could kill Goku without the help of the Future Trunks medicine, he's good as dead if ever

that explains in those filler episodes and in the other world he can use it as much he wanted because he's dead.

You're original deduction is pretty much what he is as soon as Raditz shows up because Piccolo is willing to put his rivalry with Goku aside in order to prevent Raditz from destroying the Earth. He's evil in the beginning but you'll see him begin to have a change of heart as the series progresses.

That would actually make sense if it were confirmed, it's very believable but I do have an off-topic question for you. What anime is that girl from in your avatar?

Ah, arigato arigato. I always want to add to my list of anime to watch since I'm never content with a short list Although that anime was already on my list but I just didn't know she was in it

Anyways, I don't want to stray off-topic anymore than I already have so how about episode 10? Good episode huh? So far we've had 2 deaths in one episode with 1 impending in the next episode And also a great battle which is about to start, it's starting to get good again

I don't think kaoiken causes sickness..(I think) goku's heart attack is caused from the planet that goku had escaped to when the planet namek exploded...maybe that virus means no harm to those habitants in that planet, but it causes sickness to our hero

The sickness was never explained at all beyond "new virus." And he had 3 years between returning and the android attacks so I doubt it was from that planet. In the real world new viruses are discovered all the time, Goku happened to be victim one. Also the over use of Kaioken results in "bodily damage/explosion" according to old DBZ lines.

With the upcoming event next episode, I must say that unfortunately, with there not being nearly as many scenes with Piccolo training Gohan in Kai, I feel that their bond wasn't as well developed. Though I think they still show a scene of Piccolo caressing his hair in his sleep in a brief flashback during his sacrifice, don't they? I hope so. Regardless, I'm sure it will be a moving scene, as always.

And man I missed Suzuoki in episode 10. Not that Midorikawa didn't do a good job, but... it's just not the same.

The best theory I've heard, in regards to this, is that he picked it up in space at some point. The reason being that he didn't get the symptoms until later in the normal universe because Trunks took care of Frieza and King Cold. If he hadn't, Goku would've had to Instant Transmission down, and then fight both of them in Super Saiyan form.

As it stands, he only went Super Saiyan for a short time to have fun with Trunks, rather than going into a full on battle. That change in stress applied to the body seemingly made all the difference.

It was actually 2.5 years that he got it in the other timeline, since he dies and the narrator says that 6 months later the city is attacked. If you see History of Trunks you'll see that at Goku's wake Trunks is already born too. Anyways I don't think Toriyama really thought it through as to how he got it, but I think 'unlucky' patient zero' is about as much as we can assume.

They never say whether the Namek balls can revive people who died a natural death, but they likely couldn't. The only known differences between the balls are 3 vs 1, no limit on the same wish, and only one resurrection per wish vs unlimited.

They also wouldn't know where New Namek is, hence why Trunks couldn't just go there to wish for Gohan and the others to be revived. Remember, Goku had to instant transmission to King Kai's planet, get a direct from him, and then Instant Transmission there.

I always loved that scene, I'm curious as to how the Kaioken looks like now? Is it any better? (aside from the OP Kaioken that has superior quality )

I was a bit disappointed by this episode, too much filler overall, if you removed all the filler I think they could have easily covered another chapter but I guess they

really wanted the episode to end with Piccolo's shielding Gohan from Nappa's attack.

Another minor complained was the lack of new animation during the kienzan attack, it's one of the most copied moves in the franchise and it doesn't get some new flashy animation.

I was looking to all the episodes but the real HD quality start at episode 9 i was so happy about it because i can really enjoy kamekameha in HD!!!!!!!!!!!
