Tried it. It doesn't help. Surely, you didn't think that in 12 pages, you'd be the first one to think of such an obvious answer? If you'd tried it yourself BEFORE recommending it to us, you'd have realized that it doesn't help us.

Those hackers have done this community a great wrong.
However, I am glad this site is back up and running at full speed again.

wow , how a**inine . I havent been affected much since Im sort of one of those post-once-every-three-weeks guys , but I can see how this can really suck for those of you who joined in Feb-april 05 . Lucky me I joined back in 04 . * does quick check* yep , all my 05 posts are gone . Brings me back to the old days ... not really but ... you know .

I hope the hackers are caught for this . What they did was a felony and they fully deserve to be punished for it with some good ol fashioned jail time .

I don't think jail would be appropriate for this. They essentially defaced property and a few other terms that I can't think of (go me, English is my primary language) but it was in virtual space. I think a far more fitting punishment would be bannage from electronics. Jail is meant to lock people away from the world for the crime they committed; I think locking electronic criminals out of the "virtual world" is just as good. Enforcing a technology and internet ban is a bit harder, though, since we don't really have any access controls in place.
