What the crap!? Ah that's a bit more epic than I expected, well done. I still am placing my bets on the relation to the Nakajimas. Anyone write fanfiction on these two and get thrown by the image? Hehe

Guess you haven't been following the thread
Spoiler:
Seriously the whole time travelling thing was included solely for the purpose of including Vivio, Einhart, Thoma, and Lily. Absolutely nothing would change in the rest of the story if the sisters were just from an unadministrated world in present time.

There's actually a lot of pointless things in the story mode.
Precia and Linith? Completely pointless. Yeah, it was nice to see some development on their end, but that's invalidated considering that it's not actually them, just Dark Pieces. Them being around had nothing to do with the plot involving U-D and the Florian sisters. It would hurt things if it was actually an anime/manga, but since it's a game it's fine to give us more things to play but narratively speaking it served no purpose.

Talking about serving no purpose, not only the future visitors and the Florian sisters, Nanoha and crew have no meaning in the story as well as the whole thing can be resolved by the materials alone. Without the materials, Yuri will just be blasted into oblivion just like the poor defense system in A's and the story will end in tragedy.
I think that is also one of the reason why Diarche dislike Hayate as well. |

Considering that Yuri and the Materials are manifesting on Earth, along with another wave of Dark Pieces, there's just no way that Nanoha and friends can't be involved.
And having Nanoha and company get involved means that the Materials can settle things up with their originals, which furthers everyone's character development nicely. Moreso the Materials themselves, of course. |

There you have it. The future gang and Fate's family also receive character development as well in the short time they appear. It hammers even strongly on the relationship of Fate's family as Precia's regret was still so strong and Linith's regret on not able to snap Precia out of it and treat Fate as a daughter is shown as well.
When you think of it, the game is called Lyrical Nanoha but she has the least involvement in the story. Fate gets to deal with her family issue and Hayate gets to deal with the cats and Diarche but Nanoha is just there to torture poor Chrono. Anyway, I do not know why, but I think present Hayate might have a strong dislike for her future self though. |

Even the Liese twins have more of a reason. Leti has them investigate the incident with the Dark Pieces, and then they help train everyone for the fight against U-D. Their actions directly tie into the main storyline. Linith, Precia, Vivio, Einhart, Thoma, and Lily also added nothing. Them being there has no impact on the U-D storyline, and the latter 4 just help out in the battle. It's nice to see them, sure, and I liked how they interacted with the other characters but narratively speaking there's no point.

Vivio, Einhart, Thoma, and Lily contributed next to nothing throughout the entire incident and they left nothing behind except for a small linger of "Who was that girl that can turn big?" impression on Nanoha.
*It'll be funny if she's thinking about Einhart instead of Vivio* They didn't advance the main plot, nor did anything the A's cast would remember for Character growth. The A's cast remembers the Dark Piece of Linith and Precia, making them a small step up in being important. |

Yeah, I thought they'd take a bit more advantage of the opportunity to flesh out their new leads a bit, but I guess that's just something they didn't feel like doing.
Maybe if the mangas get a game all to themselves, but I somehow doubt that'll happen. |
